Chapter 412 Completely Cut Off Relations with Uncle Giorgio

Anna looked up and saw Giuseppe walk in. This jerk had hurt her so much last night! She wanted to ruin him, but she knew she had to stay calm for Penny and her own future.

"Have you thought about it?" Giuseppe asked, standing by the bed like nothing happened.

Anna forced herself to stay composed. "Mr. Giuseppe, I appreciate you saving my life, but you've hurt me. I can't just accept you. I'll stay and cut ties with Mr. Vittorio, but I have a few conditions."

Giuseppe raised an eyebrow. He knew he had lost her after last night and hated his illness. He also resented how everyone liked Giorgio. Anna's reaction was expected.

He sat down and said, "Go on."

Anna laid out her terms: "First, no more hurting me. The house is under surveillance, and recordings go to my email. If you hurt me again, I'll retaliate. Second, don't touch Penny. She stays at Emerald Manor with Charlie until I leave. Third, burn all photos of me and Mr. Vittorio. If you leak them, I'll expose your affair with Katherine. Fourth, cooperate with the doctor and treat your illness. Fifth, if the Greenwood Project succeeds, let me leave in a month, regardless of your condition."

Giuseppe was surprised by her clarity and intelligence. He was even more shocked that she knew about his illness and wanted to help him recover.

Anna couldn't read his thoughts and thought he disagreed. "Mr. Giuseppe, you know I can't love you after what you did. My plan is the best for both of us. Otherwise, things will spiral out of control, and you'll suffer more."

"I agree," Giuseppe said suddenly.

Anna was stunned. "What? You agree?"

The surprise in her eyes was evident. Looking at the brightness in her eyes, Giuseppe thought no one had ever moved him like this before. He wanted to hurt Giorgio but ended up hurting himself the most. He was ready to move on too.

"I have one request. Cut off all contact with Uncle Giorgio for this month. It's the best way to respect me and avoid angering me."

Anna pursed her lips. She had already distanced herself from Giorgio in her heart. Now, she just needed to make it clear.

"Okay, I'll make it clear to Giorgio."

"Fine. That's settled then," Giuseppe said, formalizing their agreement.

Anna watched him leave and finally felt a bit of relief. She locked the door, went to the bathroom, and applied ointment to her wounds. Each mark was heavy and painful, but the emotional pain was worse.

For the next week, Anna stayed in bed, claiming she was sick. She worked on project from home and didn't go out. Giorgio avoided Giuseppe and brought her soup daily, never mentioning her 'abortion'. To Anna, he was just carrying out his responsibility for the aborted child. She just needed to wait a month, and it would all be over.

Giuseppe had been secretly treating his illness. The doctor said a good attitude and experiencing real emotions could help. Anna doubted it, but as long as he stayed healthy, she felt safer.

On the seventh morning, the project competition began. In the family meeting room, Viviana looked tired and pale in her wheelchair. She said, "Last time there were issues with the design. This time, I don't want any more problems. I'll pick the best design from the anonymous submissions. If there are issues, we'll go to the second best. No third round."

Everyone was excited and nervous. Ben, in charge of presenting, stepped forward and said, "Let's look at the first design."

As the image of a water city filled the screen, Ben couldn’t help but marvel at its beauty. He read aloud from the accompanying text, "With the project namedGreenwood project, our aim is to embody the splendor of nature. Water, being such a fundamental element, shapes this space into a breathtaking water city. Picture yourself enjoying the remarkable daytime scenery, savoring gourmet food, indulging in drinks, and being thoroughly entertained in the evening. Come nightfall, the city transforms, with lights dancing on the water's surface. And to top it all off, we're featuring renowned theatrical performances every night, turning this place into a living legend."

This proposal was a significant improvement on the previous plan. Viviana smiled in satisfaction. "This is good. Let's see the others."

Ben continued to read the other designs. They were all similar, with minor innovations on the previous plan or following a conceptual design. Viviana's expression turned unpleasant. She wanted fresh ideas, not rehashes.

Everyone looked at each other, realizing they had all used similar methods. Katherine was the most frustrated. She couldn't think of any other ideas, and the first design was hers. Now, she had no advantage. She cursed the others silently.

As everyone complained to themselves, the last design appeared on the screen.
