Chapter 509 Ten Years, Trapped in One's Own Web
Anna was totally floored seeing Katherine there, and she froze, completely caught off guard.
Luckily, Giorgio stepped in, pulling her aside and keeping her out of Katherine's reach.
He shot Katherine a cold look and warned, "Watch yourself, or you'll regret it."
Katherine, fuming, had thought Anna was in a coma and she'd never see her again. She never expected Anna to be alive and back with Giorgio!
She snapped, "Giorgio, I get it now. You were just being nice to me to show off to her, right? You invited me to the villa because she was here, didn't you?"
She finally realized that the hairpin belonged to Anna.
Katherine found a reason for all of Giorgio's weird behavior.
She kept accusing, "You never planned to be with me and work on our marriage. I was the only one dumb enough to believe it."
With that, she sneered, her eyes cutting into Anna like knives, "What's so great about her? Why are you so obsessed with her? Anna, I'm going to kill you."
" screamed.
Before Katherine could grab her, Giorgio shoved Katherine away. She hit the ground, looking a mess. "Ah!" Katherine screamed.
Giorgio looked down at her with disdain, "You still don't get it. Our divorce has nothing to do with Anna; it's all on you."
Ten years of waiting and effort, and all she got was, "It's all on you."
Katherine got up, laughing bitterly, "If you had cared for me even a little, I wouldn't have been with Giuseppe. You haven't even provided me with the basic essence of a romantic relationship. Did you expect me to live like a widow forever?"
Then she added, "You say it's not because of Anna, but it is! You wouldn't even get a marriage certificate with me because of her!"
"Enough!" Giorgio cut her off coldly.
He didn't want to waste any more time on this unreasonable Katherine.
"Let's settle the divorce peacefully. Otherwise, I don't mind putting everything online. Anna, let's go."
He took Anna's hand, ready to leave.
"Giorgio, I want to talk to her alone," Anna suddenly said, her eyes serious and determined.
Giorgio's eyes darkened a bit, "In her state, she might hurt you. Come inside with me."
"It's okay. Don't worry, I'll be quick." Anna grabbed another umbrella and opened it, signaling Giorgio to go inside first.
Reluctantly, Giorgio warned Katherine and then left.
As soon as he was gone, Katherine sneered, "Anna, flaunting Giorgio's care and affection in front of me, you really have no shame. Seeing me like this now, you must be so proud, right? You're just a bitch. I won't let you get away with this!"
Anna let Katherine rant, her face showing no anger, just growing colder and more distant.
When Katherine finally stopped, Anna said, "No, I'm not happy at all. If I could, I'd want you to give me back my grandmother's life."
Katherine was stunned.
Anna continued, "That car accident was your doing. You wanted to kill us all. A few years ago, when my grandmother met you, she must have said something you didn't like, and you pushed her down the mountain in a fit of rage!"
Anna went on, "Then you pretended to be kind, saying you'd take care of her for me, but really, you were controlling me. You killed her!"
Her voice was filled with anger and she trembled.
Katherine's face turned pale.
Yes, she was the mastermind behind that car accident because she couldn't let Anna live in this world any longer!
And it was true that she had pushed Elodie down the mountain!
Back then, Fabio had just gotten sick, and the doctor said he might need a kidney transplant within a year. Her parents suggested she donate, but she couldn't bring herself to do it.
Regardless of whether it affected her health, she must not be someone who was missing an organ!
So, she suggested Anna donate instead. Her parents thought it was a good idea, so they told her to get close to Anna to make her willing to donate in the future.
But then Elodie overheard her phone call on the mountain and said she would tell Anna and stop her from going to Crownhaven.
In a fit of rage, she pushed Elodie down the mountain.
At that moment, Katherine snapped back to reality, glaring at Anna and saying, "Is that so? Then what proof do you have? Don't think you can pin everything on me!"
Anna sneered, her voice deepening. "You don't need to admit it or deny it. My grandmother told me everything when she woke up. But it doesn't matter now. Just the fact that you bribed the doctor is enough to convict you. Katherine, I'm sending you to prison."
Hearing that, Katherine trembled violently and grabbed Anna's shoulders, yelling, "What are you planning to do? You can't do that!"
"Can't?" Anna looked at her firmly and retorted, "In the past, I put up with you for the sake of our sisterhood, even enduring your bullying. But you absolutely shouldn't have hurt the people I care about the most. I won't show you any mercy now."
She continued, "Katherine, you will go to prison! And I'll be with Mr. Vittorio, happy and in love."
She finished her words clearly, pushed Katherine away forcefully, and walked towards the villa, leaving Katherine screaming and crying desperately in the rain!
'Anna, you bitch! Why are you doing this to me!' Katherine cursed inwardly.
Before entering the house, Anna turned to look at Katherine's broken state, feeling no satisfaction or sense of revenge.
She wished none of this had ever happened, that her grandmother was still alive and Penny wasn't in the ICU.
"Go upstairs, take a hot shower, and change your clothes," a magnetic voice sounded.
Giorgio walked up to Anna and carried her in his arms, his embrace broad and warm.
Anna looked at the elegant and noble Giorgio, feeling furious and depressed,, and she leaned on his shoulder, breaking down in tears.
If she had been more cautious with Katherine a few years ago, her grandmother wouldn't have been pushed down the mountain.
If she had had money a few years ago to treat her grandmother, Elodie wouldn't be in a vegetative state.
If she hadn't agreed to Katherine half a month ago, her grandmother wouldn't have died.
Deep down, Anna still thought it was herself who had caused her grandmother's death and let Penny suffer.
Thinking of that, she couldn't resist crying, tears streaming down her face, body trembling, and she felt helpless.
Her tears soaked Giorgio's white shirt, and his heart softened.
He didn't say a word, just gently patted her, staying by her side.
After a full half-hour, Anna was still sobbing.
Giorgio finally spoke, "Stop crying, okay? If you keep crying..."
He had intended to threaten her, but when the words came out, he couldn't bear to, so he changed his tone. "I'll cry with you."
What would the high and mighty Giorgio look like when he cried?
Thinking of that, Anna laughed through her tears, looking up at Giorgio with her tear-stained eyes, asking, "Can the video in that USB drive convict Katherine?" She wanted Katherine to face the punishment she deserved.
Giorgio's eyes deepened as he placed her in the bathroom, saying, "Yes, but there's a bit of a problem."
