Chapter 347 Don't Make Me Angry
Seeing her silent, Giorgio walked over and repeated Charlie's words:
"What sister?"
Giorgio stood tall with a strong presence, exuding an aura of intimidation as he pressed for answers.
Anna cleared her throat and avoided looking directly into his eyes.
"Penny is the daughter of my brother, and Charlie is the son of my sister. In name, aren't they still siblings?"
She finally found a reasonable excuse.
Giorgio frowned, is that so?
Penny said, "Mommy, what are you talking about? Am I not your biological daughter?"
Anna's mouth twitched.
She forgot she had never discussed such complicated matters with Penny before!
In front of Giorgio and Charlie, she had to say:
"Yes, I was worried that you would be upset if I didn't tell you. Penny, don't overthink it, you will always be my daughter, my biological daughter."
At this moment, she said this in a way that wouldn't raise any suspicions.
Okay, Penny's little heart was hurt:
"No, it turns out you are not my mommy. I am actually an orphan without a daddy or mommy. I liked you so much, and you are not my mommy."
The little girl, who was only three years old, seemed to understand a lot of things and cried very miserably.
She couldn't accept that such a beautiful mommy wasn't her mommy.
She saw her uncle and aunt's photos and also heard Aunt Sara say they bullied Mommy.
She turned out to be their daughter!
The sound of crying was deafening.
Anna's heart was in a knot.
Her own son couldn't recognize her, and even her biological daughter became someone else's daughter. There is nothing sadder than this.
She walked over and hugged Penny.
"Sweetheart, it's not like that. Please don't cry, okay? Mommy will carry you back."
"No, I want to go home, I want to go back, I don't want you."
Anna remained silent.
She thought she could make it through the next six months unscathed and walk away in one piece.
The current situation is really bad.
Her nose felt sour, her eyes filled with mist.
Giorgio looked at the uncomfortable appearance of the older and the young one, feeling quite suppressed in his heart.
Because of Charlie, Penny found out the truth, and she started crying, feeling like an invisible hand was gripping her heart.
He saw the blood-stained white ribbon on Anna's hand, his eyes narrowed slightly. Walking over, he took Penny in his arms.
"Why are you so cute? Your mom is just joking with you."
"Not a joke."
"Silly, you and your mom look so alike, it's impossible not to be related. She just didn't want you to talk about getting married to Charlie at such a young age," Giorgio comforted softly.
Penny stopped crying, sniffing, "I want a mirror."
Charlie immediately brought it over.
Penny looked at herself in the mirror, then glanced at Anna.
"Her eyes were black, bright, large, with double eyelids. Her nose was also attractive, and her mouth was small like a cherry. It really seemed like they looked alike."
With her choked voice, Giorgio also stared.
Then, he discovered that indeed, as Penny had said, Anna and Penny were very similar in many ways, especially in the lively feeling between their eyebrows and eyes, as if they were carved from the same mold.
Is this, definitely not biological?
Giorgio became suspicious.
Penny, on the other hand, believed it, muttering to herself, "I am still Mommy's daughter, not their daughter. My mommy is Anna."
Then, she mumbled and fell asleep in Giorgio's arms.
Anna had already sensed that Giorgio's gaze was off. Now, with Penny asleep, she quickly said:
"Give Penny to me, I'll take her back to sleep."
Giorgio gave her a deep look and said, "Your hand is injured, I'll carry her over."
Without giving her a chance to refuse, he instructed Charlie to rest well, then carried Penny out.
The night breeze was cool.
Anna followed behind, watching Giorgio's tall and slender figure, which looked particularly charming in the moonlight. She took a deep breath.
‘It's okay, face it calmly and confidently. I absolutely cannot reveal any flaws.’
Along the way, she was absent-minded.
Giorgio didn't say anything and went upstairs, wondering, "Which room is she sleeping in?"
"The room next to Giuseppe's," Anna quickly replied.
Giorgio carried Penny inside, gently placing her on the bed, and tucking her in. Then he stood up to scan the room.
There were no personal belongings of Anna in the room.
She did indeed live together with Giuseppe.
The image of her lying in Giuseppe's arms came to mind, and a wave of annoyance surged through him.
"Thank you, you can go back now, Charlie is still waiting for you," Anna's urging voice sounded.
It sounds like you care about Charlie, but aren't you actually rushing him?
Giorgio's face turned cold, wanting to erupt in anger. His eyes caught sight of the red bandage on Anna's hand, and he suppressed his rage.
"Bring the first aid kit downstairs."
"What? What's the first aid kit for?" Anna had just finished speaking when she suddenly realized, with a shock, that her hand was hurting. She lowered her gaze and saw that the white gauze had turned red!
She didn't even notice it herself, yet he actually did.
She scratched her head, refusing:
"Thank you for your concern, I will handle it myself."
"With Giuseppe around, you even refuse to let him take care of your medication?" Giorgio's voice was tinged with frost.
Anna shook her head. "No."
"It's better if you come down before I get angry."
He left the command, walking down the stairs with a dignified and aloof stride.
Anna remained silent.
Wasn’t he a bit too bossy?
And now he cares about her? Why didn't he even bother to look at her when she was in prison?
She thought to herself that after taking care of Charlie for so long and being a stand-in for Katherine to stabilize the shares of the Vittorio Group, she had put in a lot of effort without receiving due credit. In the end, she felt that she didn't even deserve a second glance.
Now that she has been released from prison, why is he meddling in her affairs again?
Anna stormed into Giuseppe's room in anger, found the first aid kit, gritted her teeth through the pain, cut open the bandage on her hand, and swiftly wrapped it up.
Having done all this, her lips had been bitten, leaving teeth marks, and her forehead was covered in beads of sweat.
However, she did not stop. She went downstairs and sat on the sofa, facing Giorgio who was waiting for her.
"Really, there's no need for Giorgio to bother, I've already wrapped it myself."
Her attitude was cold and indifferent.
The blood-soaked gauze has indeed been replaced.
Giorgio looked at Anna under the dim light, her figure appearing fragile yet proud, his brow furrowed.
‘She's got guts.’
She demonstrated remarkable resolve in her efforts to avoid him, showcasing considerable backbone.
Anna's mouth corners were bitter.
Was there any backbone? She had absolutely no backbone.
While in prison, she didn't think about behaving well enough to get out early; she just felt hopeless and wanted to die.
She said, "Giorgio was exaggerating. I just like to do my own thing and don't want unrelated people to worry about it."
Unrelated?
‘Good one, so I’m unrelated!’
Giorgio was thoroughly angered by her.
