Chapter 435 A Fierce Fight

"Get her outta here."

Quentin's voice was cold, completely emotionless.

He didn't even glance at Odette's shocked face before walking away. Odette, drenched in cold sweat, was relieved that Violette hadn't spilled the beans.

She quickly caught up to Quentin, trying to act innocent. "Quentin, it's all my fault. I just wanted to share my happiness the other day, but I didn't expect them to get so spoiled."

Quentin stayed silent, his face stern. He was worried about Lauren and had no clue how she was doing.

"Quentin, are you listening to me? Are you okay?" Odette asked nervously, afraid Quentin might suspect something.

"It's nothing. These servants have gone too far, messing with your good mood. It's unacceptable," Quentin said, trying to keep his anger in check and sounding calm.

This reassured Odette.

Theodosia helped Lauren back to her room and quickly checked her wounds. Thankfully, they weren't too serious.

Theodosia sighed in relief, pulled out a first aid kit from somewhere, and started treating Lauren's injuries.

"It's okay now, don't worry," Lauren said gently, her voice soft and apologetic. "I'm sorry you got dragged into this and were ostracized because of me."

"It's not your fault. I just don't fit in. I should be thanking you," Theodosia replied politely.

Quentin and Odette's wedding photoshoot didn't go well. Despite spending the entire afternoon on it, the results left Odette dissatisfied, though she didn't dare to voice her frustration.

This unexpected incident had caught Odette off guard. She cautiously approached Quentin and asked softly, "Quentin, are you upset because of what happened?"

Quentin was taken aback, realizing his actions might raise suspicions.

He quickly shook his head and forced a smile. "Don't worry, I'm not angry."

Relieved, Odette leaned into Quentin's embrace, holding him tightly.

Unfortunately, Lauren, who had just come downstairs, witnessed this scene.

The sight felt like a knife twisting in her heart, the pain in her neck adding to her torment.

Lauren suddenly felt pathetic. She descended the stairs with a blank expression, determined not to endure Odette's provocations any longer.

If Odette kept pushing her limits, Lauren would fight back.

Odette was startled by Lauren's sudden appearance.

Lauren's eyes were filled with determination, sending a shiver down Odette's spine.

"What are you doing down here?" Odette stammered, her voice faltering.

"Isn't this what you wanted, Ms. Foster?" Lauren replied coldly, walking up to Odette with a sharp, warning look.

But Odette wasn't afraid of Lauren.

Confident that Quentin was on her side, she mockingly said, "I thought you were mad."

As she spoke, she leaned into Quentin's arms and whispered, "Quentin, I'm kinda hungry."

"Have the servants make dinner," Quentin said flatly, his eyes involuntarily drifting towards Lauren.

Lauren, realizing it was already evening, felt a pang of hunger.

She walked to the dining table, pulled out a chair, and sat down, her face expressionless.

Odette was surprised by Lauren's reaction, expecting her to storm off instead of calmly accepting the situation. But this suited Odette just fine.

Seeing Quentin's silence, Odette assumed he was on her side. She clung to Quentin, saying, "I'll go change. Wait for me."

Quentin nodded, eager for Odette to leave.

Lauren sat alone at the table, forcing herself not to look at Quentin and Odette's affectionate gestures.

Odette returned first, now dressed casually, looking demure but only on the surface.

Seeing Lauren alone at the table, Odette smugly approached her. "How do you feel today? Happy?"

Lauren knew exactly what Odette was referring to. She calmly but firmly said, "Odette, you'd better not push my limits."

"And what if I do?" Odette retorted arrogantly. "Seeing you like this makes me so happy."

"You've finally shown your true colors," Lauren said coldly, eyeing Odette.

The once demure Odette now seemed arrogant and overbearing.

But Odette quickly switched to a demure act, running to Quentin's side and holding his hand, sitting across from Lauren.

She deliberately displayed affection with Quentin in front of Lauren.

'Lauren, you can't let her win,' Lauren thought, clenching her fists and trying to appear composed.

"Enough," Quentin said, annoyed by Odette's constant touching. He already disliked physical contact with her and now found it unbearable.

He glanced at Lauren, who was silently looking down, feeling a pang of guilt.

Thankfully, dinner was served, breaking the awkward tension.

Lauren focused on eating, ignoring Odette's smug expression and wicked smile.

"Let's eat," Quentin said, pulling his arm away from Odette and keeping his distance, which disappointed her. She shrugged.

Lauren took a few bites but felt something was off.

The soup seemed to have something strange in it. She fished it out with her spoon and saw it was dog food.

Shocked, Lauren looked at the dog food in her bowl, then at Odette's gloating face.

Odette feigned surprise. "How did dog food get in your bowl?"

Furious, Lauren glared at Odette, unable to contain her anger. She flipped her bowl over and said coldly, "Odette, that's enough!"
