Chapter 459 A Carefully Prepared Surprise

The butler had been serving at the Robinson Villa for many years and had a keen sense of perception.

Knowing that Lauren was a bit shy, he decided not to tease her any further and quickly had the kitchen bring out the food.

As Lauren ate, she casually glanced around the room.

The butler, noticing her subtle search, smiled and said, "Mrs. Lauren Robinson, are you looking for Mr. Quentin Robinson? He had some urgent matters at the office and had to leave, but he said he'd be back to have dinner with you tonight."

Lauren felt a bit embarrassed that the butler had read her thoughts and quickly retorted, "Who's looking for him? I wasn't looking for him at all!"

The butler chuckled softly but didn't call her out on the lie. "Of course, my mistake."

After the meal, Lauren lay in her room feeling a bit bored.

She suddenly remembered what Quentin had said last night.

Her apology did seem a bit too simple, considering she had misunderstood Quentin for such a long time.

But then again, she thought, she had made it up to him last night.

He was like a ravenous wolf that couldn't be satisfied.

With nothing to do in her room, Lauren mysteriously went downstairs and waved to the butler. "I need your help with something."

Lauren whispered in the butler's ear for a long time, and then asked, "Got it?"

The butler nodded with a kind smile. "I understand, Mrs. Lauren Robinson. You want to give Mr. Quentin Robinson a surprise. Don't worry, I'll take care of it."

"Alright. And don't tell Quentin about this beforehand, or I won't ask for your help in the future."

Worried that the butler might spill the beans to Quentin, Lauren made him promise several times to keep it a secret before she let him go.

That evening, when Quentin came home from work, he noticed that the Robinson Villa was dark, a stark contrast to its usual brightly lit state.

Quentin's expression froze slightly.

His first instinct was to think something had happened at home, and he hurried his steps.

But as he neared the door, he suddenly stopped.

The security at the Robinson Villa was always tight, so no one could break in.

He had just been too worried about Lauren's safety and momentarily forgot this fact.

Quentin pushed the door open and walked in, greeted by complete darkness.

He called out, "Lauren?"

He called several times, his voice echoing in the empty villa, but no one responded.

Quentin frowned and was about to leave when he heard a noise from the kitchen.

The kitchen light turned on, and then the villa fell silent again.

Quentin realized that nothing was wrong. Lauren must be up to something.

He started walking towards the kitchen, but as he passed through the living room, the lights suddenly turned on, and flower petals rained down, obscuring his vision.

When the petals settled on the ground, Quentin noticed a large flower ball hanging from the ceiling in the center of the living room.

The ball was hollow in the middle, filled with petals that cascaded down when it opened.

It was a very romantic setup, but it felt a bit out of place for Quentin, especially with a few red petals clinging to his hair.

The villa's decor had also been transformed, with small fairy lights and fresh flower arrangements everywhere, creating a high-end yet romantic atmosphere.

The butler, holding back laughter, walked out of the kitchen. "Mr. Quentin Robinson, Mrs. Lauren Robinson prepared all this for you. Do you like it?"

Quentin silently removed the petals from his head and asked, "Where is she?"

"Mrs. Lauren Robinson is in the kitchen. Please have a seat and wait for a moment."

The butler led Quentin to the dining table.

Soon, Lauren emerged from the kitchen, wearing a bear apron and carrying a dish in each hand, smiling brightly.

"Sit down and try this. I spent the whole afternoon coming up with these new dishes. I hope you like them."

The table was filled with beautifully plated dishes, at least a dozen.

Quentin's fingers twitched slightly as he looked at them.

Lauren always knew his preferences well.

As Quentin picked up his utensils, Lauren sat beside him, her eyes full of anticipation. "How is it? Is it good?"

Lauren's anticipation was mixed with nervousness. She had just come up with these dishes that afternoon and hadn't had time to taste them herself.

She was worried that her surprise might turn into a disaster.

Quentin slowly put the food in his mouth.

Seeing Lauren getting more nervous, he finally stopped teasing her and nodded. "It's good."

"Really? Don't just say that to spare my feelings."

Lauren was initially happy but a bit unsure. Quentin simply put some food into her mouth. "Try it yourself and see if I'm lying."

"It does taste good." Lauren chewed, her eyes lighting up.

She eagerly placed all the dishes in front of Quentin. "You have to eat more. These are all made with love."

Seeing Lauren's bright eyes, Quentin suddenly felt a pang of regret, as if he had done something wrong.

But under Lauren's eager gaze, he couldn't say anything.

He silently picked up his utensils and ate almost half of each dish, finally stopping when he couldn't eat any more.

He couldn't eat another bite. If he did, tomorrow's headlines might read: "Robinson Conglomerate CEO Quentin rushed to the ER for overeating."

But Lauren was already very satisfied with Quentin's performance.

She happily cleared the table, humming a tune as she prepared to go back to her room.

As she was going upstairs, Quentin suddenly appeared behind her, scooping her up and carrying her to the bedroom.

"What are you doing?"

Lauren blushed as she felt the butler's eyes on them when Quentin picked her up.
