Chapter 433 Unbearable

Quentin stood stiff as a board in front of the camera, no matter what the photographer said. His face remained expressionless, while Odette fidgeted and posed awkwardly by herself.

Noticing Violette was nowhere to be seen, Quentin figured she must be off tormenting Lauren.

"Let's take a break," he suggested.

Being around Odette for so long had pushed Quentin's patience to its limit, and he was also worried about Lauren, who was out of sight.

"But we just started," Odette protested, her big, watery eyes looking at Quentin with a feigned innocence that was hard to stomach.

Felix, standing nearby, quickly stepped in with a polite tone, "Ms. Foster, Mr. Robinson has been working very hard these past few days. He's not in the best shape today."

"Who asked you? Mind your own business," Odette snapped, glaring at Felix with a look that sent shivers down his spine.

Felix's face showed his discomfort, and the people around them watched eagerly, anticipating how badly Felix might get it.

Quentin watched Odette with a blank expression. He was well aware of her recent antics, using her status as his fiancée to throw her weight around.

With a dark look, he said sternly, "Odette."

The tension in the room spiked immediately. Quentin's furrowed brow signaled his displeasure, something even Odette couldn't miss.

She quickly switched to a more demure demeanor, clinging to Quentin's arm and saying softly, "I'm sorry, Quentin. I was being thoughtless. I just get so excited thinking about our wedding."

Felix, watching Odette's over-the-top act, felt a wave of disgust but kept his face neutral, having worked with Quentin for many years.

Seeing Quentin remain unresponsive, Odette put on a tearful display, pleading, "Quentin, please forgive me."

"Fine," Quentin replied, too tired to argue. Odette, however, mistook his indifference for affection.

Meanwhile, Lauren was cornered in a narrow hallway by Violette and her group.

"Don't push us too far," Lauren warned, shielding Theodosia behind her. Lauren was soaked, with bits of food on her shoulders, but she had kept Theodosia safe.

"You sure know how to curry favor," Violette sneered. She had disliked Theodosia from the moment she arrived, and now saw her chance.

"I'm sorry you got dragged into this," Lauren said, frustrated.

Theodosia was shocked, never expecting Lauren to protect someone she barely knew.

"Birds of a feather, huh? If you won't work, then I'll beat you until you do," Violette threatened, eager to punish Theodosia, who had always defied her.

"Who dares!" Lauren shouted, making the servants hesitate. Despite her low status, her connection to Quentin made them wary.

Theodosia, however, was just a servant with no background. If things went south, they could easily pin the blame on her.

Seeing the servants' hesitation, Lauren knew her bluff had worked. She whispered to Theodosia, "Don't be afraid. I won't let them hurt you."

Theodosia was genuinely moved. She had initially seen Lauren as just another task from Quentin, but now her view had changed.

"If you don't move, don't blame us for what happens next," Violette warned, but the servants were too scared to act.

Frustrated, Violette grabbed a stick and swung at Lauren, but her age slowed her down.

Lauren easily dodged with Theodosia, spotting an escape route. She tried to leave, but Violette grabbed Theodosia's dress, pulling her down.

Lauren was shocked and quickly helped her up, only to feel a sharp pain as the stick scratched her neck.

Theodosia, panicked, checked Lauren's injury. "She's Mr. Robinson's person. Aren't you afraid of what he'll do?" Theodosia shouted, surprising Lauren with her boldness.

Violette scoffed, "You're just a servant. How dare you talk back to me?"

"Don't forget, so are you," Lauren retorted, slapping Violette. The surrounding servants were stunned, stepping back in fear.

"I've tolerated enough. If you mess with us again, we'll go down together," Lauren warned, helping Theodosia up and leaving.

Quentin, resting on the couch with Odette, was irritated by her constant chatter. He was worried about Lauren, but couldn't go looking for her.

Just as he was about to send Felix to find Lauren, he heard a commotion, recognizing Lauren's voice.

Odette's face tensed, and she looked anxiously towards the hallway.

'Lauren wouldn't cause a scene in the main hall, would she?' Odette thought and fretted, her hands clenched tightly.
