Chapter 248 They Are Through

Just as she was about to leave, a strong hand pulled her into the corridor.
"Ah!" She screamed in surprise.
Giorgio took a step back, pressing her against the wall behind her as his hand landed on her lips.
"Go ahead and scream; attract some attention; get on the trending list again."
Anna instantly went silent.
She gazed in confusion at the handsome man in front of her, utterly perplexed. He told her to find him, so why did he come out first?
Moreover, his current proximity was quite stifling.
She raised her hands to his shoulders, pushing him forcefully, "Mr. Vittorio, the flight is about to depart; let me go."
Giorgio grabbed her hands, raising them above her head.
"No need to remind me about the flight. You mentioned it once in the text, and now you're saying it again. Do you really want to leave, or do you want me to delay you, or delay your flight?"
His voice was deep and hoarse, full of hidden meanings.
Anna's face turned red with anger, "I... I didn't mean that! Don't make assumptions!"
"So what do you mean? A simple greeting? Are we so close that we need to say goodbye?" Giorgio asked back, his tone clearly indifferent.
Anna's face turned red again; what was he talking about?! The more she explained, the more chaotic it became!
And in his eyes, they didn't even need to say goodbye...
A touch of sourness slid through her heart as she said. "Yes, we indeed aren’t close; I shouldn't have texted, and Mr. Vittorio, you shouldn't be blocking me like this, please let me go!"
Her voice was loud, and her aura was strong, like a hedgehog wrapped in thorns.
Giorgio's eyes narrowed. His grip tightened, and his gaze was fiercely locked on her.
"Just a few days ago, you were so nice to the married Simon, and now, you’re using this tone, this attitude, while speaking to me?"
His tone was mocking and questioning.
Anna's delicate wrists began to hurt, causing her brows to furrow.
What was wrong with her being nice to Simon? He wouldn't be as domineering and unreasonable as Giorgio! He wouldn't be as cold and heartless as Giorgio, thinking that even a greeting was unnecessary!
She retorted angrily, "Why is this any of your business? I can be kind to whoever I want and get angry with you if I choose. If you can't handle it, why don't you do something about it!"
The woman's attitude was overly defiant.
Her slightly raised chin was simply begging for a confrontation!
Giorgio's eyebrows furrowed. He raised his hand to tilt her chin upward, leaned down, and bit her protruding lips!
"Uh!" The pain was intense. Anna's eyes widened in shock, and her body froze in place.
He... he actually bit her?!
Damn!
It hurt!
She pushed him away angrily, her eyes red with fury as she gazed at him.
Her eyes were misty with pain, and her face looked pitiful, but she still looked very charming.
However, Giorgio was unmoved. His gaze fell on her red lips with bite marks, and his pupils deepened.
In the next moment, he leaned in again!
This time, it wasn't a bite, but a kiss! It was a domineering and aggressive kiss, as if he was staking his claim.
Anna froze. Her body became tense and rigid, as she incredulously stared at the man's exceptionally deep eyes.
What was he doing? If he had just bitten her because of what she had said, why was he kissing her now?
And... they were in an airport! Somebody could end up seeing them!
"Uh... let, let go of me..." Anna tried to struggle, to resist.
But would Giorgio let go?
Ever since she left without a word and spent the night with Simon, he had wanted to punish her, to tame her.
He invaded her city and occupied every area of her, not giving her a chance to resist or escape.
It seemed that only in this way could he relieve the irritation in his heart.
In front of him, Anna was like a deer caught in headlights, with no power to fight back.
In less than two minutes, she felt as if all the air had been sucked from her lungs. Her mind went blank, and she struggled to draw a fresh breath.
She felt uncomfortable, as if she had been wronged and humiliated.
Why had he said that they didn't need to greet each other?
Why did he kiss her when he wanted to?
She was a person, not a pet or a plaything that he could summon and dismiss at will!
The sound of footsteps echoed in the hallway as Anna's eyes welled up with tears.
Someone was coming!!!
If discovered, everyone would certainly mistake her for Katherine again, snap pictures for the news, and once Katherine and the Stefanelli family found out, they wouldn't let her off the hook!
Anna's heart pounded in her throat.
Worse still, she couldn't push him away; she couldn't hide; she couldn't free herself. As the sound of footsteps grew louder, tears streamed down her face.
"Please... please... let me go..."
Her pleading was intermingled with sobs, even her tears were flowing into her mouth, making the kiss bitter and salty.
Giorgio paused, releasing Anna. Upon seeing her tear-streaked face, full of hurt, his eyes darkened, looking colder than a winter storm.
Why did a kiss from him make her feel so aggrieved?
Her reaction infuriated him, angered him, and filled him with intense disgust!
If this was her attitude towards him, why did he need her?
He straightened up and stepped back, his voice cold as ice, "This is what you owe me; we are now even."
With that, he turned and left without hesitation, leaving no trace.
Anna, finally free, watched his cold, heartless figure retreat and let out a sigh of relief, yet filled with irony.
She never owed him anything. In his presence, it was always his word against hers; his decision whether they were even.
What did he take her for?
The footsteps were now just around the corner.
Travelers were already appearing in the hallway.
Anna quickly gathered her thoughts, wiped her tears, put on her mask, and hurried away with her head down.
"Miss Stefanelli, where have you been? I've been looking for you for a while." Giovanni greeted her with a worried look as she returned to the lobby.
Embarrassed, Anna didn't dare to mention her encounter with Giorgio and quickly changed the subject. "I'm sorry; I went to the restroom. Has the flight started boarding yet?"
While speaking, she noticed Penny was not in her seat. "Eh, where's Penny?"
Giovanni replied, "That's why I was looking for you. Your foster mother Wendy showed up at the airport looking for you, and Penny insisted on leaving with her. She said you should find her later, no matter how much I tried to dissuade her. They've probably already left the airport by taxi."
What?
Penny left with Wendy?
What the hell!
Unable to believe it, Anna, in her panic and worry, pulled out her phone and dialed Wendy's number.
"Hello? Penny is with me now. If you want your daughter, come find me." Wendy's voice was direct and crisp.
Frantically, Anna responded, "Wendy, you can't touch my daughter! If you dare harm a hair on her head, I will fight you!"
"Hello? Hello? Can you hear me?"
But no matter how she threatened, Wendy had already hung up.
Fortunately, a text message with her address came through shortly after.
Anna looked at the address, clenching her fist.
This address didn't seem like where Wendy lived. What was she planning?
No matter what, she had to get Penny back as soon as possible!
