Chapter 126 The Deadline for Remarriage

If such a person were indeed around Lauren, No matter what, Quentin needed to get rid of this time bomb. But the most important thing now was to calm Lauren down. His feelings for Lauren were not that complicated, wanting to hold her hand and walk into the future together.
"Lauren, I never intended to use you. Whether you believe me or not, I chose you as the spokesperson to announce your identity. Honestly, how much value do you think you have as an endorsement? Instead of using you, I could spend money to hire a famous star. Please don’t doubt my sincerity," Quentin said.
Quentin was sincere, having realized his strong possessiveness towards Lauren. That feeling was not just about wanting to keep her by his side but also about wanting to spend the rest of his life with her.
The domineering Quentin did not say these words out loud, believing that Lauren understood.
Hearing Quentin's words, Lauren began to think seriously.
Wendy would stop at nothing to get what she wanted. Compared to Wendy, Lauren felt she trusted Quentin more.
Some words had to come from Quentin himself for her to believe them.
Lauren was very glad she asked this time.
"Then tell me, is the situation at Robinson Conglomerate really as bad as Mr. Martin said? Did my running away last time cause a significant impact on the company?" Lauren asked her concern.
Quentin held Lauren's shoulders, letting her sit on the hospital bed, and said earnestly, "No matter the company's situation, I will support you in whatever choice you make."
Quentin's attitude was so gentle that Lauren felt a bit overwhelmed. She needed to hear the most truthful answer to make an accurate judgment.
"Quentin, tell me the truth, what is the situation really like?" Lauren asked.
Seeing Lauren so serious, Quentin did not hide anything. "I've been in the hospital all this time. Noah has been handling the company's affairs. Although I'm not clear on the specifics, I believe there's nothing that could significantly harm Robinson Conglomerate."
Lauren felt much more at ease. Only Quentin could say such domineering words.
"So, you don't need to have any concerns. I believe Noah did this for us to reconcile, so don't be mad at him," Quentin continued.
Lauren nodded. "I won't. Mr. Martin is very kind-hearted. I once spent time with him and found him to be a good person."
After saying this, Lauren seemed to muster a lot of courage and said, "Quentin, I agree with Mr. Martin's proposal. I'm willing to stand by you and face everything together at this time."
Quentin was surprised. He thought Lauren would not agree after learning the real situation, especially since she had already divorced him and had no need to get involved.
"Why?" Quentin asked.
"Does it need a reason?" Lauren smiled.
"Of course. You should know that appearing as Mrs. Robinson in public now means something. Reporters will focus on you, and you won't be able to live a peaceful life anymore," Quentin said seriously that he had to tell Lauren the downsides and not let her make an impulsive and irrational decision.
"I know. But I believe that if I ever want to escape the public eye, you'll help me, right?" Lauren smiled charmingly.
Seeing Lauren's relaxed expression, Quentin finally smiled as well. Since Lauren trusted him so much, he had no reason to hesitate.
"Lauren, promise me. Let's remarry?" Quentin clasped Lauren's small hands tightly, his large hands generously warming Lauren's heart. His face slowly moved closer to Lauren's, leaving her no room to escape.
Lauren blushed, deeply moved. It seemed she had been waiting for Quentin to say these words. After he had, she felt at ease.
"Quentin, let's discuss remarriage after this matter is resolved, okay?" Lauren looked at his handsome face. His eyelashes were so long, their distance so close, she could even feel his breath.
"Alright, it's settled then. Once this matter is over, we'll remarry!" Quentin said happily.
"It isn't to remarry. I'll consider it and give you an answer," Lauren corrected Quentin.
"It's the same thing." Quentin left Lauren's side with a cheerful smile, which made Lauren a bit exasperated. Although Quentin was indeed overbearing, arrogant, and self-righteous, it was precisely these traits that made her heart flutter.
Lauren put on a stern face and said, "If you think that way, I won't even consider remarriage."
This tactic worked. Quentin put away his playful smile and changed his tone. "I take back what I said. Taking your time to consider, I hope your answer won't disappoint me."
Seeing Quentin admit defeat, Lauren suppressed her laughter and lifted her chin. It was the first time she had been so assertive in front of Quentin, and she suddenly felt a sense of triumph.
A week later, Lauren met Ethan again.
Lauren was shopping at the supermarket and ran into Ethan at the checkout line.
"Ethan." Lauren was pleasantly surprised. She hadn't seen him for almost a month, specifically since Quentin had been hospitalized.
Ethan heard the familiar voice, turned around, and indeed saw Lauren, the person he had been thinking about day and night but couldn't see.
"Lauren, are you shopping too?" Ethan's smile was as bright as the winter sun.
"Yes, Ethan, we haven't seen each other for a long time. Do you have some time to chat after this?" Lauren noticed that Ethan's shopping cart had only a few items and asked with a smile.
Ethan could never refuse Lauren.
"Sure," Ethan replied.
After they finished checking out, they left the supermarket together and went to a restaurant. After ordering, Ethan specifically instructed the waiter, "Please use fewer seasonings in all the dishes. Keep them as light as possible."
Lauren knew Ethan was being considerate of her as a pregnant woman. He was still as thoughtful and warm as ever.
"Ethan, you don't have to eat bland food just for me. It's okay for me to eat normally once in a while," Lauren said.
"It's alright. It's rare for us to have a meal together. I want you to be comfortable. By the way, how is Quentin's recovery?" Ethan asked.
Ethan felt a pang of bitterness in his heart. He knew Lauren had been taking care of Quentin. Even though Ethan knew they had reconciled and had decided to give up on Lauren, the pain in his heart was still so intense.
