Chapter 392 The Conspirator
It was supposed to be like this.
Lauren thought pessimistically.
If she hadn't shown up, maybe Jessica wouldn't have died so early.
She must be a jinx for Quentin.
The man's hand came at Lauren against the light, and Lauren closed her eyes in despair.
It turned out that when a person was in deep despair, there were no tears, and even basic emotions were erased.
"Stop!" A voice with an undeniable tone broke Lauren's despair. She opened her eyes and saw Gregory's face.
The dim light cast on his face made Gregory's handsome features appear somewhat sinister and terrifying.
"What? You want to interrupt me?" Odette's tone was very impatient. Just as Lauren was about to be violated, Gregory suddenly intervened, ruining her fun.
"How could I?" Gregory smiled. "Have you forgotten who got you out of the police station?"
Gregory was reminding Odette to understand their relationship.
"I haven't forgotten." Odette said irritably. She hadn't forgotten that it was Gregory who had caused her so much trouble.
Odette sneered, "I thought you couldn't bear to see Lauren being violated!"
Gregory heard the sarcasm in Odette's words, but he didn't mind. He smiled and said lightly, "I just want to use Lauren for something meaningful."
"Really?" Odette rolled her eyes and said, "So what are you planning to do?"
"I won't agree!" Before Gregory could speak, Lauren shouted loudly, "Gregory, haven't you already taken Robinson Conglomerate? Why do you still need to do this!"
Lauren's questioning made Gregory laugh. He thought Lauren was extremely foolish; no wonder she would fall for an idiot like Quentin.
In Lauren's confused gaze, Gregory spoke words that were chillingly realistic. "Do you think anyone would refuse benefits placed right in front of them? Especially when they were taken from Quentin."
Lauren finally understood that to Gregory, she was not an object of interest at all. He might not even see her as a person but as an accessory to Quentin.
Gregory wanted to take everything from Quentin, and Lauren just happened to be included.
If Quentin's wife were Wendy, Sophia, or Odette, Gregory would be just as interested.
"What? Too scared to speak?" Gregory asked with a smile.
"I won't submit." Lauren said, trembling. She was still afraid of her future and what she would face next, but her beautiful eyes revealed determination and defiance.
"Now that you say that, I'm actually interested in you." Gregory's smile widened. He took off his coat, revealing his muscular abs covered in scars.
"Don't come any closer." Lauren felt her breath catch. She instinctively tried to move back, but Gregory grabbed the rope binding her first.
"What, weren't you just talking tough?" Gregory didn't rush to act. He was waiting for the drug to take full effect. "I want to see how long you can hold out after being injected with an aphrodisiac."
Odette touched her nose and left with the men she had brought, waiting for Gregory's good news.
But half an hour passed, and there was still no movement inside.
Odette couldn't help but take a curious look, only to find that Lauren's clothes had been torn off, but Gregory was kneeling on the bed, clutching his shoulder.
Clearly, he had not succeeded.
"What a mad dog!" Odette was shocked.
In the factory, Gregory put on his clothes and kicked the unconscious Lauren to the side.
"Is it fun?" Odette put away her phone and asked.
"Watch your tone." Gregory reminded, then paused and continued, "Who knew this bitch, to be so uncooperative."
He hadn't had sex with Lauren, of course not. He was extremely disappointed in her, so he could only use a sedative to knock her out and then use misaligned photography to achieve the effect of the photos.
"Aren't you afraid Quentin will kill you?" Odette frowned. She didn't care about Gregory, but she was concerned about what Quentin would think of her if he found out she took the photos.
"Do you think Quentin, as the CEO of Robinson Conglomerate, would kill someone for a woman?" Gregory retorted, "He wouldn't. No matter how much Quentin loves Lauren, he can't live without her. You still think too highly of a man's love."
Odette didn't speak. She didn't mention that she had a bad feeling about this.
"Also, prepare a photo, a Photoshopped one will do." Gregory lit a cigarette and said to Odette, "A bed photo of you and Quentin."
Odette blushed, thinking of her first night with Quentin.
"If you can't do it, find someone who can. Get it done in half an hour. As for Lauren, this stupid woman is still useful for now. When she's no longer useful, we'll get rid of her completely." Gregory interrupted Odette's fantasy.
He didn't have time to indulge Odette's useless thoughts.
He wanted to take back everything that belonged to him from Quentin.
Gregory thought, his hand touching his shoulder, where beneath the thin fabric were Lauren's teeth marks.
It was evidence of his failed attempt at coercion.
