Chapter 146 Did you do it on purpose?

Giorgio suddenly felt fireworks exploding inside his mind.

"Did you do it on purpose?"

What did he mean by that?

Anna looked at the handsome face above her, and her phone dropped onto the bed, shining directly on his tense jawline.

He had such masculine charm.

She blinked and swallowed her saliva.

"Well..."

"Mmm!" Before she could finish her sentence, the man suddenly kissed her on the lips.

Anna widened her eyes in astonishment. "Mmm... What... What are you doing? Let me go..."

Her resistance was too strong.

Giorgio slightly released her and gazed into her eyes.

"You willingly came to me, yet you resist. Do you enjoy playing hard to get?"

Desperately shaking her head, Anna responded, "No, I'm not playing hard to get! I really saw a ghost standing by my bed. I was scared, so I came to find you. If you don't believe me, come with me and see for yourself!"

She spoke earnestly, with conviction, her frightened eyes shimmering, reflecting her genuine emotions.

Giorgio stood up straight.

"Hey, what are you going to do?" Anna grabbed his sleeve.

Giorgio glanced at her and asked, "Are you going to see the ghost you mentioned or do you want to continue what we were doing just now?"

What happened before…

Anna quickly denied, "No, no, I'll go with you."

As she said that, she swiftly hopped off the bed.
Normally resistant to him and keeping her distance, she now obediently followed him like a little tail.

Giorgio used his phone as a light source and went downstairs to check the electricity meter.

As they arrived in the living room, a shadow flashed by.

"Ah!" Anna, being timid, immediately grabbed onto Giorgio and jumped onto him.

Since she was behind him, her jump landed her on his back, clinging to him like a koala.

Giorgio became stiff.

How could someone her age still be so childish?

He moved the light in his hand, illuminating the moving object.

"Bark!" A dog's bark sounded.

"It's Blacky."

Anna opened her eyes and looked at Blacky, who was sitting on the ground, big and black, feeling embarrassed!

She quickly hopped down from Giorgio's back, saying, "I thought it was a ghost, that's why I jumped on you. I'm sorry."

Giorgio glanced at her but didn't say anything. He walked outside, opening the electric box.

Unexpectedly, the power hadn't tripped, and there was still electricity inside.

"It must be a problem with the wiring. I'll inform the management to send someone to fix it tomorrow."

"Does that mean we have to sleep in the pitch-black house tonight?" Anna asked fearfully.

She wasn't usually afraid of the dark, but after seeing that old lady, she wouldn't dare to sleep alone in the dark anymore.

Giorgio frowned, his meaningful gaze landing on her rosy lips.

"What are you implying?" He asked.

Implying? In the dark, just the two of them, anything could happen!

Anna quickly came up with an answer in her mind and explained, "No, really, I simply don't want to stay in a dark house without electricity. And besides, I really did see a ghost before. I swear, I'm like a little puppy!"

She swore like a child, even lifting her hand to make a swearing gesture.

Giorgio cast a glance at her serious little face, withdrew his gaze, and went straight upstairs.

The entire villa was engulfed in darkness, pitch-black and terrifying.

Only the faint light from Giorgio's phone illuminated a tiny area.

His tall and broad-shouldered figure seemed so warm and safe at this moment.

Anna followed behind him, her room getting closer and closer. She dared not let out a breath and kept her gaze fixed on his muscular back, not daring to look elsewhere.

'Click.'

Giorgio pushed open the door and used his phone to scan the room.

"There's nothing here."

"That can't be possible. Take another look. She just walked up to my bed earlier, staring at me with a pale face. Her eyes were like holes, and it scared me," Anna said, her steps moving forward as she approached Giorgio's back once again.

Giorgio was a staunch atheist, but Anna spoke with such certainty and conviction that it didn't seem like she was lying.

He stepped into the room, meticulously scanning every place and corner.

Anna, too, boldly glanced around, hoping to find the ghost and prove that what she said was true!

In the dim light, each place she looked at seemed incredibly eerie, with the objects placed there appearing sinister.

The places where her phone couldn't be found seemed dark and as if something might jump out at any moment.

Her nerves were stretched to the breaking point, feeling tense.

Just as she was scared and on edge, suddenly, her ankle bumped into something freezing cold!

It felt like a dead person's hand!

"Ah!" she screamed, lunging towards Giorgio.

Giorgio was inspecting Anna's bed when he heard the sound and turned around. Before he could even see clearly, he was caught off guard by her leap towards him.

Then, with a loud thud, both of them fell onto the bed.

The phone in their hands fell to the side, covered by the blankets, and the light wasn't very bright.

Giorgio looked at the woman on top of him, his lips pursed.

Anna also realized the awkward position they were in, and her eyelashes fluttered continuously as she spoke with a weak and mosquito-like voice, "Someone... someone grabbed my foot..."

Although it was true, at this moment, for some reason, it seemed fake and childish.

Giorgio raised his hand, grabbed her slender waist, and pulled her down, staring straight into her eyes.

"Anna, there's no need to go through all this trouble to make excuses."

He still misunderstood her!

"It's not... I've said it many times, there really is a ghost, and just now, my foot was really..."

"Don't you think the excuse sounds childish?" Giorgio interrupted her words, his remarkably deep eyes locking onto her.

"A ghost, a hand grabbing your foot. Do you think anyone would believe that if you said it?"

Anna was speechless.

Giorgio continued, "Moreover, running to my room in your pajamas in the middle of the night, don't you think it looks more like an invitation, rather than a ghost?"
