Chapter 447 Reunion
"You jerk, you and your mom are both jerks."
Odette spat out, showing her true colors.
Seeing Matthew getting bullied, Lauren jumped up and slapped Odette across the face.
The scene turned chaotic, with guests either leaving or staying to watch the drama unfold. The wedding was a complete mess.
Meanwhile, Kimberly's rescue operation went smoothly. She had been safely extracted, and the police quickly signaled Quentin.
Upon receiving the signal, Quentin's face lit up with relief.
With Kimberly and Matthew both safe, Quentin had no more worries.
He grabbed a nearby microphone, tapped it, and the feedback screeched through the room.
Everyone fell silent, even the guests who were about to leave stopped and looked at Quentin.
Quentin spoke calmly, "First, I want to thank everyone for coming to my wedding. But things aren't what they seem. Lauren and I never got divorced."
The crowd erupted in shock.
Even Odette was stunned, stammering, "Quentin, what are you saying? Didn't you say you didn't love Lauren anymore?"
Odette mumbled in disbelief.
Quentin didn't even glance at her and continued, "This wedding isn't legal, and it wasn't my choice."
"What are you talking about, Quentin?" Odette said, panic rising in her voice.
Still not grasping the reality, Odette clung to Quentin, staring at him, "Today is our wedding. Did Lauren say something to you?"
Quentin shook her off, his voice cold, "I never wanted to marry you. Every day with you has been unbearable. Do you think I don't know about your schemes?"
Odette's face turned pale, shaking her head in terror, "No, that's impossible."
Quentin's icy stare made Odette lose all hope.
He pushed her off the stage, saying coldly, "No one messes with Matthew."
Matthew grinned widely.
Lauren stood there, stunned.
Just a moment ago, Quentin had rejected her, and now he was announcing they were still married. She was utterly confused.
Gregory, sensing something was off, quickly ordered his men to lock down the yacht.
Quentin noticed Gregory in the corner.
Realizing he was exposed, Gregory stepped out, feigning nonchalance, "Don't think saving Matthew solves everything. Kimberly is still in my hands."
Quentin scoffed, pulling out the message he had received, "You underestimate me. This wedding was a setup to rescue Matthew and Kimberly. You can't threaten me anymore."
Lauren was in shock.
She hadn't realized Quentin had orchestrated everything to save Kimberly and Matthew.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at Quentin, overwhelmed with emotion.
Quentin had always loved her.
Lauren cried tears of joy, her emotions overflowing.
"You think this is over?" Gregory laughed maniacally, a sinister smile on his face.
"I should have seen this coming, but I have a backup plan. Matthew has a bomb on him. We can all go down together."
The mention of a bomb sent the guests into a frenzy, scrambling for the lifeboats, leaving the area in chaos.
Lauren held Matthew close, comforting him, "Matthew, don't be scared. Your dad and I are here. We'll stay with you."
Matthew nodded bravely, "It's okay, Mom. I'm not scared. As long as we're together, there's nothing to fear."
Lauren smiled, stroking Matthew's forehead, holding him tightly, "I'll always be with you, no matter what."
"And me too," Quentin said softly, full of affection.
Lauren looked at Quentin, tears streaming down her face.
She stood up, trying to hold back her tears, but the flood of emotions was too much. She cried out, "Why didn't you tell me?"
Quentin gently wiped her tears. "It's all over now."
Gregory, seeing the family reunited, grew more agitated.
Quentin shielded Lauren and Matthew, "It's not too late to surrender. There are police on this yacht. Don't corner yourself."
"I don't need an escape," Gregory laughed maniacally.
"The worst outcome is that we all die together. But you have more to lose—your wife and son will die with me."
Gregory laughed, "I still win."
He wasn't being truthful. Gregory had an escape plan.
Quentin, furious, realized he had no leverage.
Worried about Matthew, Quentin proposed negotiations.
Seeing Quentin back down, Gregory felt triumphant, "If you want me to release Matthew, you must ensure the police drop all charges against me."
Lauren seethed, "Gregory, you're a madman, a complete lunatic."
"I've been driven mad by you all," Gregory retorted coldly.
"You have two choices: we all die together, or you let me go, and I release Matthew. You have one minute to decide."
