Chapter 454 Mr. Vittorio Is Really Angry
Elena rushed over in a panic.
"Ms. Stefanelli, stop provoking Mr. Vittorio! Beg him for mercy! If you keep this up, you'll really get hurt!"
Anna, despite Giuseppe's grip on her throat, remained defiant. She said in a choked voice, "I want to help you, but I don't like you. If I don't like you, I won't do even the smallest thing for you. You can't get everything you want by force, Giuseppe. You can strangle me all you want, but you have to understand that."
She was betting that Giuseppe wouldn't actually strangle her. He needed to grasp this concept to escape his paranoia.
Giuseppe's grip tightened, the veins on his arm bulging and his eyes filled with hatred. Anna was running out of air and her neck was numb. She thought she had lost the gamble. Just as she was about to give up, Giuseppe's grip suddenly loosened. His mind was a mess. He could hear voices screaming inside his head. Some things couldn't be forced!
His head ached, and he fainted.
"Mr. Vittorio! Mr. Vittorio!"
Giuseppe was rushed to the attending physician's private hospital. The doctor frowned. "Mr. Vittorio's mind is distressed. This trauma could either save him or push him deeper into the abyss."
Elena was desperate. "Doctor, please help him. We'll pay you the ten million dollars we promised."
The doctor sighed. "I'll do my best."
Anna and Elena were asked to leave while the doctor began psychological hypnosis and counseling. The outcome was uncertain.
Anna was worried, fearing Giuseppe might get worse. She lost track of time until her phone rang.
"Mommy, are we going back to the hospital or should we come get you? We're in the car and don't know the address."
'Charlie! Penny! It's already 5:30,' Annathought. She felt guilty for not picking up the kids.
"Take a taxi to the villa, I'll be there soon."
"Okay, Mommy."
Anna turned to Elena. "I need to take care of the kids. Stay here with Mr. Vittorio and call me if anything happens."
"But Ms. Stefanelli, Mr. Vittorio needs you," Elena pleaded.
Just then, the doctor came out. "Mr. Vittorio is awake and wants to see you."
Anna was torn. Giuseppe had woken up, so she couldn't leave immediately. She pursed her lips and walked in.
Giuseppe lay on the white bed, looking pale. His eyes, behind his glasses, showed little hostility. In fact, he looked quite peaceful.
"Mr. Vittorio? Are you okay?" Anna asked cautiously.
Giuseppe looked at her, his gaze deep and calm. After a long pause, he finally spoke. "Do you have something to do?"
Anna couldn't read his emotions but decided to be honest. "Yes, it's 5:30. Penny just got out of school, and I need to prepare her dinner."
She didn't mention Giorgio's birthday.
Giuseppe nodded. "Alright, you can go."
Anna was surprised by his submissiveness and lack of confrontation. "Thank you, Mr. Vittorio. I'll come back after I'm done."
She quickly took a taxi home. By the time she arrived at the villa, it was 7 PM. Charlie and Penny were already having dinner.
"Mommy, you're back," Penny said, running into her arms.
Charlie added proudly, "Auntie Anna, I took care of Penny and made dinner so she wouldn't go hungry."
"Good boy," Anna said, hugging and kissing them. "Charlie, where's your daddy?"
Charlie's expression darkened. "He's upstairs. He greeted Penny but didn't come down. I didn't ask him to join us. I made dinner, and I'm not giving him any! Auntie Anna, you shouldn't pay attention to him either!"
Anna wanted to explain but knew it was complicated. "Charlie, your daddy has a stomach problem, and it's his birthday today. You wouldn't want him to go hungry, right? Be good, I'll go check on him."
She went to the study and knocked on the door.
"Come in," came a cold, low voice.
Anna opened the door to find Giorgio at his desk, looking dignified and aloof. He wore a black shirt, his watch peeking out from his cuff. His well-defined wrist and hands were visible. The light from the computer highlighted his handsome features.
"Didn't I tell you to rest? Why are you working again?" Anna asked, standing beside him. "Come down and have some dinner, then go to bed early."
Giorgio, stern and calm, replied, "So now that you're all done with helping Giuseppe, you've remembered to come back?"
Why was he still angry?
"He was really sick, so I couldn't leave. Elena was there too," Anna tried to explain.
"Get out," Giorgio interrupted coldly.
His handsome face looked even more attractive under the light, but he was clearly furious. Anna felt scared and exhausted as she walked out.
As the door closed, Giorgio's expression turned even more grim. She left just because he told her to. She didn't deliver a gift when he asked. If she treated him so half-heartedly, and constantly had Giuseppe on her mind, he might not need her.
Frustrated, he tried to keep working but couldn't focus. He crumpled the paper and tossed it into the trash.
After a while, there was another knock.
"Mr. Vittorio, may I come in?" Anna's voice called.
Giorgio quickly got up, opened the door, and stared at her coldly. "You left, so why did you come back?"
