Chapter 70 Three Days

Oh, this child!

Could she pretend to be innocent?

"Penny misunderstood. When I took care of Charlie before, she thought I was pursuing Mr. Vittorio and I haven't explained it clearly yet."

So that's what happened.

Simon's eyes softened and he looked gently at Penny. "That uncle has someone he likes now, he doesn't like your mommy. In the future, I will be your future daddy and you can come to me for anything, alright?"

Penny felt a sense of loss in her heart. It turned out that her future daddy didn't like her mommy and had someone he liked. That's why he didn't agree to let her attend the parent-child activity.

"Will you pick me up from kindergarten and accompany me to the parent-child activities?"

How much did this little girl want to show off to her friends that she had a daddy!

She quickly said, "Penny, it's impolite to make demands to someone you just met."

Penny pursed her lips.

Simon smiled and gently embraced her, lifting her up. "Okay, I will pick you up from now on unless there are special circumstances. And how long is this parent-child activity? I will arrange my schedule."

"It's this Friday, tomorrow!"

"Alright, I will definitely go."

"Yay! I love you, future daddy!" Penny cheered, hugging Simon and pecking his cheek twice.

Anna was speechless. Was this little girl so easily fooled? She changed her mind so quickly and didn't want Giorgio anymore?

Giorgio, at this moment, was driven crazy.

After finishing the video conference, he came downstairs from his study and saw Katherine instead of Anna.

"Where is she?"

"Mr. Dalio came to pick her up. She left with Mr. Dalio," Katherine explained.

Giorgio's handsome face turned cold as he immediately took out his phone and sent a message to Anna:

"If you can't come up with a solution in three days, then..."

Waiting for a result, he received no reply for an entire hour. Feeling deep pressure and frustration, he quickly finished his meal and returned to his room.

"Call Anna and tell her you miss her," said Giorgio.

Charlie, his beautiful little face filled with curiosity, responded, "But it's already nine o'clock. Anna should be sleeping."

"Just call her. If you don't want to, then she doesn't need to take care of you anymore," Giorgio replied with a cold expression, annoyed at the thought of Anna and Simon being together late at night.

Charlie nodded obediently and immediately dialed Anna's number, but no one answered.

No response to text messages, no answer to phone calls, what can they do?

Giorgio exuded an icy aura, more terrifying than any flesh-eating monster.

Charlie's eyes darted around and he suggested, "Daddy, don't worry. I'll call Penny and ask."

Finally, the call went through.

"Penny, it's Charlie," he said.

"Charlie, your voice sounds so nice. I miss you. Why did you call me?" Penny replied.

Charlie glanced at his intimidating father and wanted to say that he was forced to call. However, he spoke softly instead, "I'm just thinking about Anna. Did she get home safely? Why isn't she answering her phone?"

Penny reassured him, "Mommy safely arrived home. Right now, she and future daddy are in the room organizing things. They probably didn't hear the phone. Charlie, don't worry, okay?"

Furrowing his eyebrows, Charlie asked, "Future daddy?" If he remembered correctly, Penny called Giorgio "future daddy," not just "daddy."

The next second, Penny answered his question:

"Well, your dad doesn't like my mom, and conveniently, there's a handsome uncle who likes my mom and is willing to accompany me to kindergarten's parent-child activities. So, I call him my new future dad. Don't worry, I won't compete with you for dad anymore."

Charlie stayed silent.

Beside him, Giorgio said nothing. Anna and Simon are together, and Penny has accepted Simon as her dad!

Damn, they act so decisively!

Bang! He kicked a small stool in front of the bed, filling the air with a suffocating atmosphere...

Outside the door, Katherine's hands clenched in anxiety as she overheard the commotion.

After many years of being together, she knew Giorgio's reserved and rational character very well. He rarely lost his temper or got angry. But now, regarding Anna, his emotions were not just like, but at least possessive, as a man. If things continued this way, it would surely spiral out of control.

Is Anna really dating Simon now?

Good, it's a chance to create distance between them...

After sending Simon off, Anna took a shower and lay in bed, feeling like everything was a dream.

A perfect, flawlessly handsome man, with the same appearance as Alessandro, became her boyfriend and treated Penny so well. Was it a reward from heaven for her pitiful circumstances? Why did she always feel uneasy in her heart?

Oh well, let things progress naturally.

She took out her phone, intending to browse casually before going to sleep, but then she saw Giorgio's name on the screen.

[If you can't come up with a solution within three days, we'll find you as a replacement.]

