Chapter 200 Truth or Dare Adventure

Charlie was fretting over whether he had made the wrong decision. Not daring to speak the truth, he blurted out an excuse:

"It's nothing. I just think Mr. Dalio is really nice, daddy never takes me to amusement parks or for yummy food."

Was that enough reason to lock himself in the bathroom?

But to be fair, Giorgio was indeed too busy with work to give much thought to Charlie.

Anna comforted him,"Daddy wants to give you a better home, and he carries the responsibility of the whole family on his shoulders. The fact that he can spend every night with you already makes him a qualified father. Later, Anna will talk to him and ask him to try to make some more time for you. Don't be sad, okay?"

"Mm-hmm." Charlie nestled into her embrace, soaking up her unique warmth.

Outside, Giorgio, who was about to enter the lounge, overheard their conversation, his gaze deep and inscrutable.

From last night to this morning, even before, Anna's attitude toward him had been neither cold nor warm. He thought she would badmouth him behind his back, as it wasn't the first time.

To his surprise, she was actually comforting Charlie? Speaking well of him? She was indeed an enigma.

Giorgio put aside his thoughts, opened the door, and walked in, his gaze falling on Charlie, who was in Anna's arms. He said:

"Your birthday is the day after tomorrow. Think about what you want to do; I can make some time to be with you."

"Really?" Charlie's eyes widened in disbelief, not expecting that his casual excuse would lead to such a pleasant surprise.

Giorgio hummed affirmatively,"But tonight, Anna and I have something to do. You go back to your grandmother’s "

"Yay, that's great! I can go to the amusement park with daddy!" The little boy’s voice was filled with excitement and joy.

For the first time in his life, he was going to play with daddy!

Charlie felt that maybe daddy wasn't so bad after all. As Anna had said, daddy had the great responsibility of the Vittorio family, was busy with official duties, yet still came home every night to sleep with him or took him along on business trips. He really was a pretty good father.

Maybe after he really got together with Anna, he would be even better than Mr. Dalio.

His mood suddenly brightened,"Daddy, I miss grandma so much, I'm going back now."

Then, he whispered into Anna's ear,"Daddy's stomach isn't very good, help him drink less at the socializing tonight."

Anna was taken aback, Giorgio’s stomach wasn't very good? Before she could react, the little guy had run off.

She could only say: I'll try my best.

At seven o'clock in the evening.

The car stopped at the Golden Club.

This was a luxurious club that combined singing, drinking, and fine dining—a playground for the wealthy.

Little Tony reminded cautiously,"Mr. Vittorio, Miss Stefanelli, the clients we're meeting tonight are all people Katherine has met with Mr. Vittorio before. We need to prepare more thoroughly."

Having met before meant they needed to be more careful, otherwise, any discrepancy in behavior could raise suspicion.

"Why do I have to come?" Anna didn't understand; she would rather stay at home and get through these days.

Giorgio's gaze returned from the distance, his voice cold:

"We're being followed. If you want to give us away, feel free to go back."

What? Being followed?

Anna glanced around subtly and indeed spotted a suspicious figure!

Her brows furrowed,"I seem to have seen that person before at the company downstairs. Could they have been following us these past few days?"

Giorgio didn't confirm or deny.

Anna was stunned, then realized it must be someone from the Vittorio family.

As to who it was, she didn't know, nor did it matter.

At this moment, she was relieved that she had sent Penny back to Vista Heights and that they hadn't done anything over the past few days.

"Giorgio, wait for me." Anna quickly caught up with Giorgio and took his strong, lean arm.

Her attitude was gentle and proactive, her actions natural, completely different from before.

Only by playing Katherine well could she retire safely and unharmed.

How could Giorgio not understand her thoughts?

Looking at her endearing demeanor, his face showed no emotion as he stepped into the elevator with a noble and steady gait.

Upon reaching the private room, several foreign business partners who were sitting on the sofa stood up and greeted them warmly:

"Mr. Vittorio, Mrs. Vittorio, long time no see."

"You two seem even more loving than before."

"There's a saying that marriage is the graveyard of love, but Mr. and Mrs. Vittorio seem like a perfect fairy tale."

Giorgio smiled lightly, shaking hands with each of them, his demeanor noble and polite:

"There's also a saying that newlyweds are sweet and loving."

"That phrase sounds good, working with Mr. Vittorio not only leads to successful projects but also teaches me many phrases," one of the men said happily.

The others echoed,"Yes, the last overseas bid was a success, with a profit increase of five percent, quite unexpected."

"Mr. Vittorio is truly a business prodigy."

One after another, they began discussing the project.

Anna didn't understand a word, relieved that the topic wasn't about her.

It seemed she just needed to be a supportive presence, right?

Just as she thought so, they shifted the topic:

"Stop, we're getting off-topic. We agreed not to talk about work tonight, just life."

"Yes, let’s talk about Mr. and Mrs. Vittorio."

"We've specially prepared a game that's popular in your country—Truth or Dare."

Anna was speechless; a game she played in high school, and they were still playing it now? The key issue was that in such games, girls often ended up at a disadvantage.

She squeezed out a smile awkwardly "How about another game?"

Giorgio had played games before, and he wasn't very fond of those rules:"How about playing ball?"

Several shook their heads, saying:

"No, when the waiter introduced the games earlier, we thought this one was the most fun and most suitable for you."

"I've never played it before, it's a good opportunity to try."

"Miss Stefanelli can't handle it? Oh, why have you become so restrained after becoming Mrs. Vittorio?"

"..."

Anna was tired; she had forgotten that Katherine probably loved to play games with Giorgio, and moreover, such clubs rarely recommended this kind of game.

So, was it specially recommended by someone? To covertly observe?

She looked at Giorgio and then smiled at everyone,"No, I just got tired of it before. Since you all like it, then let's play."

"Great." Everyone quickly sat down on the sofa, preparing the props.

Giorgio grabbed Anna's hand and pulled her next to him, asking in a low voice,"What are you doing?"

Anna, worried about being discovered, hugged his wrist as if intimately, smiling while actually saying:

"We might be under surveillance, don't worry, this game is child's play, we'll just improvise."

Truth or Dare was nothing more than kissing, hugging, drinking, or saying risqué phrases. When the time came, she could just fob them off.

That's how Anna prepared herself.

However, what she didn't expect was that the game would deviate completely from her expectations!

The first game, and the loser was Giorgio.

The blond man said,"Mr. Vittorio likes taking risks in business, so he should like them in games too.

This time, no drinking, we'll punish Mr. Vittorio by..."
