Chapter 508 Anna, I Got Divorced

His voice floated down from above, sounding doubtful rather than cold.

Anna tensed up. What did he know?

Sure, Katherine was a pain, but that mess was her fault. If Giorgio found out she snuck into his bed, ran off, and lied to him for so long, he'd definitely hate her! No way she could let him keep asking questions.

Anna clenched her fists and quickly said, "No, I didn't have any ulterior motives with Katherine."

She added, "When the news broke, the whole internet was buzzing. Katherine said it would affect Charlie, and she didn't want him to be burdened with all that. I was worried about Charlie, so I agreed to step in. Really!"

She swore earnestly, her eyes not dodging this time.

Because the real reason she agreed to Katherine back then was indeed because of this.

Giorgio studied her face, his gaze finally locking onto her clear eyes. He raised an eyebrow and said, "So, it really has nothing to do with Giuseppe?"

Even though he already knew the answer, he still yearned for her personal confession.

Looking into his deep, dark eyes, she blurted out the truth, "The person in that video wasn't me, and I didn't actually date Giuseppe or do anything with him. Only once, when Giuseppe had an episode, I was unconscious..."

Before she could finish, Giorgio kissed her again.

Why was he so excited?

She didn't know, but for Giorgio, it meant something different.

Before, when she was supposedly dating Giuseppe and doing those things in the video, even if it was a misunderstanding or to make him mad, he still cared a little.

But now, she hadn't.

Now, she was still the pure, innocent girl in his heart.

He held her tight, wanting to merge her into his body, to make her solely belong to him.

They kissed for a long time.

Anna applied medicine to Giorgio's swollen mouth and couldn't help but ask, "Looks like you got beat up. Who hit you? So bold."

Giorgio replied indifferently, "A lunatic who didn't know the truth. What, feeling sorry for me? Want to avenge me?"

Anna shook her head, looking into his handsome eyes, smiling. "Mr. Vittorio, do you need a woman to protect you?"

"No, but being protected by my own woman has a different meaning," Giorgio teased.

When he mentioned my own woman, he wrapped his long arm around her waist, intimately.

Anna's cheeks turned red, and she stepped back, pouting, "Don't hug me, or you'll be the one feeling uncomfortable later."

She always noticed that after their kissing or hugging, he needed strong willpower to calm himself down.

Giorgio understood, his gaze flickering. "If so, then next time, I won't hold back. How about that?"

Anna was left speechless for a moment.

That wasn't what she meant.

Embarrassed, she changed the subject. "You still haven't said who hit you? And why?"

Giorgio's eyes darkened for a moment, then he said, "Anna, I got divorced." His serious words carried a myriad of emotions.

Upon seeing the news, she was simply astonished.

But hearing it from his lips felt like a declaration, as if he was expressing something to her.

Anna's heart skipped a beat, her breath quickening, her mind unable to process.

She nodded. "Yeah, I saw it. So, was it Katherine's fan who hit you?"

Giorgio smiled, raising his hand to touch her nose, teasing, "Why are you so naive? Those people can't even get close to me. It was Fabio."

"What? Fabio?" Anna was surprised, but then it clicked.

Fabio had always been super protective of Katherine. Knowing Katherine was with Giorgio, he probably thought Giorgio dumpedh, so he beat him up. Good brother, just not the brightest.

In her mind, Giorgio's decision to divorce had to have solid reasons, not because of her.

"Did you divorce because of Katherine and Giuseppe?" she asked.

Giorgio's eyes darkened. "Yes, but not entirely. She was with Giuseppe for over three years and did something heartless to Elodie. Someone without morals or character has no right to tarnish my reputation or the Vittorio family's."

His previous leniency towards Katherine was because she seemed gentle and generous. But beneath that, she was as venomous as a snake.

Giorgio's voice and expression were icy.

Anna realized Katherine had crossed his line. Their divorce wasn't because of her. Or rather, it had nothing to do with her at all.

Actually, this was better. At least she didn't feel guilty or pressured. But still, she felt a bit sour inside.

"It's done." Anna pushed her thoughts aside, looking at his handsome face. "Let's put a bandage on it. If someone takes a picture of you like this, they'll blow it out of proportion."

"Is there a hint of schadenfreude in your tone? You little heartless girl." Giorgio lightly patted her on the butt, making Anna's face turn red with embarrassment.

"Mr. Vittorio." Suddenly, Tony pushed the door open and saw the awkward atmosphere between the two, especially Anna's flushed face, making his thoughts wander.

"Sorry, Mr. Vittorio, it's urgent, so I didn't have time to knock." His tone suggested he had interrupted something.

Anna felt even more embarrassed, quickly turning around to tidy up the medicine.

Giorgio, however, appeared calm, standing up with his tall, noble figure and asking, "What is it?"

Tony quickly reported, "The internet is in an uproar right now, especially with fans of both sides cursing each other, digging up dirt, and slandering each other. The situation is very unfavorable."

Giorgio, always a businessman, didn't understand the fan effect.

He said coldly, "Let them guess all they want. No need to care about their words."

Tony said, "No, Mr. Vittorio, it's like a battle between two major corporations. Whoever wins will attract huge fame, while the losing side will be a stepping stone, left in utter desolation..  Everyone is now saying that you have been neglecting Katherine, refusing even to obtain a marriage certificate. They see you as nothing more than a work-obsessed douchebag, which is detrimental to us."

Giorgio never cared about external opinions, but this was different, so he ordered, "Contact Katherine to handle it."

"Yes."

That day, Anna was discharged early.

Due to the heated news and high fan attention, to avoid any mishaps, Giorgio took Anna to a mansion halfway up the mountain.

In the rain, Katherine was drenched.

Seeing the car drive in, she staggered over.

Suddenly, the car door opened, and Giorgio got out, reaching to help the woman inside.

That woman looked slender and beautiful.

Katherine hadn't expected it was Anna.

"So it was you!" Katherine dropped her umbrella, angrily rushing over, questioning, "Weren't you in a vegetative state? When did you come to Crownhaven? Did you tell Giorgio those things? Did you make Giorgio divorce me? Answer me!"
