Chapter 346 Malicious Destruction
Christmas Eve had finally arrived, and City A welcomed a long-awaited heavy snowfall.
Under the glow of the lights, the snowflakes sparkled, creating an incredibly romantic atmosphere.
The hotel lobby was decorated extravagantly, after all, today was the day Quentin, the president of Robinson Conglomerate, was holding a press conference.
This was also Quentin's first public appearance after those scandals.
It was rumored that Quentin had some important announcement to make today, so all the major newspapers were vying to get in. Unfortunately, there was an additional rule this time, only journalists invited by Quentin could enter.
Quentin didn't want to be influenced by those unscrupulous newspapers this time, so he only invited large, reputable, and absolutely honest media companies.
"Only success is allowed, no failure." This was the goal Quentin set for this press conference.
Walking on the red carpet into the hotel, one could see that the lobby was decorated with pink and white drapes.
There were also many flower arrangements, two champagne towers at the entrance, and a long table near the stairs filled with various pastries and fruits for the guests to enjoy.
"Quentin, you still got it." Noah, dressed in a white suit today, looked quite dashing. "It looks like you really prepared well."
"Of course." Quentin took a sip of the champagne in his hand and continued, "With so many media outlets present, the event can't be small."
"Where's Lauren?" Noah looked around but couldn't see Lauren anywhere.
"When the time is right, she'll appear." Quentin replied.
Before Noah could react, Quentin handed him the unfinished champagne and walked up to the stage alone.
The journalists quieted down instantly when they saw Quentin appear, taking out their cameras to take pictures.
Quentin said, "First of all, welcome everyone to this press conference. It's an honor for you to be here."
"I heard you're remarrying Miss Walker tomorrow, is that true?" Before Quentin could finish, an impatient journalist asked.
Quentin's face immediately darkened. Two security guards emerged from the crowd and dragged the unruly journalist out.
The other journalists, seeing this, were so scared that they forgot all the questions they had prepared.
They didn't dare to speak out of turn and waited for Quentin to finish speaking.
Otherwise, not only would they miss the news, but they might also get kicked out of the event.
"Yes, that's correct." Quentin was still visibly upset, "But I don't think you'll have the chance to take any photos."
Hearing Quentin personally confirm this, flashes went off from all directions as journalists began to record his words.
Seeing Quentin stop talking, a female journalist quickly seized the opportunity to ask. "Where is Miss Walker today?"
Quentin remained silent and slowly turned around.
Suddenly, all the lights in the venue went out, startling many unprepared journalists. "Is there a power outage?"
A spotlight shone at the end of the corridor.
As the light slowly moved into the hall, everyone saw a woman in a pink dress walking out. It was Lauren.
Lauren's long hair, specially curled at the ends, shone softly under the light, enhancing her graceful aura.
The pink evening gown made Lauren look both elegant and playfully cute.
Lauren was a bit nervous, as it was her first time attending such an event.
Seeing everyone pointing their cameras at her, she almost forgot how to breathe.
When Lauren reached the stairs, the lights suddenly came back on.
Lauren stood on the stairs, quietly smiling at Quentin, as if waiting for her prince to come and get her.
At that moment, another woman's voice suddenly rang out. "Quentin can only marry me in this lifetime."
This explosive news caused a stir among the crowd.
After all, such dramatic twists were always a favorite among entertainment journalists.
Lauren was surprised to see that the person was none other than Sophia, who had a falling out with Quentin at a coffee shop a few days ago.
"How did she get here?" Lauren wondered.
"Miss Hall, can you explain what you just said?" The journalists' attention shifted from Lauren to Sophia.
Seeing Lauren's embarrassed look, Sophia was very pleased.
One of her purposes for coming here today was achieved. As for the other, she would never allow Lauren to take Quentin away from her.
"Sophia, why are you here?" Noah rushed to Sophia's side, trying to take her away, but she shook him off.
"Leave? Why should I?" Sophia sneered.
"Shouldn't the one leaving be her?" Sophia pointed at the bewildered Lauren standing on the stairs.
Some journalists took the opportunity to rush to Lauren and asked, "According to Miss Hall, did you steal Mr. Robinson from her?"
"I..." Lauren felt helpless and on the verge of tears when someone suddenly shielded her.
"Quentin." Lauren looked up and saw him, tears immediately streaming down her face.
Seeing Lauren cry so pitifully, Quentin's anger surged.
He couldn't believe that despite his meticulous planning and thorough security measures, Sophia still managed to ruin everything.
But ultimately, Quentin couldn't be blamed. He never expected Sophia to have the audacity to show up here.
"Haven't you caused enough trouble?" Quentin said coldly.
With those words, the venue fell silent again. The journalists seemed to disappear, leaving only the four main characters questioning each other.
