Chapter 91 Tailor-Made
The meeting proceeded smoothly, and afterward, everyone was very pleased with Lauren's performance. Lauren relaxed a bit, hoping that the filming process would go just as smoothly in the future.
Originally, they had planned to have a meal together after the meeting, but as soon as it ended, Quentin pulled Lauren away.
"Where are you two going? Aren't we having dinner?" Noah shouted at the departing Quentin.
"She has other work to do," Quentin explained perfunctorily, not even turning his head as he led Lauren away.
Once in the car, Lauren asked in confusion, "I have other work? What work?"
"You'll know when we get there." Quentin's cold expression made Lauren even more puzzled. Had she done something wrong again?
The car sped along the road, and after a long while, it finally came to a stop. Lauren looked up and saw the Robinson Conglomerate High-End Gown Customization Center.
"Quentin, what are we doing here?" Lauren asked, puzzled.
"Getting you a work outfit," Quentin said as he unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car.
Lauren was even more confused. Why did she need a work outfit if she wasn't going to work? And most importantly, they wouldn't find a work outfit here.
As they walked into the lavishly decorated room, a beautiful attendant greeted them.
"Mr. Robinson, hello. How may I assist you?"
Quentin pointed to Lauren and said, “Call the designer. Have her tailor a gown for her. Make sure the waist isn't too tight, and use the best fabric. She's pregnant.”
Lauren blushed. Quentin's thoughtful consideration moved her deeply.
“Mr. Robinson, do I really need a work outfit? Isn't it a bit inappropriate to use a gown as a work outfit?” Lauren asked.
“In three days, you have to shoot an advertisement. Do you plan to wear sportswear for it?” Quentin said coldly.
Lauren secretly rolled her eyes at him. “Isn't the outfit for the product advertisement already made?”
“That outfit was made to fit someone else's body. It might not fit you. Besides, since I'm putting in the effort to shoot the product advertisement, one more gown won't make a difference,” Quentin said loudly. The most important thing was that this was an opportunity to introduce Lauren to everyone, and he had to take it seriously.
“Alright,” faced with Quentin's seriousness, Lauren could only comply obediently.
At that moment, the attendant returned. “Mr. Robinson, the designer, would like to speak with you. Is that alright?”
Quentin had intended to do so, and he and Lauren went to meet the gown designer, Olive.
“Mr. Robinson, long time no see. It's rare to see you here in person. I guessed that the person who could bring Mr. Robinson here must be a beautiful lady, and I was right,” Olive said with a smile.
“Is that so? If you've gained the ability to foresee the future, I shouldn't let you continue as a designer.” Quentin raised an eyebrow.
As they spoke, Lauren observed Olive. Olive wore a deep V-neck suit that accentuated her graceful figure, looking both mature and capable. Her sweet smile gave off an inexplicable sense of goodwill.
Olive smiled at Lauren, sensing that Lauren was observing her. “Who is this girl? It seems you're very interested in me,” Olive teased.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Lauren introduced herself, “I'm Lauren. Nice to meet you.”
Quentin walked over, put his arm around Lauren's shoulder, and said, “My wife, Lauren.”
Olive was shocked. She never expected Quentin to be in such a situation. She had known Quentin for so many years and had never seen him be so proactive with a woman.
“So, you are Lauren. I finally get to see you in person today!” Olive said excitedly.
Lauren was helpless. In person? Did that mean she was 'dead' before? She retracted her earlier evaluation of Olive as mature and steady. At this moment, Olive hasn't shown any of those traits.
Olive walked over with a smile and said, “Mrs. Robinson, please don't mind me. This is just my personality. I've known Quentin since college, so I count him as an old friend of his. By the way, this gown customization center is also a part of the Robinson Conglomerate, so you don't need to feel restrained. In a way, I am also your employee!”
Lauren smiled awkwardly. Olive really had a good temperament.
“Alright, let me introduce myself properly. Hello, Mrs. Robinson, I'm Olive. Nice to meet you,” Olive said, extending her hand in a friendly manner.
Lauren also extended her hand, shook Olive's, and said with a smile, “Hello, just call me Lauren.”
“So, what brings you here? Are you here for wedding gowns? No, wait, I remember you two are already married. Could it be that you are…” Olive speculated, which made Lauren laugh.
“Enough with the wild guesses,” Quentin couldn't help but interrupt Olive. “I'm here to have you tailor a gown for her. Your taste is decent, and your designs are passable.”
“I'll take that as a compliment,” Olive said, looking disdainfully at Quentin. What did he mean by 'passable'? Her designs had won gold awards in international brands, yet in Quentin's mouth, they were just passable.
But Olive wasn't angry; she understood Quentin's stubborn nature.
Olive looked at Lauren. Her figure was well-proportioned, her skin fair, and her features delicate—a classic beauty. No wonder she could tame the wild horse that was Quentin.
“Lauren has a great figure. I have a few gowns already made. Would you like to try them?” Olive raised an eyebrow at Lauren.
Lauren nodded. She had no specific requirements. As long as Quentin was satisfied, she was fine.
Olive looked at Quentin, who directly refused, “No, I want you to tailor a new gown for her. It must be unique and perfect.”
“Quentin, all my designs are unique and perfect. How do you know they're not good if you don't look?” Olive was exasperated.
Quentin stared coldly at Olive until she relented.
“Alright, you're the boss. I'll do as you say. Lauren, come with me, and I'll take your measurements to design a gown as soon as possible.”
Lauren looked apologetically at Olive. “I'm sorry for the trouble.”
Olive shook her head, not minding at all. As long as a customer had a request, she would fulfill it.
After taking Lauren's measurements, Olive imagined thousands of designs in her mind. She was determined to create a gown that would satisfy Quentin. Just wait and see!
