Chapter 360 Design Blueprints

As Lauren expected, when she arrived at the office the next day, everyone looked at her with a mix of emotions.

"Ms. Walker is really pitiful."

"I think Odette is pretty good too."

Lauren coughed a few times, and the chatter immediately stopped.

Odette walked over with a cup of coffee, handing it to Lauren with both hands. "Coffee, with milk but no sugar."

It seemed Odette had done her homework; she even knew Lauren's taste perfectly.

Lauren said, "Thank you."

Lauren never liked arguing with people. Since Odette hadn't said anything, she saw no need to speak up.

"Ms. Walker," Odette called out to Lauren.

She didn't call her Lauren anymore, indicating that Odette had taken Lauren's words to heart.

Lauren asked, "Is there something you need?"

"Please take care of me in the future." Odette bowed to Lauren, her face still showing that sweet and innocent smile.

In the future? Was Odette referring to work or Quentin?

'Whichever it is, I won't lose to her,' Lauren thought to herself.

Nodding, Lauren raised her coffee and returned to her office.

Just as she sat down, her phone screen lit up.

It was a text from Quentin. [Do you remember what we talked about before the wedding? Although it's been a long time, the art promo photos still haven't been taken.]

So he still remembered.

[It seems unnecessary now,] Lauren replied.

Quentin texted: [That's true.]

Lauren was just about to praise him for finally getting it, but then he reverted to his old self.

Quentin added: [In that case, finish the brand logo as soon as possible, preferably within a week.]

Quentin was always focused on work.

Though Lauren said this, seeing Quentin's message, she immediately opened her computer.

After all, Lauren could be considered a workaholic herself, never slacking off in her career.

A week seemed a bit too long. Lauren felt Quentin underestimated her, so she decided to quickly draft a sample to show him.

Though it looked simple, it was still elegant.

Liking simple designs had always been Lauren's style.

When Lauren took the draft to Quentin's office, she found Odette there too.

"Why is she here again?" Lauren felt a bit anxious.

"Ms. Walker, don't misunderstand. I'm here to ask Quentin about work." Odette said.

Lauren smiled lightly, as if she was really afraid she wouldn't misunderstand. "First, I'm your direct supervisor. Going over my head to ask Mr. Robinson directly makes it seem like you don't respect me. Second, this is the office. No matter how good your relationship with Mr. Robinson is privately, calling him Quentin here is inappropriate, don't you think?"

Hearing Lauren's reasonable and well-founded criticism, Odette was left speechless. "I understand."

Odette hadn't expected Lauren to be so articulate. This time, she had been careless and could only choose to back down.

"Why are you here?" Quentin asked.

Quentin's question reminded Lauren of her purpose for coming.

Lauren handed the draft to Quentin. "This is the sample logo I designed. Take a look."

"It's your style." Quentin casually handed the draft to Odette. "Since you're here, help give some feedback."

Lauren was unhappy with Quentin's action because it was Odette, and she felt a bit uncertain.

Odette hesitated for a long time before saying, "I'm not sure if I should say this."

"It's okay, it's just us here." Quentin said.

Seeing Quentin backing her up, Odette prepared to speak freely. "I don't think this can be called a designed draft."

This statement was like a loud slap, hitting Lauren's face hard and accurately.

What she had drawn was nothing in Odette's eyes.

Odette added, "First, I don't see any design sense in it. Second, the style is too plain and simple, lacking highlights, making it hard for the public to remember."

Odette mimicked Lauren's earlier manner, pointing out the flaws in Lauren's draft.

'Is she getting back at me?' The thought popped into Lauren's mind.

"I'm not intentionally finding fault with Ms. Walker; I genuinely feel this way," Odette added.

"It's okay." Lauren had seen such situations before; she could ignore others' mockery.

"Do you have any ideas?" Lauren threw the question back to Odette.

Odette replied, "I think we can slightly alter the product's sketch image, making the letters more artistic. This way, it's both beautiful and the theme is very clear."

Quentin nodded thoughtfully.

Seeing Quentin's expression, Lauren knew he was quite satisfied with Odette's idea.

This time, she had lost to Odette.

Thinking of this, Lauren felt a sense of loss.

"Didn't expect you've improved a lot," Quentin praised Odette. "Your time at Weitela wasn't wasted."

"Not really," Odette said modestly. "I was inspired by Ms. Walker's idea and made a slight change based on it."

Lauren knew Odette was trying to comfort her, but wasn't it Odette who put her in this awkward position?

Lauren just smiled and didn't say anything.

Understanding Lauren's intention, Odette didn't push further and shifted her attention back to Quentin. "So, how are you going to thank me for this favor?"

"Next week's company retreat, you pick the place," Quentin said after glancing at the calendar.

"It doesn't seem like a thank you; it feels like you're giving me another task." Odette pouted, looking adorable.

Quentin smiled, "If you don't want to, I can assign it to someone else."

Hearing Quentin say this, Odette immediately changed her tune. "Just to be clear, are you attending this company retreat?"

Quentin answered, "I attend every company retreat."

"Then I'll do it," Odette accepted the task. "I'll also handle the event arrangements."

"Alright," Quentin nodded. "I trust you to handle it."
