Chapter 342 The Turn of Events

"Actually, all of this was planned in advance by Noah and me." Quentin's words confirmed Lauren's suspicions.

"Ever since Lauren had her accident, your image in my mind has never been the same." Seeing Sophia still looking stunned, Quentin began to explain everything.

It turned out that when Quentin went to ask Noah for the shares of Robinson Conglomerate, Noah was initially unwilling to give them up, but it was just out of anger.

Seeing that Noah was unwilling to give up on Sophia, Quentin kindly advised Noah, "Sophia is not as innocent and kind as you think."

"Yeah," Noah snorted coldly, "now that your heart is only with Lauren, naturally you can't see anyone else."

"If you don't believe me, we can make a bet." Quentin said.

Seeing that Noah was clearly not listening to anything, Quentin decided to let Noah witness it for himself.

Hearing Quentin say this, Noah became a bit serious, "What do you mean?"

"I'll give you a chance to test Sophia. You can temporarily keep the shares of Robinson Conglomerate. Pretend that you and I have fallen out and see if Sophia chooses you or me." Quentin explained.

Noah originally wanted to question Quentin about why he wanted to test Sophia's feelings, but seeing how serious Quentin was, Noah began to hesitate.

Moreover, Noah did want to know the answer to this question.

Although Noah loved Sophia deeply, he didn't want his love to be used by her.

"Okay." After thinking for a moment, Noah accepted Quentin's suggestion.

"Of course, I also want to take this opportunity to see which of the company's top executives would betray me." Quentin had been concerned about this for a long time but had never found the right moment to act, "It's a good chance to get rid of those disloyal forces."

Noah was aware of this as well, so he agreed to the plan, and he and Quentin conspired together.

"So what do you mean?" Even now, Sophia was still struggling, unwilling to admit her sinister calculations.

"Quentin," Sophia grabbed Quentin's sleeve, pleading pitifully, "you should understand my feelings the most."

But Quentin didn't even want to look at Sophia.

"There's no need to say more." Quentin shook off Sophia's hand and walked over to Lauren.

"Lauren, let's go." Quentin's voice was gentle, a stark contrast to his cold attitude towards Sophia earlier.

"Okay." Lauren nodded blankly; she still hadn't fully processed everything.

But Lauren was sure of one thing that Quentin didn't like Sophia.

"Quentin!" Seeing Quentin treat her like this, Sophia decided there was no need to pretend anymore.

Sophia angrily shouted at Quentin, "I never thought you would scheme against me like this, after all these years we've known each other!"

When it came to scheming, how could Quentin be a match for Sophia?

Quentin didn't look back, only saying, "You're the last person qualified to say that to me."

Unwilling to stay and argue with Sophia any longer, Quentin took Lauren to his car and quickly disappeared from Sophia's sight.

Inside the café, only a deeply disappointed Noah and a tearful Sophia remained.

Sophia had schemed all her life, never expecting that one day she would lose to her own hand.

The more she thought about it, the more unwilling she felt. She had painstakingly planned for so long, only to have everything taken away by the suddenly appearing Lauren.

"Who does Lauren think she is!" Sophia angrily threw everything on the table to the ground, venting her frustration without any regard.

"Sophia." Noah said.

Despite everything that had happened, Noah was very clear that Sophia had been using him from the beginning.

But seeing Sophia so heartbroken, Noah couldn't help but feel a bit of pity.

"Noah, tell me, how am I any worse than Lauren? I really can't accept this!" Sophia walked up to Noah, crying helplessly, "I've given so much, helped Quentin so much, even willing to sacrifice my own life for his safety. But in the end, he still chose Lauren."

"Feelings can't be forced." Noah's words were not only for Sophia but also for himself.

Noah's efforts for Sophia were something she never saw.

Perhaps everyone in love was a fool. After today's events, Noah felt a sense of clarity, as if he understood a lot, yet understood nothing at all.

"I don't believe it." Sophia said angrily, "I will definitely take Quentin back from Lauren."

"Give it up." Noah wanted to advise Sophia, but she grabbed him. "Noah, you'll help me, right? You like me so much."

Hearing Sophia say this, Noah's heart turned cold.

In Sophia's eyes, besides bitterness and despair, there was more hatred.

Noah could understand Sophia's feelings, but he didn't want to be treated like this.

"You're tired, go home and rest early." Noah said, wanting to leave.

Staying here any longer was also a form of hurt for Noah.

"Noah, are you abandoning me too?" Sophia said helplessly.

If that were the case, then today, she had truly lost everything.

Not only had she lost Quentin, her strong support, but now even Noah, who had always liked her, was slipping away.

"I don't want to answer that question." Noah turned away, "From now on, take care of yourself."

Noah had originally planned to take Sophia home, but he was afraid that in her current emotional state, she would say something excessive, and he didn't want to hear any of it.

Noah didn't say anything more and chose to leave without another word.

Seeing Noah leave, Sophia suddenly started laughing uncontrollably. "All of you who deceived me, used me, and abandoned me, one day, I will get my revenge on each and every one of you."
