Chapter 80 He's Jealous

Lauren saw Ethan, who had always been gentle, transformed into a different person when he saw Quentin. She couldn't help but feel distressed.

"Ethan, why did you suddenly come over?" Lauren stood directly in front of Ethan and asked him.

Ethan withdrew his gaze from Quentin and said slowly, "Aren't you bored at home? I have been sponsoring an orphanage, thinking that you, being pregnant, might enjoy seeing the children. So, I want to take you to relax."

Lauren was deeply grateful for Ethan's thoughtfulness.

"I really like children. I want to do my best to bring something for the kids. So before we go there, let's buy some things. Such as books, toys, clothes, and so on," Lauren said earnestly.

Ethan waved his hand. "I have prepared all of those."

Lauren patted her head. Ethan was always thorough in his actions. She should have known that he had everything prepared.

"Shall we set off? Quentin, would you like to come with us?" Ethan bypassed Lauren and walked up to Quentin.

Quentin felt that the man in front of him was extraordinary. 'He's my most powerful rival. No, he can't be called a rival because Lauren is already married to me. He could never take Lauren away because I would never give him that chance,' he thought.

Quentin had investigated Ethan before, knowing that he was a childhood friend of Lauren's. Since they were childhood friends, their relationship must be good. However, after so many years, they hadn't ended up together, indicating that she didn't like him. But Quentin could tell from Ethan's gaze toward Lauren that the guy's feelings for Lauren were definitely not simple.

Of course, Quentin also knew that he was the heir of the White Group. Because the White Group and the Robinson Conglomerate were equally powerful companies. But their businesses were different, they couldn't be considered direct competitors, so he had little contact with the White Group.

Quentin smiled. "Since there's a good place to relax, of course, I want to go," Quentin said.

Ethan didn't back down either. And both men smiled falsely, making Lauren want to escape.

Lauren changed her clothes, grabbed her backpack, and headed out. However, there were two cars parked in the residential parking lot, including Quentin's black Ferrari and Ethan's silver Spyker. The two luxury cars were surrounded by onlookers, making Lauren smile bitterly. It seemed impossible for her to live a low-key life.

At that moment, Quentin reached out and snatched the backpack from Lauren's hand. "Let's go," his cold voice ringing in Lauren's ears.

Lauren smiled because her other arm was being pulled by Ethan.

"Lauren, get in my car. I know where we're going," Ethan said cheerfully.

"How about the three of us going in the same car?" Lauren tried to free herself from their grasp, but neither of the men seemed willing to let go.

Quentin snorted. "I'll only get in my car. My car isn't something anyone can just get into."

Ethan snapped his fingers. "Funny, I was thinking the same thing."

Both men stood their ground, leaving Lauren with a headache. She wanted to relax, but these two men had been arguing non-stop since earlier. Her head was about to explode.

"Since you two get along so well, I think you two are more suitable to relax together."

After saying this, Lauren forcefully broke free from Quentin and Ethan's grip, turned around, and went back upstairs.

"Lauren, why are you going back?" Ethan shouted loudly.

Lauren, feeling angry, said, "I'm not going. I can stay at home peacefully. If you two want to go, go ahead!"

Quentin's face darkened as if it could drip water, while Ethan shrugged in silence.

"Lauren is my woman. please get that straight!" Quentin's tone was icy and harsh.

The indifferent expression on Ethan disappeared, replaced by a serious and solemn expression.

"She might be now, but who can guarantee she will be in the future?" Ethan countered.

This statement angered Quentin. He was blatantly challenging his patience.

"Do you think you can destroy her feelings for me? You're delusional," Quentin snapped.

"Lauren has been hurt by you repeatedly. Even if her heart is made of iron, it's already full of scars. Quentin, you better handle your own troubles well, or else Lauren might not be your wife at any time." After saying this, Ethan walked away briskly. Since Lauren wasn't there, he had no reason to stay.

Watching Ethan leave, Quentin balled his fist in anger.

"What a guy, Ethan." Quentin looked disdainfully into the distance, driving away from the residential area later.

Lauren returned home and sighed deeply. How did things get so bad? She felt powerless when it came to Ethan and Quentin.

She knew that everything Ethan did was for her own good. She couldn't say anything. She also knew that everything Quentin did today was to accommodate her, but she couldn't persuade him. If such things happened in the future… She got a headache just thinking about it.

It seemed like she had to find a way to ease the relationship between Quentin and Ethan. Regardless of whether she would be with Quentin in the future, she didn't want the two of them to argue because of her.

Quentin and Ethan had similarities in their personalities but also had stark differences. Both were strong-willed and formidable individuals. Quentin was domineering and aloof, while Ethan was warm and affectionate, so it was no wonder they didn't get along.

Looking out the window and seeing that Quentin and Ethan had already left, Lauren suddenly had an idea. 'The reason they're in such intense conflict is because of me and because they don't know each other well. If they could understand each other better, maybe they could become good friends,' she pondered this in her mind.

Regardless of the outcome, Lauren decided to give it a try. She regretted not going to the orphanage with them in a fit of anger. If they had gone together, wouldn't it have been a good opportunity for them to get to know each other?

At that moment, Quentin answered the phone.

"Are you at home?"

"Yes, what’s wrong?" Lauren asked in a hoarse voice.

Quentin remained silent for a moment before saying, "Something urgent came up at the company today. I'll accompany you tomorrow."

"It's okay if you're busy. It doesn't matter."

"I'll make time." After saying this, Quentin hung up the phone, leaving Lauren puzzled. Could it be that this guy wanted to make it up to her because of what happened today?

Lauren smiled happily. Since Quentin had given her this opportunity, she wouldn't waste it.
