Chapter 426 His Humiliation
Katherine walked over, plopped down next to Giorgio, and kissed him on the cheek.
She was sharp and knew Giorgio was targeting Anna tonight, so he wouldn't push her away.
Sure enough, Giorgio stayed put and said, "Seeing the essence is just basic."
They looked like a loving couple.
Mr. Johnson was curious.
"No, Mr. Vittorio, they look exactly the same. How did you tell them apart? Spill."
Giorgio's eyes were intense.
Recognizing Katherine might be tough, but Anna? Easy.
Her eyes were always lively and anxious, clean and bright, with a unique resilience.
But he said the opposite.
"Katherine's eyes are straightforward; I can read her thoughts. Some people are hard to figure out."
Another compliment for Katherine, a jab at Anna!
Anna's fists clenched, anger rising.
Mr. Johnson had an epiphany.
"I get it! It's that saying you Crownhaven folks have: communicating with the eyes. No, this game is unfair to me. Let's play another round. This time, both of them will be blindfolded, with their hands behind their backs to prevent cheating."
Anna wanted to refuse and leave.
But she had no say here. If not for Lucia, she wouldn't even be here.
She numbly followed the makeup artist, letting them dress her up and change her clothes.
Then, blindfolded, she walked out.
The world was pitch black; she couldn't see a thing.
She only heard Mr. Johnson exclaim, "This is too scary. Mr. Vittorio, if you can still recognize them, I admit defeat."
Under the lights, the two looked identical.
The men's suits on their small bodies hid any figure or outline.
Only their small faces, covered with black gauze, looked even scarier than reflections in a mirror.
"Mr. Vittorio? What do you think? Still want to play? Or admit defeat?"
Giorgio looked at Mr. Johnson and said, "In my world, there's no such thing as defeat."
Then he stood up, looked at the two puppet-like figures, and walked over.
"Mr. Vittorio, you can't get close. You can't smell them. This game is only about looking, not smelling or hugging," Mr. Johnson stopped him.
Giorgio's gaze didn't change. The next second, he said calmly, "I'm just going to pull my wife."
With that, he reached out and pulled the woman on the right, bringing her into his arms.
The sudden male scent made Anna tense up, extremely flustered and nervous!
Giorgio got the wrong person!
Mr. Johnson was surprised.
"Mr. Vittorio, are you sure?"
Giorgio's face was cold and indifferent, and he ambiguously said, "Yes."
Then he lifted the gauze from her eyes, staring into her chaotic eyes, and asked, "Tell Mr. Johnson, did I get it wrong?"
Her heart pounded with tension. Where did his confidence come from?
The key was, he was holding her so intimately. If she said he got it wrong, it would be so awkward!
She was extremely nervous, anxious, and flustered.
At this moment, Giorgio suddenly let go of her.
"Sorry, I did get it wrong. It seems that although some people look the same, they feel completely different."
He said that in such a calm demeanor, with such elegant words!
After speaking, he even took a wet wipe from the table to clean the hand that had touched her.
He displayed extreme disdain, blatantly and openly humiliating.
Anna stood there, stunned, finally understanding.
Giorgio didn't get it wrong; he did it on purpose.
He deliberately humiliated her, crushed her self-esteem, and got back at her for testing and deceiving him.
And she had been worried about him being embarrassed and losing the bet.
Her heart ached.
"Mr. Vittorio is right. People are different. Even in the same world, there are borders and races. Mr. Vittorio, you see through the essence, and I admire that. Enjoy your time. I have to go."
With that, Anna turned and left.
"Anna."
Lucia quickly said goodbye to Mr. Johnson and chased after her.
She caught up with Anna by the roadside, seeing her red eyes and tear-streaked face.
"Anna, what's wrong? Mr. Vittorio is probably just targeting you on purpose. Don't take it to heart."
Of course, she took it to heart.
The man who once spoke so gently now had words that cut like knives; anyone would find it unbearable.
The worst part was, she never expected him to use Katherine to humiliate her, whose heart tightened painfully.
"Lucia, let's go back, back to Crownhaven."
She didn't want to stay here another minute. Not even a second.
Lucia, who had experienced hurt before, although not knowing the misunderstanding between Anna and Giorgio, felt that Giorgio's actions were too much.
She hugged her, feeling heartbroken.
"Okay, don't cry. I'll book the tickets right away, and we'll go back."
Upstairs, Mr. Johnson, having won the bet, was very pleased.
"This is the most interesting party I've ever attended. Mr. Vittorio, let's forget about the contract concessions. Let's go somewhere else."
Giorgio's face was gloomy, his demeanor noble.
"It's too late tonight. Raincheck. As for the contract, a bet is a bet."
With that, he elegantly strode out of the private room.
Katherine quickly caught up.
"Giorgio, you must be tired. Let me give you a massage. Or I'll call a masseuse for you."
She was gentle and considerate.
She didn't mention what had happened before, nor did she ask for anything, playing the perfect wife to the fullest.
Giorgio's cold attitude didn't change at all, even heartlessly.
"You go back first. I have something to handle alone."
'Alone? He must be going to find Anna,' Katherine thought.
Katherine wanted to say something, but Giorgio had already left.
She stomped her foot and took out her phone to call Anna.
"Where are you? We need to meet now."
It was a command.
She absolutely couldn't allow Anna to meet Giorgio.
Anna knew Katherine was angry, but she had been humiliated by Giorgio all night. Katherine didn't need to be angry or jealous. Or perhaps, Katherine wanted to show off.
Whatever the reason, she had no energy to deal with it now.
"Let's meet another time. Lucia and I have booked tickets to Crownhaven in two hours. I need to pack."
Then she hung up the phone.
Katherine was so angry she wanted to smash her phone.
Although Giorgio's attitude towards Anna was bad now, she knew Giorgio too well.
If there were no feelings, he wouldn't care at all.
And Anna, that scumbag, came and went. How could she be so innocent!
No, she had to make Giorgio continue to hate her.
Katherine thought and sent a text to Giuseppe, who was far away in Crownhaven.
In less than twenty minutes, a hot piece of news exploded online.
"Anna, you're trending."
Lucia rushed into the room.
Anna, who was packing her suitcase, turned around and asked in surprise, "What? What trending?"
"You and Giuseppe. See for yourself."
Anna nodded, took the phone, and looked down.
Then her pupils suddenly widened.
