Chapter 118 His Self-Control

The man's voice was too deep and hoarse. It was like a dangerous and alluring wolf lurking in the dark night, ready to devour her.

Anna's cheeks grew even redder, like a boiled shrimp. Responsibility? Was he referring to...

Feeling an unusual warmth, her heart raced, and she pushed him away abruptly. "I need to use the restroom!"

And then, Anna fled in a panic.

Giorgio was left empty-handed, staring in the direction she had run off to, a slight smile tugging at the corner of his lips. For thirty years, he had prided himself on his self-control, but just now, in front of her, he had lost miserably.

He was very interested in her. More than he intended to be.

Anna rushed into the bathroom. In the large mirror, her face turned as red as an apple, her eyes filled with panic, resembling an eighteen-year-old girl shyly watching an intimate scene from a television drama.

How had she ended up hugging him just now? The thought of the scene moments ago made her feel embarrassed. She slapped her face and turned on the faucet, splashing cold water on herself to calm down.

After coming out, Anna sought out the doctor and confirmed several times that Penny wasn't sick, finally sighing in relief. "Doctor, before this, Penny had two examinations, and they both showed signs of illness. What happened?"

The doctor touched his glasses, hesitated, and then lowered his head. "Well, I was surprised when the test results came out. I specifically contacted the attending physician and found out that the patient wasn't suffering from Leukemia. Someone took the money and deceived others."

It turned out that when Anna and Simon took Penny to the hospital, Richard Dalio, who was working overtime, saw them. Learning that his son was involved with a woman who had a child, he became infuriated and came up with a plan.

He wanted to force Anna to leave Vista Heights and make Simon let go, resulting in this past series of events.

Upon hearing this, Anna exploded. Penny's illness was fake from the beginning! Both her and Simon had been deceived! Someone had played with a child's life.

"Mr. Vittorio, Mrs. Vittorio, the doctor was just acting on someone else's request. He thought it wasn't right for his friend's son to be involved with a woman who had a child. The instruction was to do it without causing any actual harm. All the patient received was nutrition fluid, hoping you won't punish him," the doctor pleaded anxiously.

They were well aware that to become a doctor at Dalio Hospital, it required immense skill and time. If they were expelled, there would be no chance of returning.

Anna narrowed her eyes as she looked at the doctor.

"I won't hold you accountable. Let him give me Richard Dalio's phone number."

Giorgio's good mood gradually dissolved when he saw something he never expected playing on the TV in the hallway.

The Sunshine Group was making an announcement.

And Renaldo was the one speaking.

"...And thanks to the gracious donation of 16 million dollars by the Vittorio Group, on behalf of Giorgio Vittorio. Thousands of children will have access to healthcare they otherwise wouldn't be able to afford. So, we thank you, Vittorio Group, for being our biggest supporter!"

Renaldo smiled at the camera.

He was wearing a sun brooch!

It was the same as the one found on the mole's body!

He had been played like a fool! He basically financially supported the attack on his own men!

Giorgio knew he couldn't let them get away with it. Now that he had seen his face, he knew that his next move had to be quiet and carefully crafted. His foe was no simple man.

Ten minutes later, Anna obtained the number and found a quiet corner to make the call to Richard Dalio.

"Hello, Mr. Dalio. I'm Anna. I've already learned about your falsifying Penny's condition. I understand your affection for your son, but have you ever considered the worry and stress I go through day and night for my daughter? Fine, let's say you prioritize your interests, but what about your son? He doesn't love Mirlinda at all, yet you force them together, causing him to lose an important virtue of a man. Is this how a father should be?"

Richard Dalio never expected to receive this call, let alone hear such straightforward words.

"Anna, you..."

"Mr. Dalio, I respect you as an elder, so this time, I won't argue with you. However, you must stop threatening Simon to meet someone and marry as well as interfering with his relationship with Mirlinda. Otherwise, I will tell Simon about everything you've done, and let him see what kind of person you are as a father. I'll give you only three hours!"

Click!

Anna hung up the phone. She was truly furious. How could Richard Dalio do such things and harm his own son? Simon was pitiful, caught up in this unjust condition and the situation with Mirlinda.

Throughout the whole ordeal, Giorgio, leaning against the wall, watched her angry demeanor with a smile in his eyes.

She just mentioned that Simon had lost an important first-time experience as a man? Does that mean she and Simon never had any relationship? Were her previous words just out of frustration? Giorgio felt particularly good.

"Little Tony, haven't you noticed that the weather today is nice?"

Little Tony looked up at the sky, feeling hot and stuffy, and not finding anything good about it.

"Mr. Vittorio, what's good about it?"

"It's just good. Let's buy some groceries and have a hot pot tonight." He didn't eat a single bite last time they had hot pot. This time, he planned to enjoy it to the fullest.

Giorgio cast a meaningful glance at Anna's back and turned to return to the ward.

Little Tony couldn't understand why Mr. Vittorio looked so happy.

In the afternoon, Penny was successfully discharged from the hospital as she wasn't really ill. When she arrived at the Vittorio family's house, her eyes widened in amazement.

"OMG! Charlie, is this your house? It's even bigger than a palace! I could get married to you! Become the mistress of this place!"

Young and innocent Penny couldn't help but imagine herself in the luxurious house from every angle.

Charlie's little face became slightly gloomy and distressed. "You don't seem as beautiful as Barbie."

Penny pouted with her small mouth and instantly became unhappy, looking at Charlie with a pitiful gaze.

"Charlie, even though I may not be as beautiful as Barbie, I am still lovable, aren't I?"

Charlie chuckled and indulged her, saying, "Alright, you're pretty cute too."

"Yeah! Charlie, I love you!"

The two kids embraced each other and gave each other a gentle kiss on the cheek.

Their innocent appearance was extremely naive.

Anna, with a headache, quickly walked over and pulled Penny away. "Penny, you can't say these things to Charlie."

"Why?"

Because... because they were siblings...

Anna didn't know how to explain it.

Helplessly pursing her lips, she said, "Penny, didn’t Mummy tell you that girls should be reserved?"

"But Mummy, I don't want to be reserved!" Penny said as she ran away with Charlie.

Anna sighed.

As she was currently pretending to be Katherine, what should she do about Penny?

She looked around and couldn't find Giorgio anywhere. "Little Tony, where is Mr. Vittorio?"

"He seems to be upstairs. Miss Stefanelli, you should go upstairs and take a look."

"Okay, thank you." Anna turned around and quickly went upstairs to return to her room.

In her haste, she forgot to knock and instinctively pushed the door open.

"Giorgio..."

Then, her voice abruptly stopped, and she froze in place!
