Chapter 416 She Was Lying to Him

Elena held onto hope that Mr. Vittorio hadn't heard anything.

However, Giorgio stepped downstairs, looking down at them with an authoritative and inscrutable gaze. His voice shattered Elena's hopes.

"Not bad. Giuseppe, I didn't expect you to have such a capable assistant."

This was definitely not a compliment! In fact, at this moment, it was terrifying.

Elena's legs went weak.

It was over. Everything was over.

Even with Giuseppe's excellent adaptability, he was a bit flustered at this moment. After all, there was no way to explain plotting against Giorgio if he heard it.

He pretended to be calm. "Uncle Giorgio, Elena is indeed loyal and thinks for me. Uncle Giorgio, you..."

"Really?" Giorgio raised an eyebrow, interrupting Giuseppe.

He had already walked down the stairs and stood in front of Giuseppe, his words light but cutting.

"Do you know that for the past seven days, while I secretly met with Anna, she was always guarding in the yard?"

Giuseppe was shocked!

His pupils dilated as if he was hit by a magnitude ten earthquake!

With a thud, Elena fell to his knees.

To kill someone and destroy their spirit, causing heaven and earth to collapse! That was all there was to it.

Giorgio ignored the two and left with a noble and cold demeanor.

His posture was dangerous and terrifying, always that of a superior.

But as he got into the car, his face turned icy cold, more terrifying than the dead of winter.

Tony, sitting in the front seat, was dumbfounded. It had been cold enough before, but in just these few minutes, it had gotten even colder?

He shivered, not daring to speak.

Meanwhile, painful sounds echoed through the narrow stairwell. It was clear how agonizing the beating was.

After a full ten minutes, everything finally ended.

Elena, pale and sweating, carried the unconscious Giuseppe out.

Even though she was tortured to the brink of death each time, she still had to take care of Giuseppe and not expose his condition.

"Ms. Stefanelli, Ms. Stefanelli."

The painful voice called out.

Anna in the room snapped back to reality, quickly suppressing her complex emotions, and opened the door.

Then, she saw the pale-faced Elena carrying Giuseppe inside, looking very worried.

"What happened?"

Elena placed Giuseppe on the bed, not daring to say what had happened, only saying, "Mr. Vittorio just had an episode. I gave him a sedative. His condition is very unstable now. Please, Ms. Stefanelli take care of him."

Then, she went to the side to apply medicine to herself.

When she lifted her clothes, her body was covered in severe bruises!

Anna's face turned pale.

She hadn't expected the situation to be as Elena said, tortured by Giuseppe each time.

She truly admired that she could stay under such circumstances.

Suddenly, she felt a bit of sympathy for Elena.

After all, she had experienced it once; that night was an absolute nightmare.

"Apply your medicine first and take care of yourself. I'll watch over Mr. Vittorio. He shouldn't wake up for a while."

"Okay." Elena felt guilty seeing her being so good.

"Ms. Stefanelli, I'm sorry."

Anna looked at her in confusion.

The next second, thinking she was referring to her staying, she said, "It's nothing to be sorry about. I lost the bet myself, and I accept the consequences."

Thinking about Giorgio's attitude and decision, she still felt quite upset.

Elena couldn't bring herself to say anything more, so she just awkwardly smiled and continued applying the medicine.

In less than half an hour, Giuseppe woke up.

Seeing Anna, his eyes turned red, and he grabbed her wrist, sitting up.

"Secretly meeting behind my back. Couldn't you even last a month? Just one month!" His voice was filled with anger. The force was enough to break her arm.

Anna cried out in pain, "Mr. Vittorio, it hurts. It's not like that, listen to me."

"How could it not be! A girl who pretended to be obedient in front of me, promised not to meet him again, but ended up secretly meeting him in my house! I was such a fool. I thought you genuinely cared for me, that at least for this month, you'd stay with me peacefully. But it was all a lie, you and Elena kept me in the dark! Do you know how Uncle Giorgio looked at me, mocking me? He was saying, ‘you're an idiot, the woman is his, even Elena betrayed you, and you're still clueless, thinking everything is fine.’ I'm so ridiculous!"

He was angry, collapsing, self-deprecating, out of control, and ferocious. All kinds of emotions entangled him, driving him into madness.

His large hand gripped Anna's neck again.

"No, help, help." Anna struggled in pain.

Elena was terrified and rushed up. "Mr. Vittorio, calm down. If you keep choking Ms Stefanelli, you'll kill her."

However, no matter what Elena said or did, Giuseppe had lost his mind and wouldn't let go.

"Ms Stefanelli, wait for me. I'll get the sedative from the car."

She was truly worried something would happen to Anna and turned to run out.

Anna frowned tightly, desperately wanting to be saved.

But then she thought, Giuseppe's worst pain was during these episodes.

If he kept relying on sedatives, it would only have negative effects.

She struggled to speak, "No, no need. Sedatives are only temporary. Let's try something else."

Just as she finished speaking, Giuseppe's grip tightened again.

She struggled to breathe but endured it, raising her hand to hug Giuseppe's broad body, pulling him into her arms.

She patted his back to comfort him, explaining with difficulty, "Those days with Mr. Vittorio were just a delay. He thought there was a child. and I said we should completely cut ties, but it wasn't the right time. Other than drinking the soup he brought, we did nothing. It was really. Just half an hour ago, I told him to completely end it, no more entanglements, and he agreed. We won't have anything anymore."

Halfway through, Giuseppe's grip loosened a bit.

Anna could breathe and continued, "And Elena, she didn't betray you; she wanted to help you. She didn't tell you about me meeting Mr. Vittorio because Mr. Vittorio insisted on coming in because of the child. Elena couldn't stop him and didn't want to upset you, so she did that. And do you know, when she told me about your condition that day, I was shocked she still stayed by your side. Her answer was that she wanted to give you some warmth, to be with you. She is always been loyal to you."

With each word, Giuseppe's expression completely changed, from anger and ferocity to dumbfoundedness, disbelief, and then confusion.

His grip went from tight to loose, finally letting go.

Elena, both excited and guilty, sincerely apologized, "Mr. Vittorio, I'm sorry. If I had told you everything and the plan from the start, maybe you wouldn't be angry."

Giuseppe's brow furrowed slightly.

Anna glanced at Elena, signaling her to stop talking, then continued to comfort Giuseppe, "No one is hurting you or betraying you. Sleep now. I'll stay by your side, be good."

She spoke gently, like a mother soothing her child, very tenderly.

In no time, Giuseppe actually fell asleep!

It was amazing! So amazing!

Elena excitedly walked over. "Ms Stefanelli, this is the first time Mr. Vittorio has calmed down without medication. Thank you. Thank you."

Anna smiled faintly.

Actually, this condition was similar to Charlie's autism; it needed to be addressed from the heart.

She settled Giuseppe and got out of bed.

At this moment, a sudden phone ring broke the silence.

The caller ID showed: Giorgio.
