Chapter 356 The War of Women

"Odette, I'm coming in." Feeling sorry for what she did yesterday, Lauren made some porridge and brought it over as an apology for Odette's breakfast.

To her surprise, when she arrived at Odette's door, it was already open.

"Come in," Odette's voice came from inside.

Lauren placed the lunchbox on the dining table and walked further in, seeing Odette brushing her hair.

Odette was only wearing a shirt, and the style seemed somewhat familiar to Lauren.

Lauren turned her head to look at Odette's bedroom. The messy bed looked like someone had just gotten up, and there was a familiar scent in the room.

"Could it be..." Lauren remembered that Quentin hadn't come home last night, knowing he had gone to take care of Odette. She felt it was her fault, so she didn't dare to ask more.

Seeing Lauren's concern, Odette said, "Most of Quentin's clothes are picked out by me. Quentin says I have good taste, so he leaves these things to me."

"I see," Lauren finally understood.

"But Quentin doesn't know that many of the clothes are matching couple outfits," Odette said, covering her face and laughing lightly.

Seeing Odette like this, Lauren felt an indescribable pressure. Odette was different from the other women before; she was direct and straightforward, making her harder to deal with.

"Quentin took care of me all night last night," Odette turned around and said to Lauren.

Unlike when they first met yesterday, Odette now seemed more mature and decisive.

"Yes, I know," Lauren tried to calm her emotions, but her voice couldn't help but tremble.

"We slept together," Odette casually dropped the sentence as if it were a normal thing.

"Do you think I would believe what you say?" Having been hurt too many times before, this time Lauren chose to trust Quentin, but she didn't expect to be wrong again.

"If you don't believe me, you can ask Quentin," Odette said, laughing even more happily at Lauren's words.

Odette walked up to Lauren, held her hand, and said sincerely, "Lauren, I really like you. I think you're a great person."

"So this is how you treat me?" At this moment, Lauren was truly heartbroken. Looking at Odette, she didn't seem to be lying. So how did Quentin treat her?

Odette said, "Lauren, don't mind. I won't compete with you for Quentin. We're just maintaining our previous relationship."

Lauren felt a sharp pain in her heart. Had Quentin already had a sexual relationship with Odette? And multiple times?

"Quentin's first time was with me, and my first time was with him," Odette said, her face blushing uncontrollably. "At that time, Quentin was beaten by his father, then drank a lot, and then we..."

Lauren couldn't stay calm anymore and stood up to leave, "You don't need to tell me, I don't want to hear it."

"Lauren, don't be mad at Quentin. He didn't mean to hide it from you," Odette explained for Quentin, "He didn't expect me to come back. Just pretend I don't exist."

"How could I pretend you don't exist?" Lauren sneered, "If that were the case, you shouldn't have told me any of this."

"I just didn't want you to feel like we were hiding something from you." Odette said.

Seeing Odette's sincere look, Lauren almost believed her, "I really don't know if I should call you naive or deeply scheming."

After saying this, Lauren left without looking back.

Lauren decided it was time to have a good talk with Quentin.

When Lauren got home, she saw Quentin playing video games with Matthew.

"Mommy, you're back," Matthew said, running towards Lauren, but she avoided him. "Matthew, can you go play outside for a bit? Mommy and Daddy need to talk."

Seeing Lauren so serious, Matthew didn't dare to ask more. He nodded lightly and took his remote control car outside.

"Go ahead," Quentin sat on the couch, looking up at Lauren.

"Did you sleep with Odette last night..." Lauren couldn't bear to continue.

"Yes," Quentin answered calmly, "Did Odette tell you?"

"Yes, I know everything," Lauren's voice choked up.

"That's her nature, she can't keep things to herself." Quentin said.

Hearing Quentin say this, Lauren got even angrier, "So you understand her quite well? Why don't you consider my feelings?"

Quentin stood up, walked to Lauren, and comforted her, "It's complicated. I don't know how to explain. Just think of it as before. Didn't you know I had many women outside back then?"

"But this time is different!" Lauren shook off Quentin's hand.

Actually, Lauren couldn't quite say what was different. It was the same situation of Quentin having women outside. Was it because her status was different? But she was also his wife back then. Maybe she loved him more now, thinking that after all they had been through, things were different.

But the more people expected, the greater the disappointment.

Lauren was furious. "In any case, I can't accept Odette."

Seeing Lauren so angry, Quentin tried to kiss her to shut her up, but she avoided it. "I don't want to."

Hearing her say this, Quentin found her even more adorable.

"You're so cute when you're jealous," Quentin cupped Lauren's chin, making her face him. Ignoring her struggle, he kissed her forcefully.

"Quentin! You jerk!" Lauren said.

"Is it the first time you're meeting me?" Quentin said, lifting Lauren and throwing her onto the bed.

"I won't agree to this," Lauren tightly held onto her clothes. Though she said this, her emotions had already softened.

"Let's see how I make you beg me later," Quentin skillfully pried open Lauren's mouth, leaving her no chance to breathe.

In a haze, Lauren compromised once again.

Lauren changed from being passive and took the initiative with Quentin. Facing this side of Lauren, Quentin became even more excited.

'I just don't want to lose to Odette,' Lauren thought to herself.
