Chapter 172 Katherine is Pregnant with Their Second Child

Giorgio strode forward with his long legs. Simon had already taken Anna into the villa, while Carla remained dazed at the doorstep.

Seeing Giorgio, she immediately clung to him like a drowning straw and pulled him aside. "Giorgio, you've arrived. Anna brought Simon along, and he’s her boyfriend. She said she has something to tell us, but I don't know what kind of trouble she wants to cause. Ah, when she criticized you yesterday, I felt something was off, but I never expected Simon having such a powerful background, would give her so much confidence."

Her emotions were complex, filled with regret. On one hand, she was shocked that Anna had such a good boyfriend in Simon. On the other hand, she wondered if she had treated Anna wrongly before.

However, Giorgio's attention was caught by her latter sentence, and his eyebrows furrowed.
"She criticized me yesterday?"

Carla affirmed with a nod and said, "Yes, she came in and called you a despicable man, sat in front of Katherine's sickbed, and criticized you. She claimed you were the most bastard-like and least gentle man she had ever seen. She couldn't stand you at all."

The consecutive remarks made Giorgio's handsome face turn pale, and veins popped on his forehead.

Bastard-like? Least gentle? She had actually criticized him like this behind his back!

Completely unaware of Giorgio's anger, Carla felt a chill pass through her body like a cold wind, making her bones ache and shiver. She shrunk her body, worriedly asking, "Giorgio, what should we do? They wouldn't be doing something with Simon, right?"

Giorgio collected his thoughts and spoke with a chilling tone, "What are you afraid of? I want to see what she's capable of."

With those words, he walked straight into the room, exuding an undeniable presence and inherent strength.

In the living room, Anna had just sat down on the sofa when she saw Giorgio enter. Dressed in a black suit, black shirt, and black leather shoes, he seemed like a figure from hell, gloomy and terrifying.

Unexplainably, just seeing him made her feel fearful, causing her to subconsciously tighten her hand into a fist.

Simon held her hand, offering her reassurance, and then addressed everyone, "I have a flight back to Crownhaven at noon. Time is short, and since we’re familiar with each other, I'll get straight to the point. The main reason I am here today is to discuss Anna and Katherine's situation."

Carla naturally wouldn't be disrespectful to Simon, nor would she reveal her treatment of Anna to outsiders. She instructed Judy to make tea and smilingly said, "Mr. Dalio, Katherine's situation was unexpected. We had no choice but to temporarily have Anna stand in. You know, being part of a large family often means having little control."

Simon replied, "You may have your reasons, but I have the right to protect my girlfriend. I don't want her to replace another woman and be someone else's wife."

"Giorgio, we are friends. Friends don't let others take their wives. I believe you understand that, and you won't embarrass me."

The seemingly friendly inquiry concealed a moral dilemma of Anna playing this role.
Implied in the words was the ethical question surrounding anna’s involvement.

Giorgio's profound gaze scanned the obedient and quiet Anna sitting next to Simon.

She didn't express opposition or refute his words, effectively accepting the situation.

It seemed that she was genuinely prepared to leave the villa and not stay by his side.

He sneered, "Simon, you're overthinking. I have no interest in her. If it weren't for various reasons, she wouldn't be qualified to stay by my side."

Each word he uttered displayed his disdain for her.

Anna's heart tightened. She said, "Mr. Vittorio, I've come up with a plan. I will use Katherine's account to post an update later, stating that we are preparing for our second child and that I am resting comfortably at home. Then I'll buy the same bedsheets as yours and occasionally post pictures of me sleeping or making soup. With these actions, I can deceive everyone.

Finally, the doctor told me yesterday that as long as I give Katherine a blood transfusion, she should regain consciousness within two weeks. Then, you and Katherine can work hard to conceive a second child, and everything will end perfectly. So, Mr. Vittorio, rest assured. I won't be staying by your side anymore."

Every word was resolute, unwavering, and decisive. It was the strategy she came up with yesterday.

Carla and Fabio expressed their joy, "Really? Katherine will wake up within two weeks? That's great."

Giorgio's exquisitely handsome face didn't show the slightest hint of delight. Instead, he fixed his gaze on Anna's determined and aloof expression, his eyes icy, the colors around him became increasingly gloomy.

In just one day, she not only grasped her situation clearly but also came up with a strategy. How badly did she want to distance herself from him?

The key question was how he get Katherine pregnant with their second child? She talked about his affair with other women so naturally and fluently, as if she were completely indifferent! She was truly magnanimous!

Anna felt a chill run down her spine under his piercing gaze, not understanding what he was so angry about.

But she believed that his distrust stemmed from his open flirtation with Edith at the party. He was the one who felt she shouldn't have intruded on the wedding and he was the one who expressed disgust at her presence by his side. He had no reason or right to be angry.

This solution was beneficial to everyone.

She immediately averted her gaze and looked straight at Carla and Fabio and stated, "Yes, the doctor told me yesterday that blood transfusion between twin sisters is advantageous for the condition, and he is very confident about it. Hence, starting from today, I will be staying at the Stefanelli family and be readily available to give her blood."

Simon added, "You should all understand that Anna being at the Stefanelli family is to save Katherine, not to be a servant. If I hear any reports of her being mistreated , I will come and take her away without any hesitation. At that point, there will be no possibility of her donating blood to Katherine again."

This was definitely a warning.

Carla's face turned pale. She clearly understood the severity of the situation.

She quickly said, "Mr. Dalio, consider your words carefully. Regardless of the circumstances Anna is still my daughter. We the Stefanelli family, would never harm her. Rest assured, for the next two weeks, she will be well-fed, well-cared-for, and have a good place to stay. All of this to ensure Katherine's quick recovery and to restore everything to its original state."

Fabio, upon hearing that Katherine would wake up, naturally became excited and said, "Don't worry, she will be well taken care of. We’re not sadists who would mistreat her for no reason."

When self-interest was at stake, one would always bow their head.

Simon felt relieved and looked warmly at Anna. "Let's go, accompany me to the airport."

"Yes." Anna stood up and said to Fabio, "Please contact the doctor. After I drop Simon off, I'll return in the afternoon for the blood transfusion and begin the formal treatment."

Then, she followed Simon and left.

The image of the two leaving was something one would only see in a movie, inspiring envy.

Carla watched their departure and sighed, "They do seem quite compatible. If they were to get married, it would be beneficial for the Stefanelli family."

Fabio said, "If Anna wants to marry Simon, she still needs to employ some tactics. Let's not bring up the matter for now. I'm going to find the doctor."

"Yes, please hurry."

Both of them were in good spirits, oblivious to the dark and brooding expression on Giorgio’s face was as he sat on the sofa!

ANNA…

He silently repeated her name in his heart.

He wished he could crush her.
