The base where Charlie was going was indeed quite far.
On the way, Penny was chatting with Giorgio all the time.
Anna was very nervous.
She hadn't expected her daughter to be so close to Giorgio. If her true identity was accidentally revealed, she couldn't imagine the consequences.

At that moment, Tom suddenly said, "Whose little girl is this? She bears some resemblance to Charlie. They look like twins standing together."

Anna's heart raced, and she completely ignored the children's appearance.

Her voice was nervous and awkward as she quickly replied, "No, that's not possible. Penny is only 5 years old, clearly much younger than Charlie. They don't look at all alike."
Tom furrowed his brows, "Five years old? She looks small, but she doesn't seem like a five-year-old. It's more like being short due to illness."
"Not enough," Anna said, perplexed.
Is this Tom a miracle doctor? Penny almost died from lack of oxygen during childbirth and has been weak and sickly ever since. Anna has taken great care to nurture her back to health, but Tom was able to discern it all in a single glance!
Unable to stay any longer, Anna said, "It's getting late, and Penny is a little injured. We should go home."
Hearing this, Giorgio remembered Penny's injury and said to Tom, "The child was pricked by a needle, get some medicine for her."
"Oh, alright. I'll prepare it when we get back," Tom replied.
Giorgio didn't linger any longer and left with Charlie, Anna, and Penny, directly getting into the car and driving away.
Tom watched their figures and couldn't help but feel like they were a family.
Damn, is he going insane, mistaking them for twins or a family of four?
On the way home, Anna was restless and absent-minded.
She said, "When we get to the city, you can drop me and Penny off by the road. I will take her for a walk and then return home myself."
Charlie became unhappy upon hearing this, "Anna, I want to go too."
Anna really didn't like the two children being together. She said softly, "Charlie, Penny hasn't been feeling well for a few days. I'll take her home to rest early and come accompany you tomorrow."
"Mummy, I feel fine. I want to be with my future daddy and Charlie," Penny said.
Anna was at a loss for words.
Oh God, just kill her already!
In the front seat, Giorgio glanced at Anna through the rearview mirror and noticed her anxious and frantic expression. There was also an indescribable emotion in her eyes. Was it because of Simon?
He tightened his grip on the steering wheel, his knuckles gradually turning white.
When they got out of the car, both children were already asleep.
Giorgio unfastened his seat belt and said, "I'll carry them for you."
"No need, I can do it myself," Anna quickly got out of the car and went to pick up Penny.
However, Giorgio elegantly got out of the front seat, standing tall and imposing in front of the car, exuding a cold and condensed aura.
He stared at her and asked, "So anxious, are you planning to meet up with Simon?"
Suddenly, the sentence filled with an invisible weight.
Anna was utterly bewildered and instinctively replied, "No, you're overthinking!"
Righteously and without any guilt. Giorgio smiled and said, "That's good, then. I'll carry Penny."
Without waiting for her consent, he opened the car door, took off his suit jacket, and carefully covered Penny with it. Then, he carried her out and walked towards the apartment.
When did she agree to him carrying Penny? And what does he mean by saying, "That's good"? Does it have anything to do with whether she meets up with Simon or not?
Even though she didn't dare to leave Charlie alone in the car, Anna carried him out and caught up to Giorgio.
Seeing this, Giorgio asked with confusion, "Why did you bring him out?"
Anna explained, "There have been several cases in the news where children were trapped in cars and died from suffocation. I wanted to make sure Charlie..."
She swallowed, "A person left behind like this? I've never seen such a careless father like you."
His car was good in terms of performance and safety features, so such a situation would not happen. Besides, Charlie knew a lot of things, so he never considered it. But he could appreciate the convenience, thoughtfulness, and her responsibility towards Penny.
He said, "You are quite responsible. At only 25 years old, your motherly instincts overflow."
Anna was speechless.
The blood and flesh she lost on her body, of course, her motherly love would be strong! Even though she couldn't say, "I always liked children since I was young, dreaming of becoming a preschool teacher. Um, you should bring Penny inside the room."
Giorgio didn't think much about it, carrying the little bun to the room, gently placing her on the bed and pulling the covers over her.
That gentle action and strength, it was more caring, more affectionate than with Charlie.
