Chapter 89 Jealousy Leads to Insults!
Warmly inviting him?
When was she ever warm?
Clearly, she was just asking casually!
Unfortunately, Anna couldn't say much at the moment and could only go to the small kitchen to prepare the food. Simon took off his tie, rolled up his sleeves, and walked in. "Let me help you," he said.
"No need, I can handle it myself," Anna pushed him away.
He stood there, his voice gentle: "Men don't need to cook? It's precisely because I'm a man that I should take care of the girl. You prepare the food, I'll wash the dishes, and stay away from cold water."
"Oh, Simon, you're so kind," Anna sincerely exclaimed.
It's rare to find a man these days who takes the initiative to help with cooking, especially someone as high-status as Simon.
Simon smiled. "You'll see, I have many more good traits."
"Haha, then I've found a treasure."
In the small kitchen, the couple happily laughed and chatted, showing their deep affection.
Through the transparent glass, their warm and sweet interaction was clearly visible.
Giorgio's face darkened.
Why did they look so dazzling together?
Even more importantly, despite what he had discovered, she could just act like nothing happened and continue to be affectionate with Simon?
It was ridiculous.
Since the hot pot only required washing and plating, within half an hour, a steaming hot pot and a table full of side dishes were ready.
Anna woke up Penny. "Look, Mommy prepared something for you."
"Wow, beef slices, lamb, fresh meatballs, and squid, all my favorites."
Penny couldn't contain her excitement. "Mommy, I love you."
Anna smiled. "Mr. Dalio helped with shopping and washing the vegetables."
"Really?" Penny looked at Simon and saw him wearing an apron. She gave him a thumbs up. "Love you, future daddy, you get 10 bonus points for cooking!"
"10 points? Didn't the little princess say the total score is only 10?"
Simon was curious because Penny had set up a scoring system, and he had only reached 4 points so far. But now, she suddenly added 10 points?
Penny explained, "A man who can cook is the warmest, so of course, there are extra points!"
"I see." Simon's eyes were full of tenderness. "So, have I completely gained the little princess's approval now?"
"Mhmm, congratulations, you've successfully become my daddy! You can marry my mommy anytime!"
What about the little cotton-padded jacket that was supposed to strictly watch over her? It was won over by a hot pot?
Giorgio didn't expect Penny to be won over by Simon so quickly, and even exceeded the maximum score. She was truly a fickle little one.
He felt a bit uneasy in his heart.
And just when he thought that, after burning a slice of fatty beef, Penny fed it to Simon's mouth.
"Future daddy, you've worked hard. Here's your reward."
Simon was surprised. Besides when he was a child, no one had ever fed him before.
He said, "You're so good," and opened his mouth to eat it.
"Future daddy, mommy has worked hard too. Why don't you feed her a piece?"
What? That would be so awkward!
Anna wanted to refuse, but Simon had already picked up a meatball from the pot, crushed it, and fed it to her lips.
She had never been fed by anyone before, especially not a man! And there was also Giorgio sitting beside her! Somehow, she felt a bit embarrassed and inexplicably guilty under his gaze.
"Mama, why aren't you eating? In movies, the male lead always feeds the female lead! Don't be shy~~" Her daughter's sweet and innocent urging voice sounded.
Anna snapped back to reality. Why should she care about Giorgio's gaze and feelings!
Opening her mouth, she took a bite of a meatball, praising, "It's delicious."
"Then I'll keep feeding you," Simon said, not modest at all, while serving the hot dishes.
As a family of three, they fed each other, creating a warm and happy atmosphere around the steaming hotpot.
In the midst of the pain and uncertainty, Anna clung to these small moments of joy. She knew that with love and hope, they could face whatever lay ahead. And as she watched her daughter drift off to sleep, she felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the moments they had shared that day, and the ray of hope that had blossomed in the midst of adversity.
Anna and Penny shared sweet moments, laughing and reminiscing about their happy times together. They talked about the future, about the dreams they both held dear, and about the beautiful world that awaited Penny beyond her illness.
Despite the challenging circumstances, Anna felt a ray of hope in that hospital room. The connection she shared with Penny, the love that enveloped them both, it was a beacon of strength in their darkest hour.
Giorgio felt more and more depressed.
"Uncle Giorgio, why aren't you eating? The hotpot is so delicious, you should try it too," Penny finally remembered him and handed him a meatball.
At least she had some conscience.
Giorgio pursed his lips.
But the little one dipped the food in front of him and fed herself instead!
She never intended to feed him!
The moment of softness that had just arisen suddenly disappeared, leaving behind a cold and icy atmosphere.
Seeing his reaction, Penny innocently explained, "Uncle Giorgio, I... I just wanted to dip the sauce."
Embarrassment was even worse than disappointment!
Penny felt sorry for Giorgio and compassionately picked up a slice of meat, saying, "Giorgio, let me feed you?"
Who needed sympathy?
"No need, I don't like eating food with someone else's saliva," Giorgio coldly put down his chopsticks, no longer willing to stay, and stood up.
"You guys eat, I'll go back to the ward to take care of Grandma."
Then, he strode away, his tall and cold figure exuding a resolute determination.
Strange, did anyone beg him to eat? He decided to stay, only to be disgusted again.
"Never mind him, let's continue eating," Anna said.
"Yeah, sure," Penny lowered her head and ate her food. A sly glint flashed through her pitch-black eyes.
Giorgio had no idea about his own feelings, hoping that this would make him see his own heart clearly!
After dinner, Simon answered a call from Richard Dalio, and Anna cleaned up the table, unexpectedly finding a beautifully wrapped gift!
Uh-oh! She forgot to give it to Giorgio!
"Mama, please take it over quickly. Giorgio is in room 66."
Anna thought to herself, since they had met today, she might as well give it to him, or she would have to meet him again next time.
With a light "mmhmm," she quickly ran out.
Room 66.
Viviana Vittorio had gone for a check-up, leaving an empty room with only Little Tony inside.
He was organizing documents and when he saw Giorgio return, he immediately said, "Mr. Vittorio, the collaboration papers with the Bruno Group need your personal attention. It's a bit urgent..."
"Urgent my ass, get out of here!" Giorgio snapped in annoyance, tearing off his tie and sitting on the small sofa.
That chilling aura, intimidating even without anger, becomes even more terrifying when enraged.
Little Tony looked at the scene.Mr. Vittorio swore? Is he angry?
Gunpowder isn't even that scary! He downplays his presence, preparing to leave.
"Who gave you permission to leave?"
A cold snort startled Little Tony, causing him to immediately lower his head, anxious. "Mr. Vittorio, do you have any instructions?"
"No instructions mean you can't stand here? No instructions mean you can leave early?" The man questioned relentlessly, cold and cruel.
Simply… unreasonable, picking on nothing.
Little Tony felt bitter, but there was no point in talking back.
He silently stood in place, suddenly spotting a figure appearing at the door, feeling saved:
"Mr. Vittorio, Miss Stefanelli is here!"
"Tell her to leave."
Just as Anna arrived at the door…
Luckily, she wanted to leave as well, quickly placing her things on the chair by the door and preparing to go.
Who would've thought that the man's cold command would resound again:
"Stop!"
