Chapter 246 The Flirting Couple

Lauren saw Quentin's handsome face magnified in front of her, and she couldn't help but frown.

Quentin was full of worry and concern, but as soon as Lauren woke up, it all disappeared, and he returned to his usual cold demeanor.

Lauren sat up and reached for her calf. It was then that she remembered what had happened to her and guessed that Quentin had saved her.

"Thank you for what you did earlier," Lauren said awkwardly, expressing her gratitude. Although she didn't want to talk to him, she couldn't forgo basic manners.

Quentin's face darkened significantly, and he couldn't help but scold her loudly, "Are you an idiot? How can you drown in a place like this? How did you even survive this long?"

Did she have any idea that his heart nearly stopped when he saw her drowning from afar? At that moment, he had only one thought - he would never let Lauren die! Although staff members were already rushing to rescue her, he still got there as quickly as possible.

Lauren continued to frown. Quentin was right; she would probably become famous at this water park for drowning in a shallow pool. There couldn't be anyone else in the world as foolish and ridiculous as her.

So, she had no way to refute Quentin's scolding.

At this moment, the manager came running over, looking terrified at Quentin's displeased face, and said, "Mr. Robinson, this is our fault for not having adequate security measures. Miss, are you alright? Do you need an ambulance to take you to the hospital for a thorough check-up?"

Lauren smiled bitterly and said to the manager, "It's not your fault. I had a leg cramp in the water, which caused me to lose all my strength and led to the drowning."

Hearing this, the manager felt slightly relieved. But when Quentin glared at him, he almost fainted from fear.

The manager remarked, "No, it's our responsibility. We didn't consider that visitors might encounter such situations, so we didn't arrange the best rescue facilities. I sincerely apologize to you!"

The manager's actions in front of Quentin were quite strong. Facing the manager's sincere apology, Quentin felt his anger subsided a bit. After all, this incident couldn't be blamed on the water park's management; it was Lauren's leg cramp.

Quentin looked intently at Lauren, worried about why she would suddenly have a cramp.

"Let's go. I'll take you to the hospital," Quentin said, pulling Lauren up from the ground with an attitude that brooked no argument.

Lauren stumbled and almost fell, but fortunately, Quentin caught her in time, and she fell into his arms.

Seeing the frightened Lauren, Quentin regretted his rough actions. She had just woken up from nearly drowning. Her body must be very weak.

Quentin's behavior provoked Lauren's resistance. "Quentin, what are you doing?" she shouted. "I'm fine. I don't need to go to the hospital."

Quentin retorted, "If you were fine, would your leg cramp for no reason? Do you know you almost drowned?"

Lauren walked to the side, avoiding Quentin's gaze. She remarked, "I'm fine. It was just an accident. Matthew rarely gets to come here. Don't ruin his fun."

Quentin walked over to Lauren with a dark face, grabbed her arm, and said in a low voice, "But you need to get checked out first. Who knows if you have water in your brain!"

Lauren's face flushed with anger at his words. She shouted, "What do you mean, Quentin? You're the one with water in your brain!"

How dare he say that to her? He really thought she was easy to bully! She felt utterly humiliated in front of so many people.

In reality, there was nothing to be embarrassed about. To others, it simply appeared as playful banter between a couple.

At this moment, Matthew came running over, led by a staff member. He had seen Quentin running off in a hurry and didn't dare to run around, so he followed the staff member. However, he was also anxious, guessing that something bad must have happened given Quentin's urgency.

Fortunately, Matthew didn't see Lauren drowning. Otherwise, he would have cried and wanted to leave.

"Mommy, Daddy, why are you both here?" Matthew asked curiously.

Quentin was about to tell Matthew about Lauren's drowning, but Lauren stopped him.

Lauren said, "I got really tired from playing, so I was just about to ask your daddy to take you to play while I rest here, okay?"

Matthew ran to Lauren's side and started massaging her back. He said,  "Mommy, if you're tired, rest well. When you're rested, we can play on the slides together, okay?"

Lauren smiled and nodded. Matthew was so easy to deceive. He didn't notice her discomfort at all.

Seeing that Lauren insisted on letting Matthew continue to play, Quentin understood her good intentions. He put his worries aside.

"You take her to the rest area to rest properly," Quentin said sternly to the manager.

The manager quickly nodded in agreement, treating Lauren like a VIP.

The manager said, "Miss, please follow me."

Lauren shook her head with a smile. She said, "It's okay, I'm much better now. I'll sit here and rest. Matthew, play with your daddy. I'll find you when I'm rested."

Matthew didn't think much of it. Hearing this, he eagerly grabbed Quentin's hand and said, "Daddy, let mommy rest here. Let's play on the slides, okay?"

Quentin's gaze swept over Lauren. Seeing her lovingly looking at Matthew, he couldn't take his eyes off her because she looked so beautiful at that moment.

Matthew snapped Quentin out of his daze, pulling him forward. Quentin followed Matthew's steps while glancing back at Lauren as if his eyes were filled with many unspoken words.

Lauren smiled as she watched Matthew and Quentin play happily. She felt content. Having returned from certain death, she was still shaken. If she had died, would Quentin have been sad or would he have been happy to take Matthew back to the Robinson family?

She shook her head. There were no "what ifs" in this world. If there were, she wouldn't be as lost as she was now.

At Sophia's villa, Sophia was sulking.

Sophia's mother, Ruby Dixon, was looking at Sophia with a worried expression.

Ruby said, "Sophia, if you don't act now, look at these photos. Quentin actually took Lauren to the water park. It looks like they're reconciling!"

Ruby had given birth to Sophia while she was a mistress. Since she couldn't get into the Hall family despite all her efforts, she left in a fit of anger, abandoning Sophia.

Sophia was sent to the Robinson family to be raised. After Sophia betrayed Quentin, Ruby came back into her life, and they reconciled.
