Chapter 493 Mr. Vittorio, I Want to Return to Your Side
Just then, Giorgio suddenly let go of her, locked eyes with her, and said, "Sorry, I thought you were Katherine."
That hit Anna like a ton of bricks.
In the past, except for the first time they met, he never mixed her up with anyone, especially not Katherine. Now, he was actually mistaking her for Katherine! It meant he wanted to kiss Katherine!
Anna thought she was numb from the pain, but she still felt it. She quickly stood up and said, "Mr. Vittorio, your stomach isn't well, you should go to the hospital. And, I really need to leave here. I hope you can let me go for the sake of our past."
She said that as humbly as possible.
Giorgio sat up, leaned on the sofa, and smiled. "The past, Miss Stefanelli, did you ever care about our past?"
'What does he mean by that?' Anna thought.
Giorgio continued, "Didn't you have feelings for another man when you were with me? I doubt you ever cared about me for one day."
Anna could tell his cold and harsh words were full of sarcasm and danger.
Anna was stunned. She had no choice but to say that at the time; why did he remember it so vividly!
'Couldn't he feel if I cared?' she thought.
Whether out of guilt towards him or the urge to go back to see Penny, she finally chose to apologize, "Mr. Vittorio, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said those things back then."
Giorgio sneered, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her into his arms, saying, "A simple sorry can't solve anything. Anna, do you think I pampered you so much that I have no feelings left?"
She didn't think that, but she didn't retort him verbally either.
Giorgio added, "You were the one who didn't appreciate it, so don't act pitiful in front of me to gain sympathy."
Giorgio tightened his grip on her, commanding, "Tell me, why did you come to Crownhaven this time? Explain clearly, and I might consider letting you go. If not, I'll definitely send you to jail."
His words meant no one could save her from him.
Anna knew he meant what he said. But she couldn't give up avenging her grandmother. If he knew, he would solve all the problems for Katherine in advance.
She chose to say something else. "If I say I regret it, Mr. Vittorio, would you believe me?"
"What do you mean?" Giorgio didn't react immediately, his deep gaze coldly fixed on her.
Anna looked at him seriously and said word by word, "I regret leaving you and pushing you to Katherine. I want to come back to you. So, I retaliated against Katherine and scared her."
Except for the last part, the rest was sincere.
Hearing that she wanted to come back to him, Giorgio's brow twitched violently. The next second, he sneered, "Do you think I would believe that? As far as I know, you've been in Crownhaven for almost half a month without contacting me."
Hearing this, Anna protested in grievance, "That's because you blacklisted me. I couldn't call you, nor could I send messages to you on WhatsApp. On the day you got the marriage certificate, I went to the city hall to find you, but I didn't see you."
Anna continued, "After that, I wanted to find you, but I saw you and Katherine were so good together. I didn't have the courage to win you back."
Her clear and strong voice sounded like an accusation.
On the day she left, he did blacklist all of Anna's contacts. What she said made it seem like she cared about him. But in Giorgio's eyes, if she cared, she wouldn't have left.
Giorgio coldly said, "Do you think a few words can make me forgive you? Or do you think I love you so much that I can't live without you? Anna, I've given you chances three times."
That was the greatest patience and tolerance he could offer.
Anna knew that getting one chance from him was already a blessing. And she had exhausted all his feelings. So, he really didn't like her anymore. That was why, after her explanation, he was still so ruthless and indifferent.
Anna took a deep breath and said, "Mr. Vittorio, I know you don't love me now, and I'm not indispensable. I know all that."
Last night, when he thought she was Katherine and did those things to her, she knew it then. But when he said it out loud, her heart still hurt so much.
She added, "I also know my apology can't make up for it, and we can never go back. Rest assured, I won't ask for more, and I won't bother you again. Please, give me my phone and let me leave. After that, I will leave your world forever."
Hearing this, Giorgio's already cold aura became even more icy. She hadn't explained clearly, hadn't sought his forgiveness, and just wanted to leave. It seemed her earlier words about wanting to get back to him were also deceitful.
His anger surged as he said, "You still haven't told the truth. Fine. I have time, we can wait."
Anna frowned in surprise. 'What does he mean by not telling the truth? He could wait, but I couldn't, and Penny couldn't either!'
She said, "Giorgio! I'm serious! Since you don't believe me, then tell me, what do I have to do for you to let me go?"
Giorgio looked at her, his gaze cold. "Within three days, willingly please me, and I'll let you go."
Please.
He used such a degrading word.
He didn't want her, just to humiliate her!
Anna never thought he would speak to her like this! The once gentle and affectionate Giorgio was long gone. Since it had come to this, her greed and longing were just laughable.
Deep down, Anna realized they should end it once and for all.
Anna bit her lip hard, making up her mind, saying, "No need for three days, as long as your stomach and body are fine, anytime is fine."
Giorgio's mouth twitched hard as he said, "Anna, are you doubting my sexuality?"
That wasn't what she meant! He always misinterpreted her words. But she was too tired to explain, so she went along with it, using reverse psychology.
"Yes, I'm afraid Mr. Vittorio, your stomach isn't well, and what's between your legs isn't either."
She successfully provoked his anger.
In the past, she would shy away from a kiss, but now, in order to leave, she was bold enough to challenge him.
He pressed down his voice, filled with anger. "I will show you if I'm well-functioned or not. But I have no interest in making love with you now. Katherine will come here tomorrow. Make breakfast for her."
With that, he coldly went upstairs.
Anna was left frozen in place. No interest in making love with her? Last night he was very interested in making love with Katherine! And now he wanted her to make breakfast for Katherine? Was he treating her like a servant?
Her dignity was completely trampled under his feet.
If Anna's previous regret was emotional, now, it was rational fear. Such a terrifying and dangerous man, being cherished by him was sweet beyond measure, while becoming his enemy was a fate worse than death.
And she had become his enemy.
Anna was sleepless all night, because of Giorgio's humiliation and her worry for Penny. She really didn't know what to do next.
In the morning, Giorgio opened the door and saw Anna sleeping by the door. Her small figure curled up into a ball, her makeup gone, her face clean and pitiful. Her clothes were tattered, looking like a beggar's.
'She slept here all night?' he thought.
