Chapter 18-19 (Revised) Anna the Amazing Woman
Click! The sound of the opposite door being locked resonated through Giorgio's mind.
He snorted.
That damn woman, did she think he would do something to her?
Thinking too much!
A peaceful night was followed by a bright morning.
"Daddy." Giorgio was still asleep when he heard Charlie's sweet voice.
He rarely called him by that name, so he opened his eyes, his expression filled with tenderness. "What's wrong? Hmm?"
Charlie reached out and pulled him, leading him downstairs.
Their steps were quick, their expressions joyful.
What could be happening so early in the morning?
Confused, Giorgio was pulled by Charlie to the garden, and then, he witnessed an unbelievable scene.
The rare and exotic plants in the garden had all been trimmed and transformed.
Round, chubby pandas, adorable rabbits, leaping goats, beautiful flower fairies... each one appeared lifelike, intricate, and full of charm.
Not only that, but the layout was also meticulously planned, perfect, like a magical animal world, a forest garden.
It was incredibly beautiful.
Charlie's heart was overflowing with joy. He walked up to a bunny, his smile brighter than ever before. "I like this one, I like all of them. Daddy, did you surprise me with these?"
His voice was innocent, his smile sweet.
Giorgio had never seen his son so innocent, saying so many words. For a moment, he didn't know how to respond, so he could only say, "You go and play first."
Then, as Charlie went off to play, Giorgio looked at Little Tony behind him. "Did you have someone trim it?"
Little Tony shook his head. "No, I was also surprised when I woke up this morning. If I had known that Charlie would like something like this, I would have found a master to learn the skill earlier, just to see Charlie smile."
It wasn't him?
Then who was it?
Curiosity filled Giorgio's mind. Little Tony said, "When I reviewed the surveillance footage, I saw that it was Anna who did the trimming."
Anna?
Giorgio raised an eyebrow, quite surprised.
Then he remembered that yesterday he had her clean the entire villa, deliberately making things difficult for her, thinking she would cry. He never expected her to transform the garden like this.
And she was just a young girl, yet she had such skill?
Giorgio gained a new understanding of Anna.
Little Tony sighed, thinking how much better it would be if Anna were Katherine and didn't have so many misbehaviors.
Anna woke up around noon, shocked, and fell off the bed!
11 AM, she had slept until 11 AM!
Oh, how embarrassing.
She quickly freshened up and went downstairs in surprise, only to see Giorgio sitting by the floor-to-ceiling window, reading a book. He actually hadn't gone to work!
Well, now her embarrassment was complete!
She awkwardly didn't know whether to greet with a good morning or good afternoon. When she saw Charlie, she quickly walked over and held him, saying, "Charlie, we said we would go buy new clothes yesterday, let's go."
Charlie responded with a sound and nodded, "Daddy, let's go."
"What... what?" Why did she have to call Giorgio?
Anna was surprised.
Charlie said, "It's the first time in my life buying clothes, daddy can't be absent, don't you want him to come?"
Uh...
"No, no." She definitely didn't want him to come, not at all!
Anna forced a smile, holding Charlie's hand, and walked out, getting into the car.
She sat in a seat near the side, with the seat blocking the view of that deity.
Giorgio noticed her little actions and his eyes became slightly colder.
This woman, shouldn't she be finding ways to get closer to him? Why was she showing resistance? Was she playing hard to get?
For the first time, Giorgio felt like he couldn't understand a person.
"Anna," he said authoritatively. He was speaking in a low voice so Charlie wouldn't hear their conversation, "Why did you do that?"
Anna frowned, "Do what?"
"The...thing. With the garden."
"Charlie liked it," her answer was simple, "A child deserves to live in a home made for a child. With colors and shapes and fun things. You haven't been treating him like a kid."
Giorgio was annoyed.
Who this woman think she was to tell him how to parent his own child? What did she know? Stupid, stupid woman.
Anna had no idea what Giorgio was thinking. As soon as the car arrived at the mall, she quickly opened the door and led Charlie out.
