Chapter 415 Under Control

'Gregory's arrogance won't last long. Once Matthew and Kimberly are back with Quentin, Gregory will be finished for good,' Quentin thought.

This time, he wouldn't be soft-hearted like before. He would cast Gregory into an endless abyss, leaving him utterly hopeless.

After hanging up the phone, Gregory informed Odette.

After all, that brainless woman was one of the main players in this scheme.

"Are you serious?" Odette's voice trembled with excitement after hearing Gregory's words, her mouth curling into a bizarre smile.

She pinched her thigh to make sure she wasn't dreaming. She wasn't.

Quentin was going to marry her! She would soon be Mrs. Robinson!

Odette's mind filled with images of her wedding with Quentin, and she blushed furiously at the thought of their intimate moments.

Gregory's eyes flashed with disdain. He had no interest in watching Odette swoon.

"Have you fantasized enough?" Gregory interrupted her daydreams, regretting having such a lovesick fool as an ally.

"Yes," Odette giggled.

"From today, stay by Quentin's side as his fiancée. Try to seduce him into bed and record it," Gregory instructed.

He wasn't as foolish as Odette.

He knew Quentin's cunning and intelligence and was aware that Quentin wouldn't easily compromise.

He suspected Quentin had a hidden agenda, though he couldn't figure out what it was yet.

Odette eagerly nodded. Gregory's instructions were exactly what she wanted to do.

That evening, she went to Quentin's office.

The receptionist tried to stop her, but Odette slapped her to the ground.

She was the future Mrs. Robinson! How dare anyone stop her?

Odette pushed open the office door and peeked in playfully. "Quentin, I came to see you! Did you miss me?"

Quentin ignored the latter part of her sentence and responded to the first part.

Odette felt a bit disappointed not hearing the answer she wanted, but she quickly brushed it off, reminding herself of her new status as Quentin's fiancée.

"Quentin, when do you get off work?" Odette pulled up a swivel chair and sat close to Quentin, almost pressing herself against him.

Quentin subtly moved away and coldly replied, "The schedule is on the wall."

He glanced at the time on his computer screen. It was past quitting time, but he had no intention of leaving his chair.

He remembered how he once told Lauren that Robinson Conglomerate didn't allow overtime. Now, it seemed he was contradicting himself.

But it didn't bother him at all.

"It's already past quitting time," Odette pointed out, thinking Quentin hadn't noticed. "Quentin, you should clock out!"

She hoped Quentin would finish work soon so they could go shopping together.

Quentin didn't respond. He knew what Odette meant.

If it were Lauren urging him to leave work and spend time with her, he would be happy to oblige.

But Lauren wouldn't do that. She would stay and work late with him, facing everything together, just like in their wedding vows.

If it weren't for Wendy, Sophia, Ethan, Odette, and Gregory, they might have been very happy.

Quentin sighed quietly.

"Quentin! Did you hear me?" Odette put her hands on her hips, her cute face puffing up, making one want to pinch her cheeks.

Odette was indeed cute, but Quentin didn't like her.

"Yeah," Quentin replied curtly.

His thoughts returned to the computer screen, where an electronic document outlined the sales strategy for the next quarter.

He needed to finalize the document and design plans within the week and hand them over to the production team.

It wasn't a huge task, but Quentin wanted to condense a week's work into three days.

He wanted to avoid any intimate contact with Odette. At least while working, he could use the excuse of being busy. If Odette got impatient and left, all the better.

"Quentin! Why are you so cold to me? Won't you spend some time with me?" Odette wrapped her arms around Quentin's neck from behind, her breath hot against his ear.

Quentin frowned, pulling her arms away.

"Work," he said tersely.

His tone was laced with irritation. He didn't like Odette, and now she was disturbing him at work.

If it weren't for Matthew, he would have pushed her away.

"Quentin, if you don't spend time with me, I'll tell Gregory," Odette threatened, her mood souring.

She was Quentin's fiancée; why was he treating her so coldly?

Quentin's mood darkened. His dislike for Odette grew.

He especially hated being threatened, even in these special circumstances.

But dislike aside, for the sake of his plan, he had to compromise.

Once more.

Quentin closed his eyes to hide his fleeting anger. When he opened them, he was calm again.

"Odette, I don't like Gregory."

Odette understood immediately, offering a sweet apology. "I'm sorry, Quentin. I was just upset because you were ignoring me. Don't be mad, okay?"

Her tone made Quentin nauseous. He missed Lauren even more.

"Yeah," Quentin suppressed his revulsion, deciding to send Odette away.

He needed to see Lauren.

"Wait for me at the bar."

Odette finally smiled, thinking, 'Why couldn't he be like this from the start?'

She strutted out, her hips swaying like a snake.

Quentin watched from the window until she left the building. Then he shut down his computer and drove to Lauren's villa.

He needed to see her and had something to tell her.

Luckily, Lauren was awake.

She sat by a reading lamp, quietly flipping through a book of essays. Her soft hair fell naturally, and the light reflected in her dark eyes, adding a sparkle.

She wore a white dress, her beautiful face free of makeup, looking like an angel on earth.

Quentin didn't disturb her, just watched silently.

He wished time could freeze at this moment.

After a while, Lauren stretched and noticed Quentin at the door.

She was startled. How long had he been standing there?

"Do you need something?" Lauren asked.

Seeing Quentin lifted her spirits, which had been dampened by the maids' gossip.

Lauren wondered, then quickly dismissed the thought.

She shouldn't have feelings for Quentin!

The maids had been hinting that Quentin and Odette were together.

This made Lauren even more determined to hide her feelings for Quentin.
