Chapter 373 The Newcomer

Lauren arrived at her floor just in time to see Gregory stepping out of the adjacent elevator.

"Morning," Gregory greeted Lauren proactively.

Gregory was wearing a white shirt, with a glimpse of a watch peeking out from his cuff. His refined features and extraordinary demeanor stood out.

If Lauren didn't know him, she might have mistaken him for a high-ranking executive in the company.

"You're here!" Lauren said, extremely pleased. "Let me take you to meet the other employees in our department."

Lauren led Gregory to the design department, where Odette and others were already present.

"Let me introduce everyone," Lauren pushed Gregory to the center. "This is Gregory Walker, a new employee from an outside company. From today, he'll be joining our design department."

"He's so handsome!" The single women in the department couldn't help but start fantasizing.

Gregory smiled gently, "I look forward to working with all of you."

"Gregory!" Odette waved, "Come over here, there's an empty spot right next to me."

Gregory nodded, moved his things to the desk next to Odette, and started organizing his belongings.

However, Gregory's arrival also sparked some gossip about Lauren.

"Don't you think it's odd? This isn't the company's hiring season. He must have some connections."

"Maybe Ms. Walker and Mr. Robinson are having an affair."

Lauren had always been too lazy to bother with such rumors.

It wasn't that Lauren didn't want to address them; the more she explained, the more exaggerated the rumors became.

"What are you all talking about?" Gregory walked up to the gossiping women, his expression serious, a stark contrast to the gentle demeanor he had when he first arrived.

"Ms. Walker is right here. Do you think you can be so reckless just because she doesn't hold it against you?" Gregory's words scared the women into silence.

"If I hear this again, you'll be sorry." With that, Gregory turned and left, leaving them trembling and reflecting on what had just happened.

This was the first time Lauren had seen Gregory angry. She hadn't expected such a kind person to have such a temper.

"Lauren, why do you let others bully you like this?" Gregory followed Lauren to her office and sighed deeply.

Lauren gave a bitter smile, "There's nothing I can do."

Gregory shook his head, knowing that those people took advantage of Lauren's good nature. "Don't worry, as long as I'm here, no one will bully you again."

A ray of sunlight shone on Gregory, making his neck look even more attractive.

These days, Lauren had a project to rush, busy trying to launch their company's local brand as soon as possible.

From raw material selection to processing, every step had to be flawless, and Lauren was meticulously overseeing everything.

"Zoey," Lauren called out to Zoey Gray outside, "Print ten copies of this document for me within five minutes, and then bring me a cup of coffee."

"Okay," Zoey replied begrudgingly.

Zoey had been watching a TV show and was annoyed to be interrupted at the climax to do work.

While printing the documents, Zoey continued watching the next half-hour of the show before finally bringing the documents back.

"Why did it take so long?" Lauren, growing impatient, noticed Zoey didn't have the coffee she asked for and questioned her, "Where's my coffee?"

"I forgot," Zoey rolled her eyes, silently complaining, 'Don't you have hands and feet? Do you need me to do everything for you?'

Already frustrated with work, Lauren became even angrier seeing Zoey's attitude.

"Is this the attitude of a subordinate?" Seeing Lauren hesitate to scold Zoey, Gregory stepped in and reprimanded her.

"Do you think no one knows you were secretly watching your phone by the printer?" Gregory exposed Zoey's laziness.

Embarrassed and angry, Zoey's face turned red, and she started cursing at Gregory. "Who do you think you are? Just a new employee, what right do you have to talk to me like that? My dad is..."

"Then tell me, who is your dad?" A voice came from behind. Lauren turned to see Quentin had arrived.

'Why is Quentin here?' Lauren was surprised.

"Mr. Robinson." Zoey's arrogance vanished instantly upon seeing Quentin.

"Pack your things and leave immediately. I don't want to have to say it twice." Quentin said coldly.

Zoey wanted to defend herself, but seeing Quentin's murderous look, she quickly went to pack her things.

"Quentin." Lauren was very touched that Quentin had come to her rescue. "Why are you here?"

But Quentin ignored Lauren and walked straight to Odette, pulling her away.

It was as if the person who had just scolded Zoey wasn't Quentin.

'So he came to see Odette and just happened to catch an employee slacking off, so he gave her a scolding.' Lauren thought, feeling a wave of bitterness. The joy she felt earlier was now replaced with disappointment.

"Quentin, you're hurting me," Odette tried to pull her hand back, but Quentin wouldn't let go.

Before entering the design department, Quentin had seen Gregory standing up for Lauren.

'When did they get so close?' Quentin felt increasingly irritated at the thought.

Since Lauren had Gregory by her side, Quentin couldn't afford to lose to her.

Originally, Quentin had come to see Lauren, but seeing her so close with Gregory, he took Odette away out of spite.

In the elevator, neither Quentin nor Odette spoke.

Odette could tell Quentin was in a bad mood and had a roughly idea.

What Odette hadn't expected was that Quentin would care so much about Lauren.

Thinking she had lost to Lauren, Odette felt extremely resentful.
