Chapter 333 Our Relationship as a Couple
Moreover, her attitude, regardless of the perspective, appeared as though he had offended her.
Anna returned to North Court.
Penny had already awakened and was seated on the bedside, clutching it tightly.
Upon seeing Anna, the secretary immediately approached her. "Ms. Stefanelli, you finally came back. I prepared lunch for Ms. Penny, but she refused to eat."
"Mommy, I don't know him. I thought he was a bad person." Penny instantly jumped off the bed and ran to Anna's side, hugging her leg, and murmured, "He looks like a bad person."
The secretary was speechless. What made him look bad?
"Sorry, it was just a child's joke," Anna apologized awkwardly, scooping up Penny. "Remember to be kind and polite to everyone."
"Okay, it's not his fault for seeming that way. It's my fault for saying it," Penny sincerely reflected.
Such introspection from a child seemed unnecessary.
The secretary felt even more disheartened, but he refrained from engaging with a child in argument. "Ms. Stefanelli, would you like assistance with your luggage, or would you prefer to handle it yourself?"
Staying at the Stefanelli family was something Anna didn't want, but there were some things that needed to be clarified. Silence wouldn't solve anything.
Besides, she still had to pick up Sara.
"I'll go back on my own, it's just not convenient to get a taxi outside. Can you please drop me off?" Anna asked.
The secretary nodded and replied, "Sure."
After Penny finished her lunch, Anna texted Giuseppe to inform him of her departure before driving to the Stefanelli family residence.
Anna opted not to bring Penny along, fearing Davide's demeanor might frighten her. She entered the Stefanelli villa alone.
"So, you've finally decided to return? I thought you wouldn't show your face after vanishing for days," Dylan, seated on the sofa engrossed in fashion magazines, taunted Anna's arrival in the living room.
During the day, Davide had to go to work, so Dylan was the only one at home.
Looking at her superior posture, Anna often felt like she wasn't her biological child.
Unfortunately, after experiencing imprisonment, she saw all of this in a different light. There was no need to entangle herself with unworthy people.
She replied, "Yes, today I moved to Giuseppe's private residence, and I won't be coming back. Don't worry, I won't post anything inappropriate online, I will only talk about having a good relationship with my boyfriend and living together. This way, you won't have to see me as a nuisance, and I won't have to act with you. We can each live our own lives."
Her attitude was calm, light, and even friendly.
Dylan was taken aback. Obviously, she didn't expect Anna to leave so easily. After all, she thought Anna would covet the family property or torment them.
So now, Anna was living with Giuseppe? Moving out naturally eliminated gossip, and although Giuseppe was not as outstanding as Mr. Vittorio, he was still an excellent person. If they could have really gotten married, it would have solved the problem of their daughter, and she would have had a good son-in-law.
Great!
A smile appeared on Dylan's face. "Young people these days, they prioritize love. Since my daughter has grown up and can't be kept anymore, I won't force you. If there is anything that Giuseppe needs our support with, you can contact us," she said. Her words were pleasing; she just wanted to have a rich son-in-law like Giuseppe.
Anna didn't expose her lie and simply replied, "Yes." She walked back into the courtyard and packed her belongings and daily necessities.
As for Sara, she wasn't around and her phone couldn't be reached, so Anna decided to move her things first and discuss later.
In just half an hour, Anna finished packing. She left under Dylan's insincere show of enthusiasm.
She didn't feel any nostalgia, just a cold heart. People often said that a daughter who got married was like a bird leaving the nest, but before she even had the chance to get married, Dylan seemed eager to push her out, quite cruel.
Fortunately, everything in the future was going to be bright. She had to embrace life again and take care of Penny diligently.
Soon, the car arrived at North Garden.
Anna got out of the car and called for Penny to come out and take her toys, but Penny was nowhere to be found!
When she left, she asked Penny to watch TV in the living room and made it clear that she couldn't wander around. Penny was a well-behaved child and would wait for her obediently.
But at that moment, there was no one in the house, no response despite calling out a few times.
"What's going on? Where's my child? Help me find her!" Anna was anxious, like an ant on a hot pan.
The secretary comforted her, "Ms. Stefanelli, don't worry, it's safe here. I'll check the surveillance footage."
"Yes, let me know if you find anything," Anna said, stepping out into the courtyard and thoroughly searching both inside and outside, then tracing the path through the courtyard.
There were pavilions, towers, gardens, and lotus ponds along the way. Although the scenery was beautiful, her heart was tight.
Penny couldn't swim, what if she fell in?
"Penny? Penny, where are you?" Anna's urgent and worried voice echoed throughout the courtyard.
As Giorgio emerged from Viviana's room and made his way toward his own courtyard, he caught the sound of a voice and glanced over, spotting Anna wandering in the woods with an anxious expression. Furrowing his brows, he approached her and inquired, "Is Penny here?"
Anna was slightly surprised, but then she didn't have time to think much. She nodded and said, "Yes, I originally let her play in Giuseppe's courtyard while I went out for a while. When I came back, I couldn't find her. I'm worried that she got lost and accidentally fell into the pond."
Upon hearing this, Giorgio's thick eyebrows furrowed.
Penny was playing in Giuseppe's courtyard? Her relationship with Giuseppe had become so close that Penny was brought along?
Regardless, the child's safety was important.
He reassured her, saying, "Don't worry, the pond in the courtyard is equipped with automatic alarm equipment. If she fell in, there would be an alarm."
The news was a relief for Anna.
"Ms. Stefanelli, wait!" the secretary rushed over, greeting Giorgio politely. "Mr. Vittorio," he acknowledged. Then, he turned to Anna. "Ms. Penny is fine. She saw a cat at the entrance and followed it out. Later, she met Charlie, who was looking for the cat, and went back to Mr. Vittorio's villa with him."
Anna's anxious heart settled down. "Thank you, you can go back. I will go and pick up Penny and then pack our bags."
"Alright, I will move your belongings to your room. Call me if you need anything," said the secretary.
"Yes." Anna waited for the secretary to leave before heading toward Giorgio's private villa.
But there were roads all around. Which one should she take? She politely asked, "Giorgio, which way should I go?"
Giorgio's deep gaze swept over her without answering her question. Instead, he asked, "Luggage? Are you moving to Giuseppe's estate?"
His voice was muffled, carrying a hint of heaviness, radiating an invisible aura.
Anna stiffened for a moment, then nodded. "Yes, Giuseppe is very good to me. He's busy taking care of the elderly and has work to do. I didn't want him to exhaust himself by visiting me at the Stefanelli family home, so I decided to move in with him. It's simple and easy."
The girl spoke casually, naturally, with a look that showed her concern for Giuseppe, but a trace of annoyance surged in Giorgio's heart. He raised an eyebrow. "I didn't know when you two became so close?"
Anna said, "Do I need to report my relationship with him to you, Giorgio? Do you have so much free time that you need to meddle in my private life?"
