Chapter 492 Mr. Vittorio Kidnaps Her
Anna plopped down in the grass, losing track of time until the bug bites on her legs got so bad she had to get up and hobble away.
She'd been running like a maniac earlier, tripped into some bushes, and now she was covered in scratches that stung like crazy.
She took a few shaky steps down the path. Next thing she knew, two tall dudes popped up in front of her. "Miss, you're coming with us!"
"Who the heck are you?" Anna felt something was off and tried to back away.
One of the guys stepped up and whacked the back of her neck, knocking her out cold, then they hauled her off. They'd been told not to hurt Anna, so this was the quickest and easiest way to get the job done.
They tossed Anna into a car and sped off.
When Anna came to, she was in a pitch-black room. 'Where the hell am I?' she thought.
The darkness was freaking her out. She got up and fumbled around for a light switch but found nothing! Her phone was gone too!
She couldn't help but wonder who the heck had kidnapped her. If it was Katherine, she was totally screwed!
"Hey! Let me out!!! Let me out!!!" Anna yelled at the top of her lungs. She hoped someone would show up so she could make a break for it.
But all she got was dead silence; there was no one around!
She gave up and curled back up on the bed, hiding in the farthest corner. She hadn't even avenged her grandma and Penny yet, and now she was about to die? She cursed herself for being so useless.
Just as Anna was feeling totally lost and confused, the door swung open. Suddenly, the whole room lit up. With the lights on, she could see the room was decked out in black and white, fancy but simple. The guy who walked in was dressed in a suit, looking all high and mighty.
It was Giorgio.
"Why is it you?" Anna was shocked and stunned. Even disguised as an old woman, with gray hair and a face full of wrinkles, she couldn't hide the sparkle in her eyes.
Giorgio glanced at the wound on her knee, his gaze deepening. He walked over and looked down at her, asking coolly, "Instead of asking me, why don't you explain why you showed up in Crownhaven and tried to get close to Katherine?"
'So, he nabbed me to get back at me for Katherine,' she thought. Anna felt a pang of distress. At this moment, she wasn't freaking out; instead, she felt oddly calm. His care for Katherine not only broke her heart but also made her revenge plan even tougher.
She took a deep breath and said, "Mr. Vittorio, I was just bored and acted on a whim. If I scared your wife, I'm sorry."
'Wife? She can say that with a straight face!' he thought. Giorgio's face turned icy, and he warned, "If that's your answer, don't blame me for being ruthless and sending you to prison."
'Prison! For Katherine, he's actually gonna send me to prison!' she thought. Anna laughed and suddenly looked at him, foolishly asking, "Mr. Vittorio, have you already stopped liking me? During these days, was there ever a moment you cared about me?"
Her weak voice was like a pebble dropping into Giorgio's heart, causing ripples. His hand in his pocket tightened. He stepped forward, bent down, and grabbed her chin, staring into her eyes, questioning, "What right do you have to ask such a question?"
Indeed, she had no right. She didn't even have the right to be in front of him.
Giorgio's aura was ice-cold, his eyes deep and terrifying, making Anna's whole body tense up.
In fact, she found it ridiculous to ask that question. If he cared even a little, he wouldn't have been clueless about her car accident, Elodie's death, and Penny's serious illness. Nor would he have moved on so fast with Katherine, doing all those intimate things.
She gave a bitter smile and said, "You are right; I shouldn't have asked. Mr. Vittorio, you don't need to be so pissed because of me."
'Is this her attitude and explanation?' he wondered.
"Angry because of you? You're overthinking." He let go of her chin coldly and continued, "If you don't spill the real reason, neither your Simon nor your ex-boyfriend Giuseppe can get you out of here."
His words left Anna stunned. Before she could ask, he was already out the door, and it slammed shut behind him.
Anna sadly realized it was a high-end fingerprint lock, no way to force it open. And the room had just one window, which wouldn't budge, and outside was nothing but endless darkness!
For Katherine, he actually locked her up!
No way, she couldn't stay here! Penny's condition was already bad, and she had nightly calls to sing lullabies and give her pep talks. And Sara was alone out there, clueless about Crownhaven.
She yelled, "Giorgio, open the door! I have stuff to do! Sara will freak out, Penny really needs me! You can't keep me here!"
No matter how much she screamed, there was no response from outside.
Anna gradually slid to the ground, her heart growing colder and heavier. She never knew the once gentle and affectionate Giorgio could be so terrifying.
Outside, Giorgio sat on the living room sofa, his noble and handsome face expressionless. No one knew what he was thinking.
He glanced at Anna sitting on the ground in the surveillance, his brows furrowing tighter and tighter. He got up, just about to leave, when a severe pain surged in his stomach, and he collapsed onto the sofa.
Anna fell asleep on the ground that night. In the middle of the night, a bone-chilling cold woke her up. She opened her eyes and only found silence.
The clock on the wall showed 4 AM. 'At this time, Giorgio should be back with Katherine,' she thought. She immediately stood up, trying to find a way out.
In the end, Anna found that the small window in the bathroom led to the balcony. She struggled to climb out, ready to escape. However, as soon as she got downstairs, she saw Giorgio collapsed on the sofa. His posture was not as elegant as usual, his handsome face pale, and his brows tightly furrowed.
"Giorgio? What's wrong with you?" Anna almost instinctively ran over, not caring about being discovered, and checked on him. The scars from the wounds she had inflicted on him before were still there.
The sweeter the past, the more painful the present. She quickly suppressed her thoughts, took out the medicine from his pocket, and planned to feed it to him.
But Giorgio's thin lips were tightly closed, making it impossible to feed him. Anna had no choice but to put the medicine in his mouth, take a sip of water, and lean down, covering his lips and sending the water in.
For the first time, she approached him and kissed him while he was unconscious. She found that he was really good-looking, with long eyebrows, fair skin, and red lips, perfect without any flaws.
However, thinking of him kissing and touching 'Katherine' last night, she felt uncomfortable and quickly used her tongue to push the medicine deep into his throat.
Just as she was about to back away, Giorgio suddenly raised his hand and grabbed the back of her head, continuing their kiss. At the same time, his overly handsome and deep eyes opened, looking at her intensely. His eyes were like a sea of stars, brilliant and dazzling, drawing her in.
At that moment, Anna's breath stopped! For some reason, she held a ridiculous expectation, unable to make any move or resist his kiss. She was just immersed in his warm breath.
