Chapter 458 Mr. Giorgio Takes Olivia for a Pregnancy Test
His tone was gentle but firm.
Anna felt a wave of nervousness.
"You want me to stayhere?"
She remembered the night at the hotel when she agreed to sleep with him. She doubted he'd be more restrained tonight, especially after having had a few drinks!
"I promised Penny I'd tell them a story, and Charlie's in a good mood. I want to spend more time with him."
Even the best excuse was still a refusal.
Giorgio looked slightly annoyed. "You won't even fulfill that birthday gift by sleeping together?"
Anna knew he was upset, but she couldn't understand why did sleeping together seem so natural to him?
They weren't really at that stage yet!
In the end, Anna left in a hurry.
After she left, Giorgio's eyes darkened.
He couldn't tell if she was just shy or if she was rejecting him.
She seemed more open with Giuseppe.
A video that had once surfaced flashed through Giorgio's mind, making him feel dejected.
The next morning, after breakfast, Anna and Giorgio took Penny and Charlie to school and then headed to the studio.
While sitting in the car, her phone rang.
It was Giuseppe.
Anna glanced at Giorgio and cautiously answered, "Hello, Mr. Vittorio."
Giuseppe got straight to the point. "Come to the project department today; we need to talk. I'll be waiting."
Then the call ended abruptly.
Anna looked puzzled.
'What's there to talk about?' she thought.
Since her relationship with Giorgio had been exposed, she needed to talk to him.
"Mr. Giuseppe, are you going to the Greenwood project department today? If so, I can join you."
Giorgio hadn't heard what was said during the call but knew it was Giuseppe.
'One call and she goes straight to him,' he thought.
Already in a bad mood from last night, he coldly replied, "No."
He wouldn't go, and he seemed angry.
"I'm going to talk business with Giuseppe, nothing more."
"Business?" Giorgio raised an eyebrow. Just as she was about to nod, he coldly added, "What business can a man and a woman talk about?" He sounded cold and sarcastic.
Anna was stunned. She never expected him to say such a thing or think of her that way.
She couldn't understand why he was angry, so she said, "You and Katherine also have business to discuss, and you even slept with her to get her to agree to the divorce. I didn't get mad, did I? Do you not trust me at all?"
Giorgio's expression only grew more grim as he heard what she said.
"So, you also want to sleep with him, and I shouldn't be angry?"
Anna was speechless. What kind of boyfriend did she have? That wasn't what she meant at all!
"I don't want to talk to you." She turned her head to look out the car window, both angry and upset.
Giorgio sneered.. He agreed to Katherine's condition not just for the divorce but also because he knew he could never have any feelings of intimacy with Katherine.
Meanwhile, Anna had already slept with Giuseppe; he had every right to be angry.
She didn't speak, nor did he apologize.
About twenty minutes later, the car stopped outside Lucia's studio.
Giorgio's face was stern. "You're not allowed to see Giuseppe. Whatever it is, just discuss it over the phone. I'll pick you up after work."
Anna, still fuming, didn't like his unreasonable behavior. "What if I insist on seeing him?"
Giorgio's temples throbbed in anger as he looked at her determined expression.
"Then don't see me."
He was cold and angry. Not seeing him meant breaking up.
Anna's chest heaved with anger. "You're crazy. Don't see Katherine ever again."
Anna spat out her angry words, got out of the car, slammed the door, and stormed off.
She was just doing her job, and he was throwing a fit.
Giorgio rubbed his temples in frustration and loosened his tie. "Drive," he commanded the chaffeur.
Why was he always the one getting hurt?
Anna was genuinely mad. She had business to handle with Giuseppe, including an agreement to look over. She was seeing him for legitimate reasons, so why was Giorgio being so unreasonable?
But she wasn't reckless. Provoking him would only cause more trouble; it wasn't worth it.
She stayed in the studio, sent Giuseppe a photo of her busy working, and prepped for the next shoot.
In the afternoon, Charlie sent a message: [Auntie Anna, Penny and I are home. No need to pick us up. You and Daddy can go watch a movie, have a romantic candlelight dinner, and enjoy your time together!]
Didn't Giorgio say he'd pick her up? Why hadn't he come?
"Waiting for Mr. Vittorio?" Lucia asked, standing in front of her. "You two are so in love, so no surprise there. Come on, I'm heading near The Vittorio today. I'll take you there; Mr. Vittorio will be happy to see you."
Anna felt conflicted. They had argued in the morning, and now she had to take the initiative.
Still, maybe if he was in a good mood, they could have a rational discussion about Giuseppe?
And with all his injuries, it wasn't good for him to be traveling around.
Fine! I won't argue with him!
Anna nodded and took Lucia's car to The Vittorio.
After getting out and preparing to go in, she unexpectedly saw Giorgio and Olivia coming out of the building together.
They got into the car one after the other, and they seemed to be trying hard not to be seen.Anna's intuition told her that something secretive was going on!
Curious, Anna instinctively got into another car. "Taxi driver, please follow that car."
Then she texted Giorgio: [Done with work?]
Her phone had been restored by Charlie.
Soon, she received a reply: [Not yet. There's an urgent business matter I have to handle. I'll send a car to pick you and the kids up.]
'Business?' Anna thought.
Anna thought for a moment before replying: [No need, Charlie is already home. Lucia is taking me back. Just focus on your work.]
Giorgio: [Stay safe. I'll be home as soon as I can. By the way, did you see Giuseppe?]
Even while in the car, he was thinking about her, so it must be a business matter.
Anna felt she might be overthinking it and hesitated about continuing to follow them.
If she got caught, he would probably be angry.
But since she was already here, it would be a waste not to give him a surprise.
Just then, the car in front stopped at a hospital entrance.
'An obstetrics and gynecology hospital? What are they doing here?' she thought.
Anna's heart, which had just calmed down, immediately started racing again.
After they went in, she put on a mask and quickly followed.
She followed them all the way to a doctor's office and stood against the wall to eavesdrop.
Soon, she heard voices from inside.
"Miss, congratulations, you're pregnant!"
"Really? Am I really pregnant?" Olivia was ecstatic. "Mr. Vittorio, this is wonderful, I'm pregnant! I'm going to have a baby!"
Anna then heard Giorgio's deep voice. "Calm down, don't get too excited."
'He was accompanying Olivia for a pregnancy test!' Anna thought.
His concern for Olivia's well-being and the fact that he had brought herfor a check-up clearly indicated the child was his!
He and Olivia were having a child together!
Anna felt a surge of shock and anger. She clenched her hands tightly.
She realized she had forgotten something.
Something very important.
