Chapter 360 Love, Being Loved
"Kindness.
"Back then, she saved us on the mountain without regard for her own safety. She didn't ask for any reward afterward, nor did she mention it. She is truly a kind girl. Over the years, no matter how cold you were to her, she remained steadfast and unwavering, proving her character even more. Although you grew up in wealth and privilege, you have never truly experienced sincere emotions. I hope someone can warm your heart, move you, and let you feel love and being loved. You must stay with Katherine until the end."
Viviana spoke earnestly.
Her words weighed heavily on Giorgio's mind. He had thought that Viviana imposed everything for the sake of the family, but unexpectedly...
Late at night, Giorgio walked out of Viviana's room, his aura cold and silent.
"Walk slower. Didn't you like today's movie genre?" a gentle voice called out.
Giorgio looked up and saw Giuseppe and Anna walking shoulder to shoulder.
Anna, holding a bouquet of exquisite flowers, smiled and said, "No, I quite liked it."
Giuseppe nodded, reassuringly. "That's good. Don't worry about the house. I sent a text to Giorgio. If he doesn't agree, I'll find another way to help you."
What? He texted Giorgio? He was terrifying to the extreme, wasn't he?
Anna instinctively wanted to speak, but a cold voice interrupted, "I indeed don't agree."
The voice was cold, straightforward, and decisive.
Anna turned her gaze and saw Giorgio standing under the streetlamp, looking even colder and more terrifying than the night itself.
She had known the answer all along and had no expectations of him.
"I'm not feeling well. I'll go back to my room first," she said, stepping away.
Her avoidance was quite obvious.
Had she done something wrong? How could she have shown such an attitude?
Giorgio's expression became even more unpleasant.
"Giorgio, can't I exchange a project or something else? You know, Anna isn't materialistic and doesn't want much. This is something I want to help her with," Giuseppe said calmly.
Giorgio sneered. He had underestimated Anna's ability to charm men, making Giuseppe willing to exchange a project.
He smirked and responded, "It's your business if you want to please her. It has nothing to do with me. Also, put some of that effort into Viviana."
Giuseppe was slightly stunned.
After Giorgio's tall and noble figure left, Giuseppe let out a mocking smile.
Grandmother? She had always favored Giorgio. Giorgio's efforts had been justified. What right had he had to demand anything from him?
If it weren't for those shares, he wouldn't have any feelings for her.
Back at Maple Valley Estates, Giuseppe walked to Anna's room and saw her tucking a girl into bed. He said softly, "Giorgio knows the house is for you and doesn't want to give it to you."
Anna's movements stiffened.
When Katherine called in the morning, Giorgio said he would reply in half a month. Later, when she went to see him, he directly refused and even insulted her.
Of course, she knew he didn't want to lend it to her.
Anna nodded and replied, "It's okay. I plan to find another house near the studio with Lucia, renovate it, and get more help. It won't take much time."
"All right, I'll help you," said Giuseppe.
"No need," Anna instinctively refused, walked to the door, and said rationally, "Lucia didn't use any man's connections for that studio. She even kept Enrico out. I don't want to go against her original intention. We plan to do it on our own."
Giuseppe's gentle expression turned gloomy. "If that's the case, why did you go to Giorgio?"
He knew? Anna was stunned.
Seeing his questioning and angry eyes, she awkwardly and nervously explained, "Lucia said it was business, so I contacted Katherine first. Katherine said it was okay, so I went. I also went to your office to ask you to go with me, but you weren't there. I didn't mean to hide it from you."
She explained in detail, each word revealing her deep-seated guilt over her relationship with Giorgio.
Giuseppe adjusted his glasses thoughtfully. "From now on, have less contact with Giorgio. If you need anything, come to me."
"Okay," Anna agreed, nodding as she watched Giuseppe's gentlemanly figure return to his room, frowning.
Strange, why did she feel so nervous and cautious explaining?
Taking a deep breath, she returned to her room and looked at the materials Lucia had organized earlier.
They couldn't aim for Giorgio's house anymore; they had to find an alternative.
"What you can't get from other men, you seek from me. What do you take me for?" Giorgio's words echoed in her mind, and Anna's expression darkened.
He was right. It was inappropriate to seek his help when others couldn't.
In that moment, it dawned on her; she hadn't truly let him go.
Her phone buzzed with a text. Anna picked it up. It was from Charlie: [Auntie, do you know what's wrong with my daddy? He's super cold tonight and hasn't said a word to me. I'm really scared.]
Super cold? Not saying a word? Was it because of the house?
Anna comforted him and replied: [Sweetie, don't overthink. Just sleep well and don't provoke him.]
Worried about involving Charlie, she sent a text to Giorgio: [Giorgio, I'm really sorry about today. It was my fault. I didn't mean to disturb you. It's just that Lucia said we had to have that house, so I had to try my best, hoping you would help with a business mindset. In my heart, I don't know why, but I thought you would consider it and agree. I overestimated our relationship. I didn't realize my status and position. To you, I'm nothing, not even a client worthy of discussing cooperation. I have no right to stand before you. You were right; seeking your help when others couldn't was despicable. I didn't see reality clearly and was presumptuous. It's all my fault. I'm sorry. I won't do such foolish things again. I hope you won't be angry and won't let your anger affect Charlie.]
After sending the message, Anna put down her phone and went to the bathroom to shower.
On the other end, Giorgio, also showering, saw his phone light up. Instinctively glancing at it, he saw the sender was Anna and paused.
Five seconds later, he turned off the shower. Casually wrapping a towel around his waist, he walked over to read the message.
Then, his eyes darkened with complex emotions.
She knew how to reflect?
He tossed the phone aside, ignoring it, and continued drying himself and blow-drying his hair. His movements were elegant yet wild, cold yet noble.
Anna came out of the shower half an hour later. Lying in bed, she picked up her phone. The screen was empty, with no reply.
Did he see the message? Or was he deliberately not replying?
She wasn't hoping for a reply, just worried his anger might scare Charlie.
After waiting for a while, she felt drowsy.
Just as she was about to fall asleep, her phone buzzed with a message.
Was it Giorgio's reply?
Anna woke up instantly. She opened her eyes and saw it was indeed a reply from Giorgio—
