Chapter 74 He is Getting Married

As the dinner progressed, Giorgio watched Anna's eyes light up as she interacted with the children, her nurturing nature evident in every gesture. It reminded him of the void in his own life, a void that couldn't be filled by money, power, or success.

He glanced around the table, seeing the genuine love and affection exchanged between Anna, Simon, and the children. They were like a family, almost, and he couldn't help but envy the happiness they shared.

As dessert arrived, Giorgio excused himself from the table, needing a moment to collect his thoughts.

The atmosphere became oppressively heavy, and Giorgio stood up. "You guys talk, I need to make a phone call."

Everyone frowned, wondering why he suddenly turned so cold. Was it work-related?

He stood alone by the window, gazing at the city lights outside, feeling the weight of his loneliness.

In that moment of solitude, Giorgio realized that all his power and influence couldn't buy the true happiness that came from family and friendship. He yearned for a connection that went beyond fear and respect, something that would fill the void in his heart.

With a heavy sigh, Giorgio returned to the table, determined to find a way to bridge the gap between his life as a powerful man and his longing for genuine love and companionship. He knew it wouldn't be easy, but he was willing to take the first steps toward building the family and friendships he had always craved, but never known he wanted so bad.

But since Anna had come into his life..

Penny pursed her lips and slipped out of Simon's arms. "Future daddy, mommy, I just remembered that something was left with Giorgio last time. I'll go find him. You guys stay with little brother, okay?"

With that, she quickly ran out and chased after Giorgio for quite a while before catching up to him.

"Giorgio, wait up."

Her petite figure was determined and clear.

Giorgio lowered his gaze and saw Penny, who only reached his knees. His eyes darkened.

"What are you holding onto me for? Let go."

His mood was not good tonight, so his tone was a little heavier.

Startled, Penny quickly let go, her eyes pitifully searching around. Finally, she didn't say anything and turned away, tears in her eyes.

Giorgio felt a twinge in his heart and asked her, "Stop, what did you want to tell me just now?"

"It's nothing. Sorry for bothering you, Giorgio." Penny didn't look back, continuing to walk with small steps and a lowered head.

Giorgio sighed internally.

Feeling irritated, he loosened his tie, walked over, and lifted Penny up into his arms. It was then that he noticed her tear-stained face, and he quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, I was too harsh earlier. Don't cry."

Upon hearing his apology, Penny felt even more wronged. Her nose tingled, and she burst into tears.

Her voice was loud and clear.

The people around them all looked at Giorgio with strange expressions.

Giorgio had a headache. He carried her to a quiet balcony and said, "I'm not good at comforting children. You can tell me directly, what do I need to do for you to stop crying?"

Sniffing, Penny looked at him with teary eyes and asked, "Then you tell me, why don't you like my mommy? Why won't you be my future daddy?"

Giorgio's eyebrow twitched. "Your mommy pursued me?"

"Mhm, mhm! Mommy likes you, that's why she went to your house to take care of your child, to be a nanny. If you didn't like her, she wouldn't be with Mr. Dalio. Mr. Dalio said that you like another woman and are about to get married. Is it true that you can never marry my mom?" The little girl asked a series of questions.

After listening, Giorgio easily deduced that Penny had misunderstood everything since Anna had insulted him and it was impossible for her to like him.

"Penny, do you like me? Do you want me to be your father in the future?" Giorgio inquired.

Penny shook her head, "I'm quite stubborn. Although I like you a bit more than Mr. Dalio, I won't tell you if you don't like my mommy."

Giorgio chuckled at her response, "Didn't you just tell me?"

Penny grumbled, "...hmph, you still haven't answered my question. I will be angry, and the consequences of my anger are severe!"

Giorgio laughed, his laughter full of indulgence and tenderness. He thought with Penny's stubborn personality and attitude, she was intentionally telling him. His mood instantly improved a lot.

"Mr. Dalio was right. I will leave Vista Heights at the end of this month and go back to Crownhaven to get married. It is impossible for me to be with your mom. Your mom also likes Mr. Dalio a lot. Mr. Dalio is a good person. Just like today, you should get along well with him. If you have any difficulties, you can call me, alright?"

These words were Giorgio's rational and calm response. Since he had decided to marry Katherine and Anna also liked Simon, he would suppress his restless emotions towards Anna. Once he returned to Crownhaven, those emotions would gradually disappear.

Penny understood. Although she wanted to cry, she knew that crying wouldn't change Giorgio's mind. She sniffed and managed to squeeze out a small voice, "I understand, Giorgio. I hope you'll be happy."

"You too. You should go back first; I'll smoke a cigarette before returning."

"Mhm." Penny turned and left.

While turning a corner in the corridor, she saw 'Anna' and quickly ran over, "Mommy, why did you come out to find me? But you weren't wearing this outfit just now, did you change?"

Katherine looked at the girl in front of her and was shocked. The delicate, big-eyed appearance was exactly the same as when they were children! She had only heard before that Anna was taking care of a child, the deceased foster brother's child, but she hadn't paid much attention and even made fun of her for being foolish. But now, she realized it was she who had been foolish!

This child, even without guessing, was undoubtedly Anna's biological daughter!

"I'm not your mommy, I'm your mommy's sister, your aunt."
