Chapter 111 Sleeping Together
"You poor thing, your dad is so unreasonable." Penny frowned.
"The more I talk about him, the angrier I get. If I didn't know you were in the hospital and had to come to accompany you, I would've run away from home tonight. No, I must protest!"
"Ah? How do you protest?"
Charlie's black eyes turned, and finally said, "I'll ignore him and sever our father-son relationship."
Penny's little brain could no longer form sentences.
As soon as he knew Anna was sound asleep, he slipped out of bed and redressed.
He gave strict instructions to the staff to make sure 'Katherine' and the children were safe. They knew better than to disobey his orders.
Outside, he was referred to as the rich and handsome Giorgio.
But they knew him as 'Boss', the head of a vicious mafia family.
He had Tom drive him to the loading dock.
"We have him tied up in the warehouse," Tom said as he switched lanes in the sedan. "There are four men who watch him nonstop. We'll be there soon."
"Hm." Giorgio was focused on a request in his emails. A special organization for children had asked for a donation that would help young children who were suffering from illness and poverty.
The Sunshine Group. He had heard of them before. They were famous for changing lives all over the world and maintaining a number of businesses that were doing tremendously well.
Their leader, Renaldo, was featured on many magazines and was in a dating scandal that topped the list of the hottest searches for 10 months.
Giorgio didn't pay any mind to the rumors as he had worked with them on a project before, although he did not meet Renaldo.
He swiftly took out his checkbook and wrote a check for 16 million dollars to the Sunshine Group, then sealed it away in an envelope. He carefully placed it into a secret compartment in his bag.
Before long, they arrived at the docks.
Bang!
A bullet shattered the car window, causing Tom and Giorgio to duck and retrieve their weapons. There was a brutal fight going on outside, and Giorgio had an idea why.
He managed to pull some strings and acquire a number of specially issued guns to take out some officers who were getting too close, especially a specific detective. They weren't easy to get.
Whoever attacked them was probably here for that!
They used the car as a shield then went around it and took out the two men who were shooting at them.
The gunners dropped like flies.
They continued to shoot at whoever came across their path that weren't their men.
Upon seeing Giorgio and Tom, most of the attackers ran away on jet skis.
Only some of the bodies bleeding on the ground were of their men. It was a gruesome scene.
When he arrived at the warehouse the mole was supposed to be locked up in, he looked around then lowered his gun.
It wasn't like the five dead bodies inside could come back to life and attack him.
The dead man at the center was tied to a wooden column. Giorgio kept his finger on the trigger and approached him slowly. Tom and some of his other uninjured men watched his back.
Something reflected the light from outside.
Giorgio took it off the mole's shirt. It was a sun brooch. It looked completely clean as if it had been recently placed there. And awfully familiar.
Attached to it was a note.
"Remember Caroline," it wrote.
Giorgio was confused.
What the hell was a 'Caroline'?
...
In the early morning, bright sunlight shone on the earth, and everything was full of vitality.
Inside the room with heavy curtains, it was peaceful and warm.
Giorgio woke up and saw a woman's face right away.
Her head was resting on his shoulder, peacefully and obediently asleep. Her hand casually rested on his chest, without any restraint.
His eyes darkened, and he called her name in a low voice, "Anna."
Anna was still very sleepy and murmured, "Hmm, I want to sleep a little longer."
Her voice was soft, and her sleeping face blushed slightly, really adorable.
Giorgio's eyes darkened again. He raised his hand and gently brushed her cheek, saying, "If you move again, don't blame me for being impolite."
His voice was low and dangerous.
Anna was startled, suddenly opened her eyes, and realized that she was sleeping on his bed, still holding him!
She backed away like a frightened bird. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It's just a habit of mine to hold something while sleeping for security."
She couldn't help muttering, "You're the one who stole my bed."
Giorgio had never heard such a domineering explanation. His eyebrow raised. "You hugged me, and you blame me? Then if I touched you, can I blame you for sleeping in my bed? Hmm?"
Anna blushed and said, "Jerk, tonight I'll sleep on the couch!"
After speaking, she uncovered the blanket, got up, and went to the bathroom.
After finishing her morning routine and changing into clothes, Anna went downstairs. Sofia had already prepared breakfast.
"Mr. Vittorio, Mrs. Vittorio, breakfast is ready. Please see if it suits your taste."
Anna hadn't eaten all day yesterday and was so hungry that her vision blurred. Seeing the table full of dishes, a wide variety of them, she quickly sat down and started eating.
"It tastes delicious, thank you."
She drank her milk and picked up her fork to finish an omelet and some grilled bacon.
Sofia looked pleased.
However, what puzzled her was that she remembered Katherine as an elegant person, so why was she eating like this today?
Giorgio also naturally noticed Anna's eating habits.
He had seen many women, but she was the first to eat with such unreserved behavior.
Though it was cute, it didn't quite suit her.
"Cough." He coughed lightly as a reminder.
Anna looked up at him, elegant and poised across from her. "What's wrong? Is your throat uncomfortable? Take some medicine, don't let it develop into a cold and infect me."
Both Sofia and Giorgio became silent. a
Is this Miss Katherine, isn't it?
Why does it feel so different?
Anna noticed her probing gaze and curiously asked, "Is there something on my face?"
Sofia quickly shook her head, "No, no, no, it's just that Mrs. Vittorio seems different. Before the wedding, you were elegant and didn't have this attitude towards Mr. Vittorio..."
OMG!
She forgot that she was playing the role of Katherine!
No wonder Giorgio coughed earlier to remind her!
Anna felt embarrassed and awkward. "Um, well... Sofia, have you read books?"
"Well, of course I have." The Vittorio family's employees all have at least a bachelor's degree.
Anna asked again, "So after you finish the college entrance examination, do you go back to studying?"
"No. Why is Mrs. Vittorio suddenly asking this?" Sofia was puzzled.
Giorgio also didn't understand why she was asking such a boring question.
The next second, Anna answered their question with a smile, "So, chasing a man is the same. Once you've caught him and gotten married, naturally you don't have to be so restrained~"
Giorgio suspected that she had all sorts of strange thoughts in her mind.
Anna stuck her tongue out at him.
After dinner.
Giorgio drove back to the Vittorio mansion and said to Anna in the passenger seat, "Sofia is easygoing and easy to fool, but the people in the Vittorio mansion are not easy to interact with. Don't casually say those kinds of things you just said."
Anna didn't respond to his words but angrily said, "Can you help me catch those two kidnappers?"
Giorgio suddenly remembered, "I was busy yesterday and went to the hospital in the afternoon. You gave detailed information to Little Tony for him to investigate?"
Anna's eyes were sharp. "Hmm! We must find them! They caused me to fall into such an embarrassing situation. Once we capture them, I'll tear them to pieces and feed them to the sharks!"
Every word carried hatred, with a fierce tone.
Giorgio couldn't believe that she was so bloody-minded.
"With your current appearance, can you still go to the Vittorio mansion?"
Anna looked at him. "Is there a problem? Can I choose not to go?"
Giorgio smirked, "No, you cannot."
Anna didn't want to argue with him.
They fell into silence, and then she suddenly remembered the most important thing!
