Chapter 431 Treatment Changes

Lauren stood there, speechless, clutching the soaked blanket. "Why the hell did you do this?" she demanded.

The servant, surprisingly good at playing dumb, looked at Lauren with a blank expression. "What are you talking about?"

Maybe during the day, the servant had some reservations, but after getting Odette's orders, she got bold.

"Miss Walker, we used to treat you well, but that doesn't mean you can just mooch off us."

After a bout of mockery, she strutted out of the room, leaving Lauren alone.

Lauren didn't want trouble, but she wasn't about to let herself get pushed around.

Holding the wet blanket, she quickly walked up to the servant, shoved it into her hands, and said firmly, "Take your dirty tricks and get out."

The servant was caught off guard, stunned into silence by Lauren's tone.

Lauren glanced at the few people downstairs, then calmly said, "Get me a new blanket."

"There are no new blankets left."

A sharp voice rang out.

Looking towards the source, Lauren saw it was Violette.

The situation was at a standstill.

Seeing the drastic change in the servants' attitudes, Lauren instantly understood.

This was all Odette's doing. Maybe seeing Odette as the future Mrs. Robinson, these people sided with her.

Lauren's brow furrowed, her expression darkening.

'Lauren, hang in there, you'll see Matthew soon.' She thought to herself.

Matthew was Lauren's last hope. Just thinking about him gave her strength.

Since she couldn't sleep on the bed, she decided to sleep on the floor.

Without hesitation, she grabbed a pillow, lay down on the floor, and fell asleep.

In a daze, it seemed someone quietly came over and covered her with a new blanket.

Over the next two days, Lauren's treatment worsened, but she felt someone was silently helping her.

Odette's wedding photoshoot was postponed by Quentin for two days.

One reason was his dislike for Odette, another was the busy company affairs, and most importantly, there was progress in Matthew's situation.

Early in the morning, Odette was waiting at the door for Quentin.

Felix had brought her, and she was holding a bouquet of bright red roses.

Felix said they were from Quentin.

As soon as Quentin got out of the car, Odette ran over, holding the flowers in one hand and linking arms with Quentin.

Quentin instinctively wanted to keep his distance from Odette, but not wanting to ruin his plans, he suppressed his disgust and said softly, "Sorry to keep you waiting."

The bright red roses felt like a burning knife, piercing Lauren's heart.

Seeing the two so close, Lauren felt her heart being wrapped in poisonous vines, burning with pain.

She told herself not to care, to forget Quentin, but it all crumbled in an instant.

Lauren couldn't calmly watch Quentin with another woman.

"Are you waiting for us on purpose, Miss Walker?" Odette exclaimed, tightening her grip on Quentin, as if declaring her identity.

"Ms. Foster, you made such a scene this morning, turning the house upside down, just to make me wait for you," Lauren said bluntly, her face expressionless but her eyes filled with endless sorrow.

She turned her head away, not wanting to see the face she had dreamed of countless times.

"Look, I think these flowers suit you. When Quentin gave them to me, I thought they were too bright, not my style. Now I see they match you well," Odette said, walking over to Lauren with the bouquet, her tone full of pride, as if telling Lauren she was Quentin's bride.

"Miss. Walker, why do you look so pale?" Odette mocked as she approached Lauren.

Lauren snorted, a sarcastic smile on her face. "You notice everything, don't you?"

Lauren had been sleeping on the floor these days. If not for a kind person giving her a blanket, she might not have been able to get up.

Now Odette was flaunting herself.

The two stared at each other, as if sparks could fly any moment.

"The set is ready, we can start," the photographer snapped his fingers.

Odette turned back to Quentin, ran over, and unexpectedly kissed his cheek, saying coyly, "Quentin, I'm going to put on my wedding dress and become your bride."

Quentin nodded, shook off Odette, and said, "Hurry up," before following Felix to change into his suit, leaving Odette awkwardly standing in the hall.

"I'm not familiar with this place. Miss. Walker, could you take me to the dressing room? I want to change into my wedding dress," Odette said, tilting her head, showing an innocent face that would make any man feel pity.

If Lauren had met Odette for the first time, she might have believed her. But she knew Odette's tricks well and wasn't falling for it.

"Ms. Foster should be more familiar with the servants here. Let them take you," Lauren said deliberately, making Odette's expression darken, a warning to be careful.

Odette had no choice but to call a servant to take her and the makeup artists to change.

Lauren looked around.

The once quiet house was now bustling with people.

"Mrs. Robinson," Felix said respectfully, bowing to Lauren.

"You don't need to call me Mrs. Robinson," Lauren replied.

Such a title was now a mockery to her.

"If you need anything, just let me know," Felix offered.

Quentin had noticed Lauren's pale face, much worse than when they last met.

"I want to leave here," Lauren said seriously, with a hint of sarcasm, looking at Felix without any hope.

As expected, Felix looked at her with difficulty.

Lauren knew well.

Quentin had sent Felix to help her, but in reality, he was there to monitor her, preventing her from escaping.

In the study, Quentin had already changed into his suit, sitting expressionlessly on the sofa. Opposite him was Theodosia.

Theodosia reported the recent events.

She was sent by Quentin to take care of Lauren in his absence.

Just as Theodosia was about to report the past few days' events, a commotion arose downstairs, likely Odette getting ready.
