Chapter 419 Undercover

"What did you just say?" Quentin's eyebrows furrowed deeply, and the glass in his hand was under unusual pressure.

He was livid.

Quentin felt his anger could almost incinerate Odette standing before him.

"So that's how it is." Quentin's teeth ground together audibly.

He had always thought Lauren had been brainwashed by Gregory, which was why she distanced herself from him. But the truth was far more sinister.

If Quentin showed Odette and Gregory any mercy, he wouldn't deserve to be Lauren's lover!

Neither of them would get away with this!

A fire of rage burned within Quentin, threatening to consume his sanity. He downed his drink in one gulp, exhaled deeply, and continued to question.

"What did Lauren say?"

"Lauren?" Odette blinked, her face showing disgust. Even drunk, she couldn't hide her disdain for Lauren.

"What could she say? Gregory already tricked her into thinking you used her. Of course, she could only cry in despair!"

Quentin was silent for a moment, seemingly wanting to ask more, but Odette had already fallen asleep.

'Lucky for her!' Quentin thought.

But even if Odette was asleep, he had ways to deal with her.

Quentin took out his phone, saved the recording he had just made, and immediately called Felix.

"Find Dr. Bell. On my wedding day, make sure Odette loses the baby."

Quentin left the bar, instructing the bartender to carry Odette out as well.

He was furious and would have loved to leave Odette to fend for herself in the bar, but that punishment was too light. He had a better plan to make her life a living hell.

"Dr. Bell? The one in the alley?" Felix asked uncertainly.

That doctor had once been involved with the mafia, known for his brutal methods.

After being hunted, he fled to the alley and opened an illegal clinic under a new name.

"Yeah," Quentin replied.

He knew Dr. Bell's methods well. The man could operate on screaming patients without flinching, especially those without anesthesia.

Quentin wanted Odette to suffer such a fate.

Felix agreed and hung up.

Quentin arranged for Odette to be dumped in a hotel and returned to the Robinson Estate, where Jessica's portrait was displayed.

In the Robinson Family Villa, Lauren lay in bed, her brow furrowed as if in a nightmare.

"Quentin!"

She screamed, waking up to darkness, her hands grasping at nothing.

Lauren bit her lower lip.

She had just dreamt of running in the dark, chasing a beam of light, only to find herself at the edge of a cliff. She was relieved to stop, but someone pushed her off the cliff from behind.

That person was Quentin.

Lauren's stomach growled, pulling her from the memory of the dream.

Since Quentin left, she hadn't eaten. It wasn't that she was punishing herself, but the way the maids looked at her made her lose her appetite.

She locked herself in her room, letting no one in, but she forgot the door could be locked from the outside.

"Miss Walker, are you awake?" someone asked softly at the door.

Lauren recognized the voice. It belonged to the only kind maid in the villa, a girl with cute freckles.

"No," Lauren replied, turning on the bedside lamp.

"You haven't eaten all day. I made some snacks. Would you like to try?" The freckled maid pushed a cart into the room.

The cart held several tempting pastries. Lauren hesitated but shook her head, saying softly.

"No, thank you."

"It's no trouble. Mr. Robinson instructed us to take good care of you," the maid said with a smile. "So please, have a little."

Lauren frowned. Could Quentin care for her? She didn't believe it.

"He told you to take care of the future Mrs. Robinson, right?" Lauren laughed bitterly. "You've got the wrong person. The future Mrs. Robinson is Odette."

The maid wanted to say more, but Lauren turned off the light, saying.

"I'm tired. I need to sleep."

The maid sighed and pushed the cart out.

She closed the door, her face now showing a sinister smile.

She was Gregory's plant in the Robinson Family Villa, there to monitor Quentin and Lauren's every move and help Odette eliminate Lauren if necessary.

She looked disappointedly at the food on the cart and sighed.

She had gone to great lengths to poison those pastries. What a waste.

When Odette woke up in the hotel, Quentin was beside her.

She instinctively lifted the blanket to check and was disappointed to find her clothes still on.

"Get up and freshen up. Felix will pick us up soon," Quentin said, closing his laptop.

His tone was gentle, or at least he thought it was.

"Quentin, last night...?" Odette asked uneasily.

She worried she might have said something incriminating while drunk.

"Last night, you passed out on the table. Why, worried you said something you shouldn't have?"

Quentin's gaze was sharp, piercing through Odette's thoughts.

Odette's heart skipped a beat. She wanted to explain, but Quentin spoke first.

"Just kidding."

Odette blinked, finally understanding and relaxing.

But Quentin's earlier demeanor didn't seem like a joke at all.

Quentin had noted Odette's reaction, already forming a plan.

He had recorded everything from the previous night, not to take Odette to court, but to have evidence when explaining things to Lauren later.

"By the way, Felix got movie tickets for tonight," Quentin said.

Odette's face lit up, all doubts forgotten.

If she had said something she shouldn't have, Quentin wouldn't suggest going to the movies!

The cinema was a perfect place to build a relationship!

In the dark, who knew, she might get closer to Quentin, and if she got pregnant, she wouldn't have to worry about competing with Lauren.

Odette was convinced she held a higher place in Quentin's heart than Lauren. The only reason Lauren succeeded was because of Matthew.
