Chapter 335 Cooking for You
"What conflict did he have with Giorgio, do you know?" he asked.
He wanted to see if it was the child's own idea or if Giorgio intentionally sent the child over to disrupt him and Anna.
Anna answered honestly, "Penny ran into Giorgio's yard before, and Giorgio got mad at Penny. After I took Penny away, Charlie may have spoken up for us, which made Giorgio angry and told him to leave."
Was it really that simple?
A deep and meaningful glint flashed in Giuseppe's eyes as he curled his lips into a small smile. "Naturally, I have no objections to Charlie staying here with me, but I think it's not good for you," he said.
"Oh?" Anna knew it wasn't good, but she still wanted to hear Giuseppe's analysis.
He continued, "Maybe it's because you played the role of Katherine, and you had dealings with Giorgio. Katherine strongly opposes you staying, which is why she wanted to send you abroad. I kept you by my side and brought you to the private courtyard to let her know that you no longer have intentions of pursuing Giorgio.
"If you continue to be so involved with Charlie, she will surely misunderstand. Externally, we appear to be a couple, displaying an intimate relationship. But internally, I don't want to force you. If we get along well, and if you're willing, we can live together in one room.
"But if Charlie is present, he will know that we are not living together and may go to Katherine or Giorgio, which won't create a good impression."
The first point resonated with Anna, but the second point caught her off guard.
Indeed, she aimed to create distance from both Katherine and Giorgio, solidifying her stance.
Building a relationship with Giuseppe felt like the best course of action.
Toward Giuseppe, she harbored sincere gratitude and, regardless of any future developments, aimed to repay him by avoiding trouble and fostering a friendly bond.
With these considerations, it became apparent that Charlie wasn't suited to live here.
"Should I take Charlie back then?" Anna asked.
"No rush, let the child stay for two days. For these two days, it's a bit inconvenient for you to stay with me, but when the child goes back, it will be easier to explain if anyone asks." Giuseppe, being a gentleman, then asked, "I just wonder if Ms. Stefanelli would be willing to endure this inconvenience for two days?"
With his friendly tone and accommodating demeanor, what inconvenience could there possibly be? It was certainly preferable to being confined in a prison without the sight of the blue sky.
Anna said, "It's no problem. I trust you. So, how is Viviana doing?"
Giuseppe responded, "She's doing well. After you massaged Viviana, her condition improved. The doctor also found a well-known massage therapist specializing in traditional Chinese medicine at CrownHaven, and we are planning to try a different treatment method."
"That's good." Anna felt relieved and then thought of something. She said, "Giuseppe, what kind of food do you like? Let me take care of your meals from now on!" After all, the only way she could thank him was by providing this humble help.
Giuseppe noticed her thoughts and smiled. "Ms. Stefanelli is truly a considerate person. Alright, I haven't had a meal specially made for me before, so whatever you're good at cooking will be fine. I'm not picky."
"Okay, I'll take care of the hygiene in the villa as well," Anna added.
Giuseppe asked jokingly, "Am I looking for a girlfriend or a maid?"
Anna replied dismissively, "Oh, well, I have nothing better to do." With that, she walked into the house, organized her luggage, tidied up the wardrobe, and then began cleaning.
As Anna meticulously tended to each task, ensuring orderliness from the front yard to the backyard and throughout the floors of the house, Giuseppe observed her movements from the courtyard, unable to resist squinting his eyes in contemplation.
As an American expert in Chinese-to-English translation and a best-selling author of American novels, who had encountered numerous women, Giuseppe found himself intrigued by Anna.
Despite being the heiress of the Stefanelli family and garnering the affection of Giorgio, Anna displayed neither greed nor competitiveness. Instead, she led a tranquil life, treating Giuseppe as her savior and expressing gratitude for his assistance in what she considered her duty as a housemaid.
Her innocence and straightforwardness were unparalleled in Giuseppe's experience with women, leading him to understand Giorgio's feelings for her.
As evening descended upon the Vittorio family's main residence, dinner time had arrived. The table was adorned with delicious and exquisite dishes, and everyone had taken their seats, except for Giuseppe.
Colombo asked, "Where is Giuseppe? Why isn't he joining us for dinner? Did he go out again?"
The servant standing nearby quickly responded, "No, the young master had informed us this afternoon that Ms. Stefanelli will be cooking for him in the future, so he won't be dining at the main residence."
"What? Ms. Stefanelli? Did she move in to live with Giuseppe?" Henna exclaimed in surprise.
The servant nodded truthfully. "Yes, she moved in today."
Henna had a complicated expression on her face.
Anna was simply the neglected and unimportant daughter of the Stefanelli family, without any power or shares. They had no intentions of accepting such a daughter-in-law.
However, in a short amount of time, Anna had saved the old lady twice, proving her usefulness. It wouldn't look good if they kicked her out now.
Their original plan was to ignore her until after the old lady's affairs were dealt with.
They didn't expect her to move in and live together so quickly. She really had no shame.
Anna didn't have the appetite for the dinner. She took a few bites and put down her chopsticks, then got up and left.
Meanwhile, Giorgio was also not in a good condition.
Cooking for Giuseppe? Was she planning on being a devoted wife and mother?
What methods did Giuseppe have to make her so obedient?
"Mr. Vittorio, should I go pick up Charlie?" Tony weakly asked from the side. He had only found out about Charlie's tantrum in the afternoon.
Giorgio put down his chopsticks with a cold expression and pursed his lips. "No need, I'll go myself."
In the North Yard, bathed in the glow of soft, yellow lights, a rectangular wooden table stood adorned with an array of exquisite and delicious dishes.
From appetizers to stir-fried dishes, steamed delicacies, and fragrant soups, a total of seven dishes graced the table, offering a diverse range of flavors.
Giuseppe was astonished.
He was already surprised when he saw her cleaning the room in the afternoon, but now she was able to prepare such delicious food?
If it weren't for him being at home, with no outsiders or deliverymen coming, he would definitely suspect that someone else did it.
"Is something the matter? Don't you have an appetite?" Anna asked curiously upon noticing his lack of movement.
Giuseppe collected his thoughts and replied, "No, I just didn't expect you to prepare so many dishes."
"It's simple. I started cooking when I was three years old. By the age of seven or eight, I was already managing the family meals. At ten, I even helped out at village banquets, preparing the nine big dishes. If you ever want to try them, I can make them for you."
Anna spoke with such ease, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, her pride evident in her words.
But Giuseppe's expression darkened.
Cooking at three years old? Managing family meals at seven or eight?
Clearly, she should have lived a worry-free life like Katherine, but she was in the countryside. What kind of life had she been living?
An inexplicable sympathy welled up in his heart. "You don't have to make so much in the future. Just one dish and one soup will do. If you're tired, you can let the secretary do it."
"Don't worry, I'm not tired. Try it and see if it tastes good." Anna placed the steak in front of him.
Considering that he might find it dirty, she used utensils that had not been used before.
Giuseppe smiled faintly, picked up the utensils, tasted the food, and then his eyes lit up. "It's delicious. I've never had such a tasty steak before."
"Haha, don't make fun of me. As long as you like it. Charlie, Penny, how about you try it too?"
Anna also served steaks to the two children.
However, the two children were clearly in a bad mood.
