Chapter 174 Returning to the Ancestral Home

Lauren gave Kimberly a curious look, noticing her mom seemed relieved.

"What's up, Mom?" Lauren asked.

Kimberly shook her head. "Did he give you any trouble?"

Quentin had always been cold and ruthless around Kimberly, so she worried about Lauren.

Lauren looked confused. "No! If everything goes well, I can get my residency permit back."

Kimberly sighed in relief. "That's great. Now you can live your own life. We can handle Matthew's vaccinations and school stuff ourselves," she said happily.

Lauren smiled faintly. Yeah, she wouldn't have to deal with Quentin anymore.

The next day, Quentin quickly took care of Matthew's matters and called Lauren.

Lauren thought Quentin wanted her to handle something, but she was surprised by what he said.

"Are you free today?" Quentin asked calmly.

Lauren was taken aback. "Uh, yeah, why?"

Quentin chuckled. "I talked to the administration office. We need a birth certificate and your authorization letter to get Matthew's ID. Most importantly, we need to give Matthew a name. So, this can't be rushed. Come out, I want to discuss Matthew's name with you."

Lauren fell into deep thought. She and Jessica had only given Matthew the nickname Matthew, planning to decide on his full name when Quentin returned. But then things changed.

"You can discuss Matthew's name with Jessica," Lauren said flatly. She cared about Matthew's name but didn't want to go to the Robinson family.

"You're Matthew's mother. Your opinion matters the most. Stop talking, I'll pick you up. Jessica also wants to see Matthew. We can discuss the name at the ancestral home with her," Quentin said firmly.

Lauren was touched. That would be fine with her. She felt being alone with Quentin would be unpleasant. The divorced couple with damaged sentiments didn't want to bond by naming a child.

After much deliberation, Lauren agreed. Quentin ended the call, satisfied, without asking for her current address.

A few minutes later, a horn sounded below Lauren's apartment complex. Without thinking, Lauren looked out the window and saw the familiar black Ferrari.

It turned out Quentin already knew she lived here. Her hiding was meaningless.

Lauren turned back to her room, packed her things, and went directly to Kimberly's room. "Mom, I'm taking Matthew to the Robinson Estate now."

Kimberly was puzzled. "What's going on?"

"I want to discuss Matthew's ID with Jessica. Mom, don't wait for me for dinner. I don't know when I'll be back."

Lauren said as she took Matthew from Kimberly's arms and prepared to leave, leaving Kimberly in shock.

"Are you going now? Won't you let Ethan take you?" Kimberly asked.

"No need to trouble him," Lauren responded as she walked.

Lauren went downstairs and walked directly towards Quentin's parked car. Quentin saw her through the rearview mirror, smiled, got out of the car, and gentlemanly opened the door for her.

Once in the car, Quentin said seriously, "Jessica said she misses you and wants to see more of you."

After several days of snow in City A, Jessica's health had taken a hit. The cold weather kept her bedridden.

Hearing this, Lauren felt a pang of guilt. Jessica feared she wouldn't see Matthew grow up due to her declining health.

So, handling Matthew's ID couldn't be delayed, and Lauren wanted to make Jessica happy.

"Okay, I understand," Lauren responded lightly.

"There are some gifts in the back seat for Jessica. She'll be happy," Quentin said.

Lauren glanced at Quentin, who was focused on driving, and admired his thoughtfulness. She hadn't been as considerate towards Jessica.

They drove to the Robinson Estate in silence.

George saw Lauren and Quentin arriving together at the ancestral home. His expression changed slightly but quickly returned to normal.

He greeted them politely and led them to Jessica's room.

Jessica was overjoyed to see Lauren, her face glowing with happiness.

"Lauren, you're here! This is wonderful!" Jessica said.

Lauren quickly walked to Jessica's bedside with Matthew. "Matthew and I came to see you. How have you been?"

Jessica smiled and nodded. "Good. It's so cold, are you and Matthew doing well?"

Lauren showed Matthew to Jessica. "Don't worry, Jessica, we're doing well too."

Jessica looked at Matthew and said, "Matthew is growing so fast. In a flash, he's grown a lot."

Lauren smiled at Matthew. "Jessica, it's time to get Matthew's ID. Without it, his vaccinations will be delayed, and other things will be inconvenient. So, what do you think would be a good name for Matthew?"

"A formal name? You and Quentin should decide together. I'll like whatever name you choose," Jessica said lovingly, looking at the adorable Matthew.

Lauren glanced at Quentin, who was smiling at her, making her feel uneasy.

"Jessica, how about Matthew being named Mattana Robinson?"

Quentin smiled at Lauren and Jessica. He had thought about the name Mattana for a long time, as if it was meant for Matthew.

"Mattana, a gift from God, has a great meaning. Lauren, what do you think of this name?" Jessica was very pleased.

Lauren nodded. The name was indeed good. She liked it too.

She smiled and said, "I think it's great. Let's name him Mattana."

Lauren's approval made Quentin very happy. He looked at Lauren proudly, his eyes seemingly boasting about his creation.

However, Lauren ignored Quentin's gaze and looked directly at Jessica, feeling a taste of happiness.

Jessica looked back and forth between Lauren and Quentin, smiling. "Lauren, since you're here today, why don't you stay for lunch?"

Lauren nodded. "Jessica, we'll finish Matthew's ID procedures first and then come back. Please wait for us at home, okay?"

Jessica nodded repeatedly. That would be great. She wanted Lauren and Quentin to spend more time together.