It was a multi-level outlet mall, all the stores were brand names she only ever dreamt of buying.
Charlie seemed excited, as if he had never been to a place like this before.
Anna led him to a kids' store, carefully selecting styles on the left and feeling the fabric on the right, being very meticulous and precise.
The trio attracted quite a bit of attention, especially with Giorgio there just doing his thing, making countless women swoon.
Giorgio didn't particularly enjoy this kind of place. His voice was low and commanding, "Pay attention to efficiency. Make it quick."
Anna looked at him and shook her head. "Mr. Giorgio, I'm sorry, but we can't rushed. Children have delicate skin, so we need to choose pure cotton fabrics and avoid any safety hazards. Clothes with strings, like these, can easily get tangled around the neck and are not suitable for children, so we have to be picky and take our time. If you can't wait, you can go and do something else. I will take care of Charlie."
Damn, was she ordering him or hoping he would leave?
Giorgio's face turned cold, and he ignored her.
Anna shrank into herself, continuing to pick out clothes with a bitter expression. It took the entire afternoon to finally select 30 sets of clothes that she was satisfied with.
Just as she was about to take Charlie and leave, a heavily made-up woman suddenly bumped into them.
Charlie, caught off guard, was pushed out, his small body hitting the railing.
"Bang!" The glass railing unexpectedly shattered, and Charlie's body lost control and started falling outward.
"Oh! Ah!"
"Oh my God!"
This was the second floor, with a height of exactly 6 meters. Falling from here would surely be fatal!
The people around, witnessing this sudden accident, were shocked, screaming in terror.
Giorgio was simply paying at the counter when he heard the noise and turned around, only to see Charlie's body flying out. His face suddenly changed color. "Charlie!"
He rushed over in quick strides.
However, just as he took a half step forward, Anna, who was standing very close, had already snapped out of her shock. Without thinking, she immediately threw herself forward and embraced Charlie.
Then, in front of everyone's eyes, the two of them fell down together!
"Ah!" The screams of the onlookers grew even louder.
Two seconds later, a 'thud!' sound came, the sound of their fall.
In an instant, chaos erupted on the upper and lower floors.
Giorgio never expected Anna to throw herself forward. He was momentarily stunned, but quickly regained his senses and turned to go downstairs.
In the spacious lobby, a crowd had already gathered.
On the huge inflatable castle, the two of them landed, with the child on top and the woman beneath.
"Thank goodness for the inflatable castle, or else it would have been disastrous."
"That mother didn't hesitate to throw herself out to protect her child. She's truly amazing."
"I wonder if they're okay."
Giorgio pushed through the crowd, taking steps towards them, quickly glancing at Charlie to confirm that he was okay before his gaze settled on Anna, who was underneath.
He saw her pale face, her beautiful eyes on Charlie, her eyebrows furrowed in obvious pain.
He asked, "How are you doing?"
Anna felt pain in her internal organs, but she couldn't afford to care about it. She looked at Charlie in her arms and asked, "How is Charlie? Is he hurt?"
Damn, at a time like this, she was still asking about the child!
Something tugged at Giorgio's heart. His gaze dimmed as he took Charlie away from Anna's arms. "He's fine, you lie down first."
Then, he took out his phone and called Tom. "Hurry over to Galaxy Square as quickly as possible."
Tom was at a nearby hospital and, upon hearing the situation, rushed over right away. "Little one, did you fall? How are you? Let Uncle check on you."
Charlie was Giorgio's most beloved treasure, the heir of the Vittorio family. He couldn't afford any accidents.
But...
"Charlie is fine. Check on her instead." For the first time, Giorgio prioritized checking on the woman rather than Charlie.
Tom was astonished. When did Giorgio start caring about others?
More surprised was Giorgio, when the words left his mouth. As soon as Anna had fallen, his heart had too. It was ready to jump out of his chest any moment.
He looked at Anna, whispering, "You alright?" He wanted to sound as nonchalant as possible, but he was afraid his voice would betray him, revealing the strange emotion to her.
Why was he feeling this? Especially for this random woman who had been nothing but trouble for him?
