Chapter 326 An Invitation with a Conspiracy

Lauren didn't want Kimberly to be in any danger. She'd faced death too many times herself and knew how terrifying it was. She didn't want Kimberly to go through that.

But Lauren also knew that once Kimberly made up her mind, there was no changing it.

Lauren's stubbornness? Yeah, she got that from Kimberly.

"As your daughter, I should support your decisions. It's just..." Lauren hesitated.

She wondered what Brent from the Obsidian Gang would do once he realized he'd been played.

"Lauren, you don't need to persuade me anymore," Kimberly said firmly, not wanting to hear another word.

With that, Kimberly left, leaving Lauren alone in the living room.

By midnight, the eerie silence reminded Lauren of the dangers she faced with Quentin at the Obsidian Gang and the injuries he suffered because of her.

The more she thought about it, the more her heart ached.

"Lauren, you're such a troublemaker. You've caused him so much pain, and now he's hurt and has pissed off the Obsidian Gang," Lauren muttered to herself, forcing a bitter laugh.

Given Kimberly and Ulysses' insistence on remaining in City A, relying on Quentin was the sole means of guaranteeing their safety.

"So, I'm no different from Sophia," Lauren sighed, heading to her room, exhausted from the day's events and her guilty conscience.

However, as she lay down on the bed, her mind unexpectedly sharpened, and she found herself unable to sleep.

Staring at the ceiling, Quentin's image popped into her mind.

Whether he was furious or cold and distant, she missed him terribly.

"I wonder how his injury is. Did the Obsidian Gang give him any trouble?" Lauren asked herself.

Thinking about the ruthless members of the Obsidian Gang, Lauren sat up in shock and quickly checked her phone for any news about Quentin.

Over the years, even though Lauren wasn't by Quentin's side, she always kept tabs on him this way, as if she had never left him.

Although she didn't want to admit it, she couldn't let go of him.

"There's no news about him. Is that good or bad?" Lauren's breathing quickened as she recollected the day's events, growing increasingly uneasy.

After being rescued, she was immediately taken away from the Obsidian Gang, knowing nothing about what happened afterward. Who held the shares of Robinson Conglomerate now? Was everything resolved smoothly?

Did Brent trouble Quentin after realizing he had been tricked?

The more Lauren thought about it, the more worried she became. She picked up her phone and dialed Quentin's number but hesitated to press the call button.

Turning her phone on and off repeatedly, Lauren needed just a bit more courage and determination to find out about him, but she ultimately backed down.

"With Sophia by his side, he should be fine," Lauren muttered bitterly, burying her head in the pillow, trying to push the thoughts away.

Quentin had barely scraped through his showdown with Brent that day.

At the Obsidian Gang, after signing the agreement with Quentin, Brent demanded an immediate shareholders' meeting that afternoon.

Eager to flex his muscles, Brent was thrilled when Quentin agreed without a second thought.

With Quentin's signed and stamped transfer agreement in hand, Brent strutted over to Robinson Conglomerate.

At the entrance, a guard stopped him.

Brent glared at the guard. "How dare you stop me? Do you want to lose your job?"

The guard found it amusing and was about to retort when the receptionist stepped in.

"Welcome, Mr. Reynolds. Mr. Robinson is waiting for you," She greeted.

Realizing it was someone with an appointment with Quentin, the guard stepped aside, letting Brent through.

Straightening his clothes, Brent walked a few steps before turning back to the receptionist, "He is no longer your president."

The receptionist kept a professional smile, unfazed by Brent's words.

Entering the conference room, Brent noticed everyone was already present, with Quentin seated at the head of the table, the position Brent had always desired.

'You'll only be sitting there for an hour,' Brent thought, reluctantly taking a seat to Quentin's left.

"Now that Mr. Reynolds is here, we can begin our meeting," Quentin announced.

Quentin organized his documents and had his secretary distribute them to the shareholders and Brent. He then projected the contents onto the central screen. "First, I want to thank Mr. Reynolds for taking over Robinson Conglomerate in its current state. You must be prepared to start from scratch. Your courage is commendable, Mr. Reynolds. You truly are the leader of the Obsidian Gang."

After Quentin's words, the shareholders applauded.

"Quentin, what do you mean by that?" Brent asked, sensing something was off, "What do you mean by starting from scratch? You better explain yourself."

Quentin chuckled, "Don't you know? I've already transferred my shares in Robinson Conglomerate to Noah. You might need to take a look at the documents I gave you."

Brent quickly flipped through the documents and, in a fit of rage, threw them to the ground, cursing Quentin, "Quentin, how dare you trick me!"

"Aren't you afraid something will happen to your family again?" Brent threatened.

"Then, see if you can get out of here," Quentin replied coldly.

This time, Quentin was fully prepared.
