Chapter 72 Stealing Wives and Children

Quentin never appeared in front of Laura in the end because he felt his presence would disrupt her peaceful life, believing it wasn't the best time to show up.

His visit to Laura at this moment would have exposed his act of tracking her.

Since the man Noah mentioned didn't show up around Laura, Quentin felt relieved. Perhaps, as Noah suggested, that day was just a misunderstanding.

So, he left with peace. He decided to think carefully and choose the best time to see her again.

Over the next two days, Laura continued to search for a house. After Ethan finished his tasks at home, he came to see Laura again.

"Laura, we haven't seen each other for only three days. Why do you look worse? Are you feeling unwell?" Ethan was surprised and worried when he saw Laura, asking with concern.

Laura touched her face and didn't feel anything different. She reassured Ethan, "I'm fine, maybe I'm just not used to living in hotels."

Feeling ashamed, Ethan said, "Laura, I'm really sorry it took me so long to handle things. But I've already asked a friend to find a suitable place for you, so don't worry."

Laura embarrassed, "Thank you so much, Ethan. But you don't have to bother. I've found a place these past two days. I'll move there tomorrow."

Ethan was not pleased. "Laura, why don't you listen to me? Didn't you promise to give me time to find a place for you? In the end, I didn't help you with anything. You've been pregnant for over four months, working so hard. Are you deliberately making me feel guilty?"

"Don't be angry. I admit it was my own boredom that led me to this. I would just go out for a walk and check out some houses while I was at it. If I need anything in the future, I'll definitely ask for your help first. Is that okay?"

Ethan softened at Laura's apologetic look. He couldn't do much with her, not in the past, not now.

Seeing her exhausted, Ethan said, "Laura, you really don't look well. Mornings should be when you're most energetic, but you seem tired. If you truly consider me as a friend, listen to my advice. Let's go to the hospital together for a check-up, just to be sure!"

Laura was touched by Ethan's words. He was caring and thoughtful, always putting others first.

Laura admitted that since she left the divorce agreement and moved out of The Robinson Family, her mood had been terrible and her health had been deteriorating day by day because she couldn't eat due to sadness.

"Alright." Laura agreed readily. She regretted skipping the prenatal check-up last time when Wendy showed up unexpectedly, feeling remorseful.

Her baby being the most important thing, she shouldn't be stubborn or neglect herself.

Ethan smiled warmly. As long as Laura cooperated, everything would be fine.

So, Ethan drove Laura to the hospital for a check-up.

When they met the obstetrician, Laura explained her recent physical condition. After a thorough examination, the doctor reassured her that the baby was fine, which put Laura at ease.

Ethan, the Young Master of the White family, was impressive and charming, a husband that women dreamt of. With his experience studying abroad, he quickly became a prominent figure in City A upon his return.

Ethan's appearance at the obstetrics department naturally drew attention. People gossiped about this handsome man, speculating about what kind of person his wife might be.

As Laura walked out of the obstetrics department, the curious crowd was surprised and somewhat envious when they saw Ethan's wife was Laura. They cast complex looks at Laura, leaving her momentarily confused.

"How was it? Is the baby okay?" Ethan's concern was solely on Laura as he inquired about her condition.

Laura smiled and shook her head gently, "Everything's fine, he's healthy. I just need to adjust my daily routine in the future. You were right that I've been careless. I need to change."

Ethan looked at Laura affectionately, as if she could melt in his arms at any moment.

"Alright, I'll keep an eye on you."

"You're too strict, I'm afraid I won't be able to handle it." Laura said ruefully.

Ethan patted Laura's head gently, wondering why she just couldn't seem to learn to behave.

The two of them left the hospital joking and laughing, caught by Noah who had come to visit a friend at the hospital.

"No way! Is Laura really in trouble? That man must be the one Quentin mentioned to me last time! I have to inform Quentin immediately."

Noah, shocked, hurriedly called Quentin. As Quentin picked up the phone, Noah exclaimed impatiently, "Quentin, your wife has really been taken away!"

Noah's voice was so loud it almost burst Quentin's eardrums. But at that moment, Quentin was more concerned about the content of Noah's words.

"What do you mean?"

Noah quickly told Quentin about what he saw, "I just saw a good-looking guy warmly hugging Lauren as they came out of the hospital. Man, this guy seems like he's trying to steal your wife and become the father of your child!"

Noah quickly recounted what he saw to Quentin, exaggerating the details to grab Quentin's attention.

Usually, Quentin wouldn't fall for Noah's tricks, but this time, he actually believed him.

‘Damn it! This Lauren, she's so audacious to do this while he's away these couple of days! Has she forgotten they're not divorced yet? No, he must bring her back!’ Quenstin thought.

Before Quentin could respond to Noah, he hung up and rushed to Laura's hotel. After waiting for a while at the hotel entrance, Laura and Ethan returned together.

Laura politely thanked Ethan, "Thank you so much, having a car is so convenient. I don't like squeezing onto public transport for prenatal check-ups..."

"It's no big deal, you don't have to be so polite. As long as you and the baby are fine, I'm happy." Ethan replied with a smile.

Quentin, watching Laura and Ethan chatting and laughing, felt angry and decided not to approach them.

Trying to steal his woman? Want to be the father of his child? He had to agree to that first!

"Good job, Laura, finding a new man for yourself so quickly? You want a divorce, but I won't allow it! Just wait, I'll make you willingly come back to me." Quentin vowing silently, his gaze fixed on the two figures in the distance.
