Chapter 439 Imminent

Quentin clenched his fists and gritted his teeth, quickly calling Felix over.

"Get in touch with the cops and tell them I've found where the hostages are."

"On it."

Felix nodded.

Felix was efficient.

It wasn't long before the police sent officers to talk to Quentin.

"Sir."

Quentin stayed stone-faced, making the two officers a bit hesitant and nervous.

"Mr. Robinson, we're here to go over the rescue plan with you."

Quentin nodded, signaling Felix to stand guard outside. He went over the wedding schedule with the officers and discussed the plan late into the night before they finally left.

Quentin breathed a sigh of relief. This time, he could rescue Matthew and Kimberly and no longer be under Gregory and Odette's thumb.

Meanwhile, Lauren got the news.

Early in the morning, she heard the servants talking about it everywhere, and the house was buzzing with excitement.

But Lauren couldn't feel any happiness. Her mind was consumed with worry for Matthew and Kimberly.

It was ironic. It seemed like Lauren was the only one feeling sad and upset, while everyone else was caught up in the joy.

Odette wanted to share the news with Lauren. She wore a bright red dress and came to the villa, immediately handing out gifts to the servants.

"Everyone's been working hard these past few days. Since the wedding got moved up, some of you have been extra busy. Thank you for your dedication. This is a small token of appreciation."

Odette spoke in a seemingly gentle voice, her smile glaringly bright.

Lauren, upstairs, listened to the bustling noise below without lifting her head.

Only Theodosia was by Lauren's side.

"Theodosia, isn't it funny how unpredictable life is? It hasn't been long, but everything's changed."

Lauren sighed, the light in her eyes gone, making Theodosia's heart ache.

Several times, Theodosia wanted to tell Lauren that she was sent by Quentin. But remembering Quentin's warning, Theodosia didn't dare to speak up. She could only silently stand by Lauren's side, comforting her.

"She's not happy either. Quentin hasn't treated her well. He was cold-faced all day yesterday. Who doesn't smile in their wedding photos?"

Theodosia seemed to be hinting at Lauren, but Lauren, lost in her sadness, didn't react. She sneered, "He's like that with everyone."

"Isn't that Lauren? Why are you staying upstairs?"

Odette deliberately spoke loudly, her red dress striking like a knife to Lauren's heart.

The Quentin who once held her hand was about to become Odette's groom, and it had nothing to do with her.

Lauren turned away, not wanting any interaction with Odette.

Theodosia watched Odette warily, standing protectively in front of Lauren.

"Still a loyal servant, huh? Here, these are gifts. I prepared two sets."

Odette tossed two fancy gift boxes to Theodosia.

"Oh, and didn't Quentin tell you? Don't forget to come to the wedding."

"What did you say?"

Lauren looked at Odette in surprise, not expecting Quentin to want her at his wedding.

Was this some kind of show-off?

"Your business has nothing to do with me," Lauren snapped.

"That's not for you to decide."

Odette slowly walked over to Lauren, mocking her. "Do you think you have the right to decide? You're a prisoner now. Prisoners don't get to object."

"Quentin is waiting for me to have dinner. I came today to hand out gifts and won't bother you anymore. After all, Quentin is waiting for me."

Odette said smugly, flaunting Quentin's supposed affection for her.

In reality, Odette hadn't told Quentin, but she believed he would agree to her request. She hurriedly left the villa, eager to share her excitement with Quentin.

At that moment, Quentin had no patience for Odette. Having dinner with her was just to keep her stable and make Gregory less suspicious, ensuring the plan went smoothly.

After repeatedly confirming the plan with the police, Quentin finally closed his phone. Looking up, he saw Odette running towards him. He quickly stood up, inadvertently avoiding Odette's hug, and handed her the menu.

"Order," he said coldly, not saying another word.

Odette, used to it, didn't mind. She casually ordered and closed the menu.

Odette came to discuss bringing Lauren to the wedding. She suddenly sat next to Quentin, holding his hand, and softly asked, "Quentin, do you love me?"

Quentin frowned, puzzled by Odette's question.

"Do you love me? Answer me, please?"

Odette pouted, leaning closer to Quentin.

Quentin impatiently moved away and nodded, suppressing his anger, "Of course I do!"

"Then can you bring Lauren to the wedding?"

Quentin's brow furrowed. "What do you mean?"

"When people get married, they invite their exes, and they attend. Naturally, Laurenn should be there. You can prove your love for me in front of everyone, and I'll feel happy."

"And I've already agreed to bring Matthew to the wedding. Quentin, shouldn't you agree to something for me, too?"

Seeing Quentin's reluctance, Odette quickly added.

Quentin didn't want Lauren to misunderstand. If she attended, the misunderstanding would only deepen.

"Quentin, please agree. I want to show everyone your love for me, okay?"

Odette clung to Quentin, leaning into his arms, her strong perfume making Quentin even more disgusted.

To rescue Matthew and Kimberly, Quentin endured.

Impatiently pushing Odette away, he nodded, lowering his voice to keep it calm, "Since you asked, I must fulfill it."

Odette nodded and sweetly said, "I knew you were the best."

Thinking of Lauren watching her and Quentin become a couple, Odette couldn't hide her joy.
