Chapter 366 Gregory

'Quentin is just helping Odette out, don't overthink it, She saved Quentin's life back then, and they've known each other since childhood. It's only natural.' Lauren kept reassuring herself.

Although she understood the reason, it was hard to accept when it involved her.

Lauren didn't want to dwell on it any longer. She shook her head and walked straight into the hotel.

Just as she reached the lobby entrance, Lauren saw a man in a black suit. He had a refined appearance, wearing gold-rimmed glasses that complemented his well-defined features, giving him an extraordinary aura.

Lauren glanced at him a few times, only to accidentally meet his gaze.

Feeling a bit awkward, Lauren intended to leave quickly, but the man reached out to stop her.

"Hello, are you Ms. Walker?" the man asked Lauren.

A gentleman's inquiry was always hard to refuse.

"Yes, may I ask who you are?" Lauren retorted.

"My name is Gregory Walker." Gregory handed over his business card with both hands.

Gregory happened to share the same last name as her, which made Lauren feel a bit more favorable towards him.

After taking the business card, Lauren realized that Gregory was from Cloud Design Company.

"The design plans your company submitted, we've already made the models," Gregory explained the reason for his visit. "Originally, Mr. Robinson was supposed to come to our company today to discuss the agreement, but he never showed up. After inquiring, I found out that your company is on a team-building trip."

Gregory looked somewhat apologetic. "I'm really sorry to disturb you, but to avoid affecting our company's schedule, I came to ask Mr. Robinson to come over."

How could Quentin make such a scheduling mistake?

Lauren was a bit surprised. Based on her understanding of Quentin, even if Gregory found him, Quentin wouldn't go back with him and might even lose his temper.

"Mr. Walker, have you called Quentin?" Lauren tentatively asked Gregory.

"I did, but no one answered," Gregory said, shaking his head with a helpless look. "It's really hard for me to report back."

Thinking about Quentin carrying Odette earlier, they probably didn't have time to answer the phone.

With this thought in mind, Lauren felt a bit irritated.

"Miss Walker, are you feeling unwell?" Gregory noticed the change in Lauren's mood and asked with concern.

If only Quentin could be so attentive someday.

Lauren smiled wryly. "It's nothing. How about this, I'll go with you to check it out."

Hearing Lauren say this, Gregory was overjoyed. "Ms. Walker, you're really helping me out. I'll definitely treat you to coffee someday to express my gratitude."

Gregory seemed extremely happy, not just because of the business deal, but more like he had pleased his girlfriend.

"After all, it's our company's issue. I'm glad you don't mind," Lauren felt a bit embarrassed seeing Gregory's expression.

Gregory bent down and made a gesture of invitation. "My car is right outside. I'll drive you there."

"Okay." Lauren nodded and got into the car with Gregory.

The car was the same model as Quentin's, but Quentin's was black, and Gregory's was white.

Someone could tell a lot about a person from their choice of car, and this saying couldn't be more accurate.

Lauren initially wanted to sit in the back seat, but seeing Gregory had already opened the door for her, she had no choice but to sit in the front passenger seat.

The car seemed to have been sprayed with perfume, giving off a faint fragrance that reminded her of a book.

It was Gregory'sscent. Lauren had noticed it in the hotel lobby.

'Gregory must be a refined person with good taste,' she thought, accidentally letting out a small laugh.

"What's so funny?" Gregory glanced at Lauren.

His eyes looked somewhat similar to Quentin's, almost identical. Seeing this, Lauren was taken aback.

"Nothing," Lauren composed herself. She didn't want this newly acquainted man to think she was strange.

"It seems like you're feeling a bit better," Gregory turned the steering wheel. "You looked troubled when you walked in."

"Where are you going?" Lauren noticed Gregory had changed direction, and her heart started to race.

At that moment, Lauren regretted getting into a stranger's car so casually. What if he was deceiving her?

Lauren took out her phone, intending to call Quentin.

Noticing Lauren's hand reaching into her bag, Gregory smiled and explained, "Ms. Walker, don't misunderstand. I'm just going to the nearby coffee shop to get us some coffee."

So that was what it was.

Misunderstanding Gregory's good intentions, Lauren felt both awkward and apologetic.

"Actually, I didn't mean it that way," Lauren tried to find an excuse.

"Yes, I understand," Gregory nodded. "It's my fault for not explaining first."

At that moment, Lauren suddenly appreciated Gregory. He had a grace and demeanor that most men lacked.

"Just call me Lauren," Lauren said with a smile.

Putting aside the business cooperation, Lauren genuinely wanted to get to know Gregory and befriend him.

"Alright, Lauren," Gregory exhaled a sigh of relief. "You can call me Gregory."

Meeting Gregory unexpectedly on this trip was a pleasant surprise for Lauren. It also temporarily helped her forget the conflicts with Quentin.

The car stopped, and Gregory quickly got out and came to Lauren's side, opening the door for her.

"Watch your head," Gregory placed his hand above Lauren's head to prevent her from hitting the car.

"Thank you," Lauren felt a bit embarrassed by Gregory's kindness. She didn't know how to reciprocate his good treatment.

Gregory walked to the counter and said to the server, "A large coffee, no sugar, no milk."

After a pause, Gregory continued, "And a medium cappuccino, no sugar, with milk."

How did he know her preference?

Hearing Gregory's order, Lauren was extremely surprised.
