Chapter 438 Wedding Moved Up
Seeing Odette still hesitant, Quentin gently removed his hand from her shoulder and said, "Matthew's my son. You're about to be my wife, so you gotta accept him. Plus, Matthew's a good kid. He'll warm up to you as her new mom."
Odette's face lit up with a smile at Quentin's words.
She thought to herself, 'If I turn Quentin down now, he'll be disappointed. I need to make a good impression. As for the child Lauren had, I'll tolerate it for now. Once I have my kid after the wedding, I'll handle it quietly, and Quentin won't be able to do anything about it.'
Odette was sure Quentin would love her child. Leaning into Quentin's embrace, she said softly, "Alright, I want to accept Matthew, too, but it seems like Matthew has a big prejudice against me. But don't worry, I'll be good to Matthew."
Odette had lied countless times before, and Quentin wasn't about to believe her now.
"There's one more thing," Quentin said, his deep eyes unreadable.
"Go ahead, Quentin. Whatever you ask, I'll agree to it," Odette said eagerly, ready to comply with anything Quentin said.
"You need to have Gregory bring Matthew to the wedding."
Odette hesitated but gritted her teeth and agreed.
"I will, Quentin. Don't worry," Odette said in a fawning tone, wrapping one arm around Quentin's back and the other around his neck. She stood on tiptoe and whispered in his ear, "So, Quentin, tonight..."
"Tonight, you should rest well. I'm tired. Felix will take you home," Quentin said, pushing Odette away.
Odette wanted to say more, but remembering how long Quentin had spent taking wedding photos with her today, she figured he must be genuinely exhausted.
Thinking about the wedding the day after tomorrow, when she would officially become Quentin's wife, she felt reassured and left obediently with Felix.
Quentin watched Felix escort Odette away, then glanced in the direction of Lauren's room.
Seeing that Lauren's light was already off, he assumed she was resting and felt relieved.
"Don't worry, it's almost over. Matthew will be back with you soon," Quentin murmured, looking longingly at Lauren's room before reluctantly going to rest.
The next morning, Gregory received the news that the wedding had been moved up and immediately sought out Odette.
Odette was in a great mood today, feeling smug about the wedding being moved up.
When she saw Gregory's call, a hint of displeasure crossed her face. Remembering Quentin's request from the previous day, she felt a bit troubled.
"Are you calling to ruin my good mood?" Odette answered Gregory's call despite her annoyance.
"Where are you?" Gregory asked urgently. "What's going on? Why was the wedding moved up?"
Odette boasted proudly, "Quentin said he wanted me to become his bride sooner, so he moved up the wedding. Got a problem with that?"
Gregory couldn't believe Quentin would suddenly fall for Odette. Knowing Quentin's character, it seemed impossible for him to suddenly like someone. He feared it was a trap set by Quentin.
"Aren't you worried Quentin's playing you?" Gregory asked skeptically.
Odette let out a cold laugh and said nonchalantly, "Quentin would never deceive me. I know who truly cares for me. Besides, that kind of affection can't be faked. Don't make a big deal out of it. Not everyone is like you."
Gregory was furious, seeing Odette acting like a fool.
"I'm telling you, Quentin would never deceive me. Don't use your dirty mind to judge Quentin!" Odette said aggressively.
"And you need to bring Matthew to the wedding," she added.
"What?" Gregory stood up abruptly, glaring at Odette. "Are you out of your mind? There's no way I'm bringing Matthew to the wedding!"
"You better think carefully about what you're saying," Odette said coldly, the atmosphere instantly freezing.
"How scared of Quentin are you to be this cautious? Quentin genuinely likes me. Our wedding is important to him, not like your dirty thoughts. Don't project your filth onto others," Odette said disdainfully, while Gregory's expression darkened.
"I said it's not happening!" Gregory said, turning to leave without giving Odette a chance to respond.
Odette couldn't let Gregory leave. She had promised Quentin, and if anything went wrong and Quentin got upset, the wedding might be postponed again.
This had happened before when the wedding photos were delayed by three days. Odette didn't want any more surprises.
"You have to bring him, or face the consequences!" Odette threatened, leaving Gregory speechless and glaring at her.
"Have you thought about the consequences?" Gregory warned.
"Once I'm Quentin's wife, what consequences could there be?" Odette said smugly, looking confident.
After a long argument, Gregory finally relented, agreeing to bring Matthew to the wedding to avoid ruining his plans.
Odette nodded in satisfaction, but as she was about to leave, Gregory stopped her.
"It's not that simple. If you believe Quentin likes you, have him bring Lauren to the wedding. Let her see Quentin choose you. Wouldn't that be satisfying?" Gregory suggested.
Odette's eyes lit up, thinking Gregory's idea was brilliant. She quickly agreed.
Meanwhile, Quentin was at the office, planning the actions for the wedding day. His phone lit up on the desk, and he eagerly picked it up.
It was information about Kimberly's location, in a remote area of City A, far from the city center and near the mountains. The area was sparsely populated with poor signal and communication.
'Looks like I underestimated Gregory. No wonder we couldn't find them,' Quentin thought.
