Chapter 331 Living Together

Anna instinctively turned her head and saw Giuseppe rushing toward her, surprising her.

Why did he come?

Katherine also did not expect that Giuseppe would know the news. She stood in front of Anna and asked, "What are you here for?"

Giuseppe glanced at Anna and the child in her arms with a conflicted expression. His gaze landed on Katherine's face and he whispered, "Katherine, you don't have the right to decide whether she stays or leaves. She is my girlfriend now."

The man who once loved her openly declared that Anna was now his girlfriend, intensifying Katherine's jealousy as she stared at him. "I am her older sister, so I have that right. Besides, ask her whether I made her leave or if she wanted to leave on her own."

Giuseppe shifted his gaze and looked at Anna.

Anna awkwardly lowered her head, cradling the child, as she made her way to a secluded corner, seeking solace in the quietness it offered. She looked seriously at Giuseppe and said, "Giuseppe, I appreciate you saving me, truly grateful. I'm committed to honoring my promise and clearing any debts to you. But the situation is complicated, and I am not as simple as you think.

"You can rest assured that if there is a chance in the future, I will definitely repay your kindness."

Anna's words were serious and sincere.

Giuseppe's eyes dimmed a little and said, "I have always been a man of my word, and I don't like promises for the future."

He directly pulled Anna over and said to Katherine, "You should focus on your life with Giorgio in the future and not interfere in our affairs."

Katherine's face turned pale with anger.

When had the previous Giuseppe ever spoken to her in this tone? And asking her to live well with Giorgio?

She gritted her teeth and asked, "Why? Why are you suddenly treating me like this?"

"Katherine, explanations aren't necessary. It's simply time for us to bring closure to our relationship." Giuseppe delivered the words with a veneer of gentlemanly charm and friendliness, but beneath the surface, his demeanor was anything but warm—it concealed a heartless and cold truth.

He was like the wind, leaving no trace behind. He then took Anna and left.

Katherine stood in place, gripping her hands tightly, her breathing rapid. She was furious, and her body trembled.

Ah! It was all because of Anna. Damn it, Anna.

Throughout the entire process, Anna didn't even have a chance to speak. She was taken away by Giuseppe without a word, and it was only when the car began to drive that she regained her voice. "Giuseppe, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to break my promise. It's just that I really don't fit in CrownHaven. Will you and Katherine be too opposed to each other?"

Giuseppe said lightly, "It's fine, she and I were supposed to end things anyway. Do you really want me to have any connection with her?"

Anna replied, "No, of course not!"

Giuseppe smiled and then said seriously, "Regardless of whether or not you are suitable to stay in CrownHaven, honor our agreement for these six months. I don't want my days and nights of devotion to be wasted on an ungrateful person. Also, Viviana's test results came out today. The doctor said she could only live for another six months at most. Therefore, I really need you."

Anna widened her eyes in surprise. Viviana could only live for half a year? Was it really that serious?

Although she disliked her, the matter of life and death still made her feel emotional. She pursed her lips and said, "Alright, I will abide by the six-month agreement."

Even though there was Giorgio, she won't have any contact with him anymore. This time, she would make Katherine see her actual actions.

The atmosphere became quiet.

After driving for a while, Giuseppe finally realized that Anna was holding a little girl in her arms.
He stared at the girl's face and furrowed his brows. "Whose child is this? She looks a lot like you."

With this sentence, Anna's thoughts instantly tensed up. She forgot that Penny was still in her arms. It wouldn't be good if Giuseppe found out Penny's identity. She lowered her gaze and explained, "She is my brother and sister-in-law's child. After they passed away, I have been taking care of her as if she were my own daughter."

Giuseppe understood and said, "You are quite kind."

A young woman raising her brother's child, most people wouldn't willingly do it. Perhaps, this was also one of the reasons why Giorgio liked her?

After about half an hour, the car stopped at Beiyuan. The atmosphere exuded peace, with its pavilions and towers crafting a distinctive ambiance reminiscent of Giorgio's private estate.

Anna curiously asked, "Giuseppe, where is this?"

Giuseppe stepped out of the car and circled around to the passenger side, acting with gentlemanly grace as he opened the door. "Welcome to my part of Vittorio Mansion," he explained. "Each member of the Vittorio family has their own separate section, managed independently. No one outside the family has access. Given Viviana's limited time, we'll stay here for easy access to visit her."

In other words, she had to live with him! Anna's face turned pale in shock. "Giuseppe, I meant cooperate, I didn't agree to live together."

She reacted strongly, like an inexperienced young girl.

Giuseppe lightly smiled and said, "Don't worry, there are plenty of rooms inside, I won't force you into anything.

"Did you still want to go back to the Stefanelli family? As far as I know, they didn't treat you well and they always wanted you to leave. They didn't keep you by their side, and I'm worried you will run away."

"I didn't want to run away," Anna replied.

"If I had been a step behind before, wouldn't you have left?"

Giuseppe's rhetorical question left Anna speechless. Moving in and pretending to live with him was also the best explanation to Katherine.

In the end, she weakly agreed and asked, "Can I let my best friend move in too?"

Giuseppe was easygoing and replied, "Sure."

"Thank you." Anna expressed her gratitude and followed him inside, placing Penny on the bed.

Just as she put Penny down, Giuseppe's secretary rushed in. "Giuseppe, it's not good. Viviana's condition has worsened. Colombo wants everyone to come over."

"Alright, right away." Giuseppe looked at Anna. "Do you mind coming with me?"

In this situation, Anna couldn't possibly mind. She nodded. "Okay. Can you ask your secretary to help take care of Penny?"

"Of course, Miss." The secretary politely stood by the bed.

Anna followed Giuseppe quickly to the front yard.

The luxurious and antique room overflowed with an array of precious treasures, its walls adorned with exquisite calligraphy and paintings.

The environment, which should have been serene and comfortable, was now tense. Viviana on the bed struggled to breathe, her chest rising and falling, her face pale.

Two doctors were busy trying to administer oxygen, but Viviana showed no signs of improvement.

The Vittorio family members were all gathered by the bed, their faces serious and worried.

"How is Viviana?" Giuseppe entered the room and asked anxiously.

For a moment, everyone's gaze fell on him, noticing Anna following behind.

Colombo's face immediately turned ugly. "I told you to stay home quietly these past few days. Why were you wandering around? This is not the time for romance."

Henna didn't want her son to be blamed by others and quickly consoled, "Alright, he's here now. Just be quiet and don't disturb your grandma."

Colombo suppressed his anger and didn't say anything further.

Giuseppe gently patted Anna's arm to signal that he was okay and led her to stand by the bed.

Anna tried to minimize her presence.

In the tense atmosphere, a figure standing at the very back exhibited a cold and noble expression, his sharp gaze fixed on Anna.