Three days! Even if she had three months, she wouldn't be able to come up with a solution!
Replace her with someone? Could it be that they're going to sell someone to him? No, that wouldn't make sense. If he wanted someone, she would be of no use to him. Most likely, he's just trying to scare her.

But how can she possibly give him what he wants?
This is giving me a headache.

Simon arrived as scheduled in the morning to take Penny to school.

Penny was a bit disappointed that Giorgio wasn't going to be her future father, but seeing how gentle and proactive Simon was, she quickly felt relieved.

A young girl deserves to be cherished. If her future father doesn't love her, she can always find a new one!

"Mummy, future father, I will study hard at school. Goodbye."

"Alright, goodbye."

Anna waved goodbye to her and watched as she entered the kindergarten with her teacher.
Then, sitting in the back seat of the car, she looked at Simon and smiled, saying, "Actually, you didn't have to come to send her off. She just said it casually."

Simon gently smiled and replied, "Children's thoughts are simple. Only by keeping your promises with them can you gain their approval. Moreover, going out in the morning and giving her a ride on the way won't take up too much time."

His voice was gentle, his demeanor tender, and he was especially friendly and easy to get along with.

The more Anna looked at him like this, the more she felt like she was dreaming. "Mr. Dalio, I feel like I don't deserve your kindness. I feel a bit overwhelmed, so how about we start as friends first?"

Simon glanced at her sideways, his gaze trailing slowly downward from her face, and elegantly said, "Beautiful, young, kind, brave, independent, you have countless good qualities that I should cherish and treat well."

Does she really have all these good qualities? Why doesn't she feel that way?
Simon continued, "Have confidence in yourself. Compared to me, who is older and a workaholic and has nothing but money, you are much better off. Finding a girl like you is my fortune."

Is he serious? Besides money, he has nothing? Just an average Joe Blow? How many people would be infuriated if they heard this!

Anna gazed into Simon's eyes, her heart filled with admiration and affection. "Simon," she whispered tenderly, "you are truly one of a kind. There's something about you that has always captivated me, from the first moment we met."

Simon blushed, feeling a mixture of vulnerability and curiosity. He couldn't help but be drawn in by Anna's gentle sincerity.

"Your kindness," Anna continued, her voice filled with admiration, "it knows no bounds. You have this remarkable ability to see the beauty in others, to make people feel cherished and valued. The way you genuinely care for those around you, it's inspiring."

Simon's eyes sparkled with emotion as he absorbed her heartfelt words. His self-doubt began to fade, replaced by a sense of wonder at how Anna saw him.

"And your intelligence," Anna continued, "it's nothing short of remarkable. Your mind is a treasure trove of knowledge and creativity. You have this unique way of solving problems and approaching life with wisdom and thoughtfulness."

Simon's cheeks flushed with a mixture of humility and pride. He had always been hard on himself, never truly recognizing the qualities that Anna was so generously pointing out.

"But above all," Anna said softly, her voice filled with tenderness, "what I like most about you is your resilience. Life has thrown its share of challenges your way, but you've always risen above them. You never give up, and that's something so admirable, Simon."

Tears almost welled up in Simon's eyes, touched by Anna's words of love and encouragement. Her presence was like a soothing balm to his insecurities.

"Promise me," Anna said, cupping his face in her hands, "never to put yourself down, never to doubt your worth. You are an incredible person, and I feel so blessed to have you in my life."

Simon's heart swelled with emotion, and he wrapped his arms around Anna, pulling her close. In that tender embrace, he felt a newfound sense of self-acceptance and love.

"Thank you, Anna," he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. "Thank you for seeing me, for reminding me of the good within myself. With you by my side, I promise to cherish every moment and to face life's challenges with newfound strength."

And there, under the moonlit sky, Simon and Anna shared a moment of profound intimacy, bound together by their love and appreciation for each other. From that day forward, Simon vowed never to forget his worth, knowing that he had someone as special as Anna to remind him of his true self whenever self-doubt threatened to creep in.

Anna had no idea where all these words of appreciation for Simon were coming from. But seeing him be so nice to Penny had welled up emotion in her. She truly did feel lucky for a man like Simon to be liking her.

The car arrived at the villa, and Anna was about to wave Simon off and let him go to work.
Unexpectedly, Katherine walked out and said, "Mr. Dalio, I heard that you and Anna are dating. Let's go inside and have breakfast together. Giorgio is here too, and we can all discuss it together."

Giorgio?

Guarding her?

Anna's heart inexplicably tightened.

Seeing Simon in the car, her heart rushed with feelings. She couldn't help but smile at him. But she was also nervous. Who knew what knew trick her sister had up her sleeve now?
