Chapter 82 She Is So Pure
The embrace came too suddenly. The question asked was too shocking!
Feeling his broad body and the continuous fragrance rushing into her nose, Anna's heart felt a bit uneasy. She shook her head, "No, no, absolutely not! I just said it earlier, treat it as if it didn't happen. It's not a game, I swear it's true!"
Afraid that he wouldn't believe her, she even raised her hand and made a swearing gesture.
How could Giorgio not know that she was telling the truth? But looking at her so resolute and determined while swearing, he couldn't help but feel a touch of annoyance.
His usual nobility and arrogance caused him to release his grip on her with a cold tone, "That's good, remember to take contraceptives."
He mentioned that while hugging her?
She pushed him away in anger, "Rest assured, I bought and took them before leaving in the morning. I won't make the same low-level mistake again!" She didn't take the pill last time due to nervousness, which resulted in giving birth to Penny and Charlie. She wouldn't make the same mistake again this time.
Giorgio caught on to something and furrowed his brows, "Second time? Did you have a first time with someone else?"
Of course! The first time was with him…
OMG! She let it slip!
Anna's face turned pale, "It's nothing, it's none of your business. I'm going back now. Goodbye, never see you again."
After speaking, she quickly ran away.
She didn't realize that running away was the most obvious sign of guilt!
With a gloomy face, Giorgio didn't believe that things would be so simple. He immediately called Little Tony using the landline:
"Reinvestigate Anna's background immediately! Especially her romantic history with men." He wanted to know who her first mistake was!
Half an hour later.
Giorgio found himself alone in his lavish study, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of Anna. He had always assumed her life was eventful, filled with many men and a whirlwind of excitement. But after his conversation with Little Tony, he couldn't help but feel confounded by the revelation of the opposite.
"Anna," he mused to himself, trying to reconcile the new information with his existing perceptions. "She leads a simple life."
Little Tony's words echoed in his mind. He had described Anna's life as quiet and unassuming, far removed from the extravagant and turbulent world that Giorgio was accustomed to. It was as if Tony was talking about an entirely different person.
Anna, female, 25 years old, excellent grades, ranked first in the class every year, an outstanding student in the school.
At the same time, she paid for her tuition through part-time work. Since the age of 10, she helped with farm work, worked summer jobs, and started working at 19 to support her family's expenses and raise Penny.
Her romantic history was clean - she had never been in love or stayed out late with boys. The only person she had liked was Alessandro Conti. However, their relationship was only as friends and they hadn't seen each other again after Alessandro went abroad to study. Currently, Anna was in a relationship with Simon.
"This information... is completely opposite to what we previously investigated!"
Little Tony exploded, "Mr. Vittorio, how could this be? The previous investigation clearly showed... so many scandals..."
Giorgio's dark eyes stared at the information, emotions surging within him. He hadn't expected Anna's background to be so clean, and that she would be such a well-behaved and independent girl. It was completely different from the information they had before.
Giorgio wondered if he had misunderstood Anna all along. He had known her for years, but it seemed like he had only scratched the surface of who she truly was. The realization left him feeling both intrigued and perplexed.
Memories of Anna flooded his thoughts – her warm smiles, her genuine laughter, and the way she always seemed to be present in the moment. Yet, he had painted her life as something entirely different in his mind.
He recalled the rumors that had circled around her, painting her as a woman with a long list of romantic affairs. But now, he couldn't help but wonder if those were mere fabrications. Perhaps, there was more to her life than the rumors suggested.
Giorgio sighed, feeling a mix of admiration and relief. He had been envious of the excitement he believed filled her life, but the truth painted a different picture. Her simplicity was something he craved amidst the complexities of his world.
As the fire crackled in the hearth, Giorgio found himself yearning to understand the woman he thought he knew so well. The discrepancy between reality and perception left him feeling vulnerable, like he had been blind to the truth all this time.
A new document appeared on the desk.
AlessandroAlessandro
"Someone tampered with the information, waiting for us to see it."
"What? Who would be so malicious? What do they gain from this?" Little Tony was puzzled.
Giorgio glanced at him coldly, "You ask me, who should I ask?" He couldn't help but feel a bitter taste in his heart, remembering his misunderstanding of Anna in the past.
"After we receive any updates, report to me immediately."
"Yes, Mr. Vittorio." Little Tony acknowledged and was about to leave.
"Wait." Giorgio stopped him, staring at the three words 'Alessandro' on the document, and asked with a raised eyebrow, "Is there any other information about her and Alessandro?"
Little Tony hesitated upon hearing this, "Um..."
"Speak," Giorgio commanded, his voice cold and firm.
"Yes, yes." Little Tony immediately took out his tablet and explained truthfully, "Alessandro was Miss Stefanelli's neighbor when she used to live in the countryside. They had been childhood friends and Alessandro took good care of Miss Stefanelli. She also liked him very much and relied on him for anything. Their relationship was excellent in other people's eyes, like a perfect couple. These are the pictures I found on Miss Stefanelli's Facebook."
In the photos, they looked young and inexperienced. Anna made the 'OK' gesture while Alessandro gazed at her indulgently, clearly a typical young couple.
Giorgio stared at the photos, his dangerous gaze narrowing.
At such a young age, instead of focusing on studying, all they knew was to be in love?
