Chapter 460 Innocent Words

Quentin quickly took her back to the room, locked the door, and gently laid Lauren on the bed.

His tall frame loomed over her, and he whispered in a dangerous tone, "What do you think I want to do?"

Lauren's face turned red.

She turned her head slightly to avoid Quentin's heated breath and whispered, "How would I know what you want to do?"

"Do you not know? You said you had a surprise for me, but you tricked me into eating so much. Now I feel stuffed. Don't you think you owe me something?" Quentin teased her.

A guilty look flashed quickly in Lauren's eyes. "Who tricked you into eating so much? I prepared those dishes carefully. If you didn't like them, you didn't have to eat them."

Quentin's deep, husky laugh sent shivers down Lauren's spine.

Under his increasingly intense gaze, Lauren finally admitted her intention.

"Okay, fine. I tricked you into eating. Are you feeling that uncomfortable? How about I take you for a walk in the garden to help you digest?"

She tried to get up, hoping to escape their dangerously close position, but Quentin pressed her back onto the bed.

"I do feel stuffed, but I have a better way to help with digestion. Do you want to hear it?"

Quentin's voice had a mesmerizing quality.

He hadn't done anything yet, but Lauren already felt her whole body burning.

Under Quentin's seductive charm, Lauren nodded absentmindedly.

But as soon as she did, she realized she had been tricked.

But it was too late to regret now, and Quentin didn't seem like he was going to give her a chance to back out.

Summoning her courage, she asked, "What's your better way to help with digestion?"

"I heard exercise helps with digestion."

Quentin didn't elaborate, assuming Lauren would catch his hint.

But to his surprise, she completely misunderstood.

"I think you're right. Let's go for a run. That should help."

Lauren tried to get up again, but Quentin pushed her back down. "Lauren, are you pretending not to understand? When I said exercise, I meant the kind we do in bed."

Lauren's eyes widened in shock, but Quentin just laughed. He was pleased with her reaction.

With a swift move, he pulled the covers over them, and they spent a shameless night together.

Lauren's internal clock woke her up in the morning. She groggily opened her eyes and glanced at her phone. It was only 9 AM. Quentin was asleep beside her.

She only meant to take a quick look at him, but once she did, she couldn't look away.

Quentin's features were too perfect. No matter how many times she saw him, she couldn't help but marvel at his beauty.

God had been too generous to him, giving him perfect looks and a great family background.

If Lauren hadn't accidentally saved Jessica, she doubted she would have ever had this chance with him.

Propping herself up on one arm, Lauren traced Quentin's features with her eyes.

Suddenly, Elijah's face popped into her mind.

In some ways, Elijah looked even more like Quentin than Matthew did.

"There can't be two people who look so similar for no reason. Could Elijah be Quentin's?"

Lauren's thoughts spiraled, and she quickly shook her head to clear them.

She couldn't doubt Quentin like this. She needed to trust him more.

But no matter how much Lauren tried to convince herself, Elijah's face wouldn't leave her mind. She even remembered Quentin's odd reaction when he first saw Imogen.

All these connections made her think more.

While Lauren was lost in thought, Quentin quietly opened his eyes.

He had noticed when Lauren propped herself up to look at him, but stayed silent to see what she would do.

With a quick move, he pulled her back into his arms. "Am I that good-looking? You were staring at me."

Lauren quickly hid her chaotic thoughts and gave him a playful glare. "Who said I was looking at you? Narcissist."

Quentin chuckled, clearly in a good mood. He sat up and planted a gentle kiss on the top of her head. "Let's get up."

By the time they got downstairs, it was almost 9:30.

Matthew had already finished breakfast and was about to get in the car.

Seeing Lauren come down, he ran over to her. "Mommy, you were lazy again today."

"I take you to school every morning. Can't I rest a bit for a few days?"

In front of Matthew, Lauren couldn't say much. She hugged him and playfully tapped his nose.

"Of course, Mommy can be lazy. You don't have to take me to school for the next few days. I can go by myself, and the butler will come with me."

Matthew's serious tone made Lauren and Quentin laugh.

Lauren pretended to be curious. "Why are you so understanding today? Didn't you always insist I take you to school?"

Matthew looked between the two of them for a long time before his gaze settled on Lauren's belly. "The butler said you and Daddy are doing something very important. Maybe I'll have a little sister soon. Mommy, when will my sister be born? I can't wait to play with her."

Quentin had already started laughing.

Seeing Lauren glare at him, he turned his head away, but his shaking shoulders gave him away.

Lauren felt both shy and awkward. Faced with Matthew's innocent eyes, she didn't know how to answer his question.

Luckily, the butler cleared his throat and took Matthew from Lauren's arms. "Mr. Robinson, it's getting late. We need to get to school."

"Right. The teacher said we're playing games today. I can't be late. Bye, Mommy. Bye, Daddy."

Matthew's thoughts were easily diverted.

The butler carried him out, and he waved goodbye to Lauren and Quentin with a smile.

After Matthew left, Quentin couldn't hold back his laughter any longer.

Noticing Lauren's increasingly dangerous look, he quickly stopped and clarified, "You can't blame me for this. I didn't teach him that. I'll have a word with the butler when he gets back. He shouldn't say things like that in front of Matthew."
